The city and its surroundings sustained the attack of the monsters. Meanwhile, on the peaceful island of Bente, where reclued magic users live, Tao lived happily with his family when monsters attacked the village and turned all of its inhabitants into stone. All, except Tao. He is the son of Amon, the great wizard. Petcho has become Tao's partner after being saved by him in the Tower. ~~Gorsh Once a well-known monster hunter, Gorsh is now the head of the Ancient Magic Lab and also an old friend of Amon, Tao's father. ~~Amon Tao's father is a powerful Air Speller and also the magical teacher in Bente Island. A: Simply, head over to your room in the inn and take a nap to replenish your HP. A screen selection will appear on the touchscreen. Just choose "Save game - OK" and there you go. Q: How do I hatch an egg? A: After appraising an egg (either in the Monster Shop or using an item that does so), you can hatch your eggs in the Tower, or in your inn room. Q: How do I access the Tool Shop? The library? A: The Tool Shop is only accessible starting from Floor 10 and the library from Floor 13. If you have items to sell until then, you can sell them at the Accessory Shop instead. Q: What's the max level? A: The max level any of your characters can reach is LV50 and their stats are maxed out at 99. Your equipment can go up to LV20. Q: How do I get new spells? A: Apart from the spells you gain by leveling-up, you can get more spells by talking to Gorsh in the Ancient Magic Lab once in a while. You'll get the first one after Floor 10. Q: Is there a way to make Straitser Jr. evolve? A: Apparently not. Q: What is this "Baroy" the Secret Notebook tells about? A: Nobody knows for sure. Seems like a tease from the developpers more than anything else. Q: How do I cross water? A: You can cross water using a Tunam Fruit to turn into a frog. To get Tunam Fruits, either buy them at the Tool Shop starting from Floor 15 or use the graveyard trick to get some for free. /| |\__________________________________________________________________________ \ ---------- 3. Getting Started ------------- \ \__________________________________________________________________________ \ \| |/ |\ ___________________________/| / 3.A Bente Island / / ___________________________/ |/ \| Tao wakes up on a peaceful day. After breakfast, you get to explore around the island a bit. Walk south to the shore and talk to the villager on the left to learn that Lot has already headed back home. So you'll be off to the gym for the training. Your father will entrust you the Spell Rod and Spell Book. The training is fairly simple, draw the symbols for each spell your father will teach you. As your training ends, the village unexpectedly gets attacked by monsters from the Tower. Although your father doesn't want you to go out, the spell gets broken, so head outside only to find out everyone in the village has been turned into stone. The only survivors are you and the elders. Since they're obviously too old to do the job themselves, they'll request you to go retrieve the Straitser's Egg in the Tower in Mondominio to save the village. You'll receive the Wind Rod and Bente Charm. On your way to town, you'll come across a boy being attacked by a monster. You'll get invited to the inn for saving him. When you wake up in the room, you'll notice a bed and a chest. The chest is an item box where you can store your items. As for the bed, jump in to recover your HP when you need to, and also save your game using the touchscreen. Head downstairs and you'll get to freely explore the town. You're looking for Gorsh, so head for the Ancient Magic Lab in the east side of town. Gorsh, an old friend of your father, will tell you a bit about the Tower. He'll give you the Monster Collar and Sealing Notebook. Those are used to collect monsters. Now all you need before entering the Tower is a pass. Head over to the Mayor's house at the left of the inn to get a Pass from him. You're now ready to head inside the Tower. Show the guard your pass and he'll let you in. |\ ___________________________/| / 3.B Mondominio / / ___________________________/ |/ \| There is quite a bunch of things to explore around town, but I'll add more to this section later on. _______________________________ / 3. B1 Shops \ \ ----------------------------- / -Tool Shop ----------- At the right of the entrance to the Tower. Here you can buy supplies you will need inside the Tower. The stock often changes, so look often for new items. The Tool Shop will be open starting from Floor 10. -Weapon Shop ------------ At the right of the Tool Shop. Here you can buy various rods, staffs, swords and shields. The shopkeeper will change its stock near the end of the game with more powerful weapons, so make sure to give his inventory a look when you get there. -Accessory Shop --------------- Across the river in the southern part of the town. Here you can buy items which you can offer to townspeople. Pretty useless, but you can sell your stuff here when you first start the game. -Café ----- Behind the Weapon Shop. Here you can buy drinks that will temporarily increase your stats or powers. Can be usuful for boss battles. -Hall of Dark Arts ------------------ Behind Johnny's. Here you can upgrade your weapons to increase their level. It can be quite expensive, so you better use Red/Blue Magic Sand from the graveyard instead. -Ancient Magic Lab ------------------ This is where Gorsh lives. Talk to him once in a while to receive new spells. -Fortune Teller --------------- Southwest corner of town, across the river. Here you can get some illusive clues about what to do next if you are stuck. It's pretty vague though, so might as well use the walkthrough. _______________________________ / 3. B3 Graveyard \ \ ----------------------------- / I've put that one in a separate section, being one of the only 'sidequests' of the game. In the northwest corner of the town, there lies a graveyard that hides many secrets. The graveyard consists of 24 graves, plus one larger grave at the back. You can get some random items from here, plus 6 special items. To make the trick work and obtain these secret items, you will first need to be in