Portal Automatically Rejected by XBLA!

Astoundingly, Valve, the makers of Portal, approached Microsoft about making Portal available for the Xbox LIVE Arcade and were roundly rejected! This tidbit of information comes from Gamesindustry.biz's conversation with Valve's marketing director Doug Lombardi. Mr. Lombardi stated that they would love to bring Portal to XBLA, but that “there's a size limit and all kinds of other things” blocking such a deal from going through. Originally, Microsoft limited XBLA titles to a 50 MB file size and has since upped that to 150 MB. This leaves us wondering why we can play free game demos of upcoming major titles that are far larger, but can't pay for an excellent XBLA title?
