I have spent a great deal of time making sure that every piece of information is completely accurate and confirmed so that you can get through the game as painlessly as possible. All trademarks and copyrights contained in this document are owned by their respective trademark and copyright holders. -History- Oct 14/05 - v0.15 includes a control overview, the first mission, the first mission's script, a partial script for the second mission and the game tips from the second mission. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -=(2) Characters (CHA)=- -Spiderman- Spidey is very agile and has many attacks he can use to smash bad guys. He can't heal himself if he gets hurt, but he can dodge attacks. Also, Spidey has the ability to use webs to subdue enemies and travel around. Mix up your punches and kicks and you will do combos that take a lot of damage off and send your enemies flying. CONTROLS B - Used to jump. The longer you hold the button, the higher you jump. - Press in conjunction with UP on the D-PAD when attached to a wall to jump up it, DOWN on the D-PAD to release the wall and fall straight down or away from the wall to jump off it. - Press and hold in mid-air for a web line. The longer you hold the button, the longer you hold onto the line. Press UP on the D-PAD when on a web line to swing higher, the opposite direction you are swinging to slow down or the same direction you are swinging to swing faster. A - Used to kick. You can combo up to three different attacks at one time. You can also kick in mid-air. - Press in conjunction with UP on the D-PAD to do a high kick. - Press in conjunction with LEFT or RIGHT on the D-PAD to do an advancing kick. - Press in conjunction with UP on the D-PAD when in mid-air to do an upward punch or DOWN on the D-PAD when in mid-air to do a head stomp. Y - Tap for a web ball. You will fire a ball of web wherever you are aiming. This move can be done in mid-air. - Hold for web zip. Aim at a wall and you will be drawn to wherever you are aiming. This move can also be used to tie up enemies. When you have an enemy on your line, press the D-PAD to throw him in whatever direction you wish. This move can be done in mid-air. - In certain situations, this button is context sensitive. You use it to pick up civilians and interact with objects. X - Used to punch. You can combo up to three different attacks at one time. You can also punch in mid-air. - Press in conjunction with UP on the D-PAD to do an Uppercut. - Press in conjunction with LEFT or RIGHT on the D-PAD to do an advancing punch. - Press in conjunction with UP on the D-PAD when in mid-air to do an upward kick or DOWN on the D-PAD when in mid-air to do a head smash. L - Used to dodge. This move can be done in mid-air. - Press in conjunction with LEFT or RIGHT on the D-PAD to do an advancing dodge. R - Used to activate your Special Move. Depending on which one you have selected on the TOUCH SCREEN, you will be able to do a Special Move when you have inflicted enough regular attacks to fill up your special meter. Certain special moves can only be done in mid-air. SPECIAL MOVES Spiderman can unleash powerful special moves after landing a certain amount of regular attacks. The TOUCH SCREEN keeps track of how much of your special meter you have filled up and tells you how much the current special move you have selected will use. Your special meter has a total of 9 blocks that you can fill up. When you do a special attack, the amount of blocks it takes is deducted from your total. To select what special move you would like to do, simply tap the TOUCH SCREEN and pick your special move from the menu that pops up. Head Banger - Takes 1 block of special power. - Icon is a head with a burst coming off it. - Can only be performed in mid-air. - You jump in the air and then come down on your enemies head. This move pops you back into the air for another hit and can be used over and over. Wrecking Ball - Takes 2 blocks of special power. - Icon is a wrecking ball swinging. - Can only be performed in mid-air. - You jump in the air and kick on a web line. This move swings you into all the enemies that are in front of you. Super Mega-Thump - Takes 4 blocks of special power. - Icon is a downward burst. - You jump straight up and then come down hard on the ground, damaging all enemies in the vicinity. Rolling Thunder - Takes 7 blocks of special power. - Icon