EA Ships Spore; Wii gets Rock Band

According to Reuters, EA expects to ship the highly anticipated, alternative title Spore before the end of the year. Chief Executive John Riccitiello told industry analysts on a conference call that, “It’s going to be before the holidays.” That’s one full quarter sooner than the original targeted release date of April 1, 2009. In related news, the Nintendo Wii will join the Rock Band crowd after all. In the same conference Mr. Riccitiello stated that a Wii version of the Rock Band franchise is in the works. The Chief Executive gave no mention of a release date, however.