possession of 25 Monster Meat (you can use Flowers from the Accessory Shop too, but Monster Meat are free, so if you don't want to shell out any money, go for the Monster Meat.) Monster Meat can be found on the 5th Floor of the Tower, at the left of the exit leading to Floor 6. They will always reappear everytime you leave the floor, so you can collect them over and over until you get 25 of them. Once you have them all, you will need to place them on the graves in the graveyard. To do so, use the "Search" function in front of a grave and select the Monster Meat from your inventory. Place all Monster Meat on the 24 small graves first, then place one on the larger grave last. You will hear a small music if done correctly, and a ghost will appear somewhere in the graveyard. Just looking around until you find it and talk to it using the Search function. He will give you one of the secret items. You can repeat this process up to six times to get all the items. You will also notice that sometimes random items will appear on the graves, which is a good way to get some Magic Sand. You'll have to climb up to the top, floor by floor. Before heading inside, make sure you are prepared and read the pointers below if you just started playing. Pointers: -Go in the inventory and equip a rod/sword before entering the Tower -Everytime you reach a new floor, cast Bound and choose "Input" so you can quickly come back to that floor next time you enter the Tower -To leave the Tower, cast Bound and choose "Leave" -Leave and reenter the Tower often so you can recover your HP at the inn and save your game -Sell the Nuggets you find in the Tower to get money (sell them at the Accessory Shop) -Buy yourself a shield before anything else -When you find a Monster Egg, go to the Monster Shop and appraise the egg. Choose to save him and allow him to accompany you. To get items #9, 10 and 11, you'll need to use a Tunam Fruit to cross the water leading to them. You'll get the opportunity to collect those items later in the game, once your reach Floor 15, so leave that for now. The block is simply used to leave that area if you don't climb back up the vine. When you reach Floor 2, input the Bound spell so you can come back later and leave the Tower. As you exit the Tower, you'll see a kid running away from you. Petcho will explain you that the people of Mondominio don't like the Bente people, because of a war that took place long ago where the Bente used human lives with their magic. Rest at the inn, save your game, sell your Nuggets at the Accessories Shop to buy more stuff at the Weapons Shop (possibly a shield and a sword) and head back inside the Tower when you're ready. Also, you'll notice an unreachable area at the right of a block. You'll need to return here later in the game when you have a Tunam Fruit. From the room with the water (6), use the Tunam Fruit to swim to that secret area with a few gold nuggets and a Powa Seed. Then push the block to exit. After reaching Floor 3, teleport back outside the tower and head over to the inn to rest. When you leave your room, you'll meet Min-Min. Although she's the one who talked to you first, her father will get mad at you for talking to her. Now try to go to the tower and Petcho will stop you, saying he's hungry. Head to the Café in the east side of town. As you enter, an old woman will get riled up from your presence and leave. When you reach Floor 4, Petcho will tell you you should go back to the inn, so teleport back outside and head over to your room. The innkeeper will tell you that Hunters that just got into town want to talk with you. They're in the room just next to yours, so head in to have a chat with them. You'll learn they are from Muchoy, who happen to like the Bente since they saved their village long ago. You'll get to a part with a switch that moves a section of the path. Move it (tap "Search" to activate it) once to cross over to the room on the left, then you'll find another switch in that room. Move the path 3 times to set it back to its original location and cross over to that other room. You'll get to another switch further on, activate it to set the path leading to the next room. It would be wise at this point to warp out of the Tower and rest/save your game at the inn. If you want the monster egg in the room at the right, come back after the next floor and it should appear. Boss: Meturtle ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You should be around LV7 at this point. Buy from the Diamond Shield from the weapon shop and also the Lightning Sword. Spells don't work very well against Meturtle, so the Lightning Sword is your best bet. Have your two monsters attack Meturtle to distract him while you strike him with the sword. You can't hit him while he hides in his shell, so move around and wait for him to attack first, then strike him. Or use Monster Meats and you'll take it down very easily that way. There's a Monster Egg in the room at the right of the one that is locked, and to open that one, you need to press the right switch. The left one doesn't seem to do anything. This boss is still pretty tough, as he has a spell that confuses you, resulting in your character not answering anymore for a short while. If this happens, stay out of range until the spell breaks and let Petcho and your monster attack meanwhile. The Crimson Sword seems to work best against him. Spells aren't as efficient though. To counter his confuse spell, you can also use the Mirror Shield, as it has a chance of nullifying the spell. After you've defeated Winka, Petcho will prompt you to head out. Return to the inn and while you're resting in your room, the innkeeper will come in. It turns out the tool shop owner wants you to help him save his daughter, who needs a Heelan Egg. The doctors suggets that you pay a visit to the library first, but the library owner doesn't want to let you in. Well, well. You can get a Flash Sword by climbing down the vine in the left room. This is also the floor where the boss awaits you. Boss: Fungigore ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You should be around LV21 at this point. Fungigore isn't really strong, but it'll send other