is a lighting bolt. - You do a forward handspring and then another doing a lot of damage to every enemy in front of you. Adrenaline Rush - Takes 9 blocks of special power. - Icon is a heart with a burst coming off it. - Your attacks are more powerful for a short while. You'll hear a heartbeat when this move has been activated and it will stop when this power runs out. TOUCH SCREEN CONTROLS When you are playing as Spiderman, the TOUCH SCREEN plays a much different role than when playing as Venom. You use the TOUCH SCREEN to move obstacles like cars, disarm bombs and select special moves. To move obstacles, first press Y and then stroke the TOUCH SCREEN in the direction indicated. To disarm bombs, first press Y then tap the green circles and avoid tapping the red ones. To select special moves, first tap the TOUCH SCREEN then tap the power you would like to select. -Venom- Venom is slower than Spiderman, but he inflicts major damage on opponenets. The suit Venom wears is constantly feeding on his health, so you need to take advantage of the fact that Venom can suck in people and absorb their energy. While Venom can jump higher than Spiderman, he can't use web lines to travel around. You can't do the tendril grab without using the TOUCH SCREEN. STANDARD CONTROLS B - Used to jump. The longer you hold the button, the higher you jump. - Press in conjunction with UP on the D-PAD when attached to a wall to jump up it or hold away from the wall to jump off it. A - Used to tendril lash. You can combo up to three different attacks at one time. You can also tendril lash in mid-air. - Press in conjunction with UP on the D-PAD to do an overhead tendril lash. - Press in conjunction with LEFT or RIGHT on the D-PAD to do an advancing tendril lash. - Press in conjunction with DOWN on the D-PAD to do a tounge lick. - Press in conjunction with UP on the D-PAD when in mid-air to do an upward tendril lash or DOWN on the D-PAD when in mid-air to do a ground stomp. Y - Used to tendril zip. You can aim with the D-PAD and use your tendril zip to stick to surfaces or attack enemies. You can do this move in mid-air. X - Used to claw swipe. You can combo up to three different attacks at one time. You can also claw strike in mid-air. - Press in conjunction with UP on the D-PAD to do an overhead claw swipe. - Press in conjunction with LEFT or RIGHT on the D-PAD to do an advancing claw swipe. - Press in conjunction with DOWN on the D-PAD to do a low claw strike. - Press in conjunction with UP on the D-PAD when in mid-air to do an upward swipe or DOWN on the D-PAD when in mid-air to do a double claw swipe. L - Used to jump. The longer you hold the button, the higher you jump. - Press in conjunction with UP on the D-PAD when attached to a wall to jump up it or hold away from the wall to jump off it. R - Used to feed. Get close to someone and hold the button down as long as you'd like. You will release the person when you release the button or when they run out of energy. TOUCH SCREEN CONTROLS Using the TOUCH SCREEN to control Venom allows you to do some very cool moves. You can pick up objects and enemies and you have much better control over where you're tendrils are going. You will still need to use either L or B to jump as that is the only maneuver that you can't do on the TOUCH SCREEN. Claw Swipe - Tap the TOUCH SCREEN close to Venom. You can use the D-PAD to do different claw swipes as described above (X). You can still perform this move in mid-air. Tendril Lash - Tap the TOUCH SCREEN further away from Venom. You can use the D-PAD to do different tendril lashes as described above (A). You can still perform this move in mid-air. Tendril Zip - Draw a line from Venom to whatever surface or enemy that you would like to use your tendril on. You can still do this move in mid-air. Tendril Grab - Tap and hold the TOUCH SCREEN on an enemy or object. You can drag the enemy or object wherever you want. You can even move with them in your tendrils. - Drag gently and release to set objects back down on the ground. - Drag quickly and release to throw the enemy or object in the direction you dragged. You can destroy objects or damage other enemies with the things you throw. - Drag the enemy or object quickly at the ground to inflict damage. This can be done over and over until the enemy dies. - You can't do the tendril grab without using the TOUCH SCREEN. Feed - Tap an enemy on the TOUCH SCREEN and drag them to Venom. Hold the stylus on the TOUCH SCREEN for as long as you'd like. You will release the person when you raise the stylus or when they run out of energy. - Unlike using R to feed, you can perform this move anywhere on the screen, you don't need to be close to your victims. