Battles are more engaging, not only because of the faster pace, but because of the 3D graphics in the Wave World. The sprites still look like they did on the GBA, but the battle maps have been brought to life in glorious 3D. It's not spectacular looking; it's just nice to have that extra dimension to play in. Back in the real world, the graphics are nothing to write home about. They are GBA quality at best, and having said that, the stock transition animations were actually superior on the GBA.

I expected to see more detailed in-game animation on the DS. Fortunately, there is no slowdown, annoying load times, bad camera angles, or any other technical shortcomings. And considering the general lack of detail and animation, there would be no excuse for the game to run flawlessly.
The DS touch controls are little more than a novelty and most likely an afterthought. You can select your Battle Cards on the bottom screen, using the touch control system. There are some weapons that allow you to use the stylus, such as in the launching of certain bombs and missiles. I found it was just better to use the face buttons and the D-pad whenever possible as the stylus was awkward and unresponsive in these instances. Using the touch screen and the stylus requires the use of a free hand, which can make it difficult to get back into position to defend yourself in some situations.
Employing the BrotherBand over the Wi-Fi system, you will be able to team up with other enthusiasts around the planet. As I mentioned, you can't play against other players, but you can enhance your abilities by boosting various attributes. You can obtain items such as Mega Buster bonuses and more health. Other interested parties can be emailed. These features are not deal makers, but if you've purchased the game and are looking to share some info and items with other MM freaks, then consider it a darn good bonus to a darn good game.