small enemies attacking you, so make sure to have Petcho with you, along with one of your strongest monster partners. Have your partners attack the smaller enemies while you take care of Fungigore. The Crimson Sword works well against it, as well as fire-based spells. If you have the Orichalcon sword, it's your best bet, as it restores your HP everytime you damage the enemy. When you return here later, just walk diagonally to bypass the pillar. After acquiring the Ginobo Egg, you'll be taken back to the hospital where Dr. Jarett will prepare the medicine to cure Boxx's grandson. He'll tell you more about diseases caused by monsters and his desire to save people. After an argument with Petcho, Tao wakes up in the morning and receive the visit of Boxx and his grandson, now in good health. When you get to that platform with the blocks, don't touch anything. Leave them where they are. Instead, follow the bottom-left path until you get to another block (K1 on the map). Push that block forward into the hole (#) in the stairway. Then, go back to the large platform with the blocks and push the southern block (K2) two spaces right, then push it down. It should fall on top of the other block you pushed in the hole. Now go back all the way to the stairway below and thanks to the blocks, you can now cross and pick up the Monster Egg. After you've got your hands on the Murasame Sword ahead, come back to the platform with the blocks, and this time, push the remaining block (C1) all the way down the path ahead. You'll get to an area with another block (C2) and a switch. You'll notice that block C1 is quite taller than block C2, and that if you press the switch, a stairway will raise up; a stairway with two holes, a tall one, and a small one. Obviously, you'll want to place block C1 in the right hole, and block C2 in the left hole. So, before pressing the switch (press it again to return the floor to normal, if you did), push block C1 (the tall one) at the emplacement of the 3rd step (@1) (where the stairway is supposed to be) and block C2 (the small one) at the 8th step (@2). When you press the switch again, the stairway will raise and if you placed the blocks at the right spot, they should fall in the holes so you can now climb up. Boss: Missure ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You should be around LV30 at this point. Missure attacks with magic spells and will cast one to seal all of your magic, so equip a sword instead (either Orichalcon or Murasame) and rely on normal attacks. The best strategy would be to have Gecodron (evolution of Gecola) with you and while standing beside Missure, have Gecodron use Phase Out. He will become invincible to attacks, so while Missure looses turns to attack Gecodron, keep attacking him with Petcho's help. To do so, you'll need to make a path out of the blocks scattered around. Push the second one over the first one and leave it there. Go around to the northern path so you can push that block south. This should create a pathway to the other sidein the shape of a cross. There's also another block (C) further on near the exit. When you get to it, push it north into the small room there, then push it right and down the path. This fight becomes extremely easy if you use the Orichalcon sword. Gonphanto has pretty strong attacks that do a lot of damage, but using the Orichalcon, you can suck up back just as much damage to replenish your HP. After the fight, you'll be taken back to the inn. The innkeeper will inform you that the mayor wants to discuss with you. Head for the Meeting House across the bridge at the left to find the town elders. Apparently, eight of their children were kidnapped by monsters and trapped in the Tower. Use Boa or any fire-based spell to burn it down. Before going inside the spider's den, make sure that Petcho is with you. If he's not, you'll get stuck. Once inside, you'll face Modura, who holds two of the children captive. Your attacks don't do any damage, but keep attacking it during a few minutes to ensue a cutscene where Tao will notice it's no use. Petcho will propose you leave. Back in town, go see Gorsh. Then, head to the Hall of Dark Arts and talk to Izam. He'll entrust you the Blood Sword, which will allows you to defeat Modura. Head back inside the Tower and return to Modura's den. Equip the Blood Sword and three hits should do to take down Modura. The two children who were prisoners are now saved, so you take them back home. Whee. Now, go talk to Izam for another cutscene. He's looking for the egg of a legendary monster to save his family. Hum. Also, if you talk to Gorsh, he'll teach you the spell Poisola. If you enter by E1, you'll find another Modura. As previously, burn down the spiderweb covering the door with a fire spell, then equip your Blood Sword and take down Modura in three hits. The three children that were prisoners are now saved, so you'll take them back to the town. Once that's done, return to Floor 33 by E1 and re enter Modura's den. Exit by the door on the other side and cross the area with the ice. You'll find a switch on the other side. Press it, and a fountain will appear in the center of a water pool. Head on to that water pool in the center of the room and walk diagonally to reach the fountain in the middle. It's actually the exit to Floor 34. Apart from that, there are also a few ice puzzles on this floor too. I'll give the solution to each (check the map for the numbers). Ice Puzzle 1: From the west path, slide right, up, left, down, left, up, right, down, left, up, right, down, left, then down to reach the chest with a Mazar Seed. Ice Puzzle 2: From the north path, slide down, left, up, then left to reach the chest with a Jewel. Ice Puzzle 3: From the south path, slide up, left, down, right, up, right, down and then right to reach the Monster Egg. Ice Puzzle 4: From the north path, slide down, left, up, left, down, left, up, right, down and left. You should end up at the edge of the platform. Walk diagonally to safely reach the path. Ice Puzzle 5: From the east path, slide left, down, right, down, left, up, left, down, right, down, right, up, right, and up to reach the chest containing Fairy Spectacles.