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -=(3) Single Player Missions (SIN)=- 1) Football Field Frenzy (CHARACTER: Peter Parker LOCATION: Midtown High) After you watch the opening cutscene, you are thrown right into battle with Venom on the football field of Midtown High School. You are playing as Peter Parker, so that means you don't have access to any of your web powers or special moves. Still, this fight is really easy. You have no health bar and nothing Venom does can kill you. There is no real strategy here, just hammer away at him until he is defeated. At the beginning of the fight, a single close-up picture of Peter will be on the TOUCH SCREEN. After smacking Venom with around 10 hits, a second picture will appear on the TOUCH SCREEN. This one has Peter ducking out of the way of a tendril swipe. Hit Venom a few more times and one final picture, this one featuring Venom's face will appear on the TOUCH SCREEN. This lets you know the battle is nearly finished. Hit Venom with a few more hits and the screen will freeze and zoom in to show you the final shot you connected with. Then the closing cutscene will play. 2) Small Time Crooks (CHARACTER: Spiderman LOCATION: Queens) 3) Picnic In The Park (CHARACTER: Venom SETTING: Central Park) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -=(4) Game Tips (GAM)=- To activate a game tip simply stand in the blue ? logo and press Y. If you are using Venom, you can also press the hand icon on the TOUCH SCREEN that appears when you are standing in the blue ? logo. -Mission 1- There are no game tips in this mission. -Mission 2- Tip 1 - Press B to jump, then press and hold B to web swing. Tip 2 - Save the man from falling by pressing Y to pick him up. Find a safe zone and press Y to put him down. Tip 3 - Press Y to grab onto the car, then stroke the TOUCH SCREEN to lift. Stroke up rapidly to free the victim. Tip 4 - Break open the fire hydrant to put out the fire! Tip 5 - Press UP and X to uppercut. Tip 6 - Each move requires a different number of blocks to be filled on the special meter. Tip 7 - Build up the special meter by attacking. When enough blocks are filled, perform a special move by pressing R. Tip 8 - Tap Y to shoot a web ball. Tip 9 - Press and hold Y to shoot a web line. If the web line hits a surface, Spidey will web zip to it! Tip 10 - Turn off the electricity by disabling the power box. Tip 11 - Hold Y to web up enemies. While webbing, press up to web pull. Tip 12 - Spidey-sense warns of immediate danger. Press L to dodge immediate threats. Tip 13 - Touch the correct keys as they activate to turn off the power! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -=(5) Script (SCR)=- -Mission 1 Football Field Frenzy- OPENING CUTSCENE Spiderman: A few months ago I reunited with my childhood friend Eddie Brock. Eddie's dad and my dad worked together. They worked on this suit that they thought would be the cure to cancer. But then my dad signed the wrong paper for the wrong person and they took the suit away from my dad and I was gonna take it back. I thought.... I knew I could finish what he started. I was going to take just enough to do my own tests when something unexpected happened. Whoa! I felt good. Great. More than myself. It didn't last. It was feeding on me. It was eating me alive. I escaped with my life. Barely. I don't know what the suit had becomre or what it had done to me but I had super spider powers and I couldn't control it so I don't think anyone else could ever hope to. But when Eddie found out what I had done. Who I really was. Well, he was pretty angry. Venom: Parkerrrrrrrrrr! START OF FIGHT (1 PIC ON TOUCH SCREEN) Spiderman: Listen to me Eddie. You're smarter than this. This isn't you. It's the suit. I know what it's doing to you. I've been behind it. MIDDLE OF FIGHT (2 PICS ON TOUCH SCREEN) Spiderman: Let me help you. Before you do something you're going to regret. NEAR END OF FIGHT (3 PICS ON TOUCH SCREEN) Spiderman: This has to end. CLOSING CUTSCENE Spiderman: I couldn't save him, but I have a feeling he's still out there. Somