Perhaps the best aspect of this game comes from its online play. While online, you can compete in deathmatch, fort, or race modes. Deathmatch is self-explanatory, and fort mode is virtually deathmatch but with a large water gap in between the teams. Race mode is fairly interesting and has you attempt to wriggle your way through a maze faster than your opponent. All of these modes are enjoyable and work well. I didn't have any trouble finding a match and there was no noticeable lag while playing in any of these modes. In addition, these online modes all support online leader boards. The leader boards were an excellent idea for this title and will keep you interested in improving your rank on the list of the best online Worms players.

Graphically, this game is decent for a DS game. The landscapes, backgrounds, weapons, and worms all look good and animate well. My only real complaint comes from the fact that the worms are incredibly small on the screen. This is understandable considering the screen is so small; still it is a little disappointing. The cinemas in this game are well done and are among some of the best quality that I have seen on the DS. The sound effects and music in the game are also excellent. The music will have you humming along after only a few rounds and the humorous comments from the worms will continue to make you laugh even after lengthy play.
This is truly the Worms game that many fans have been waiting years for. It is easily as good as the earlier Worms titles and since it is portable, it can quench your Worms addiction no matter where you may be. With its various play modes and excellent online component, I really think that this is a must buy title for Worms fans and DS owners alike. Team 17 should be congratulated for revitalizing the Worms franchise to its former glory.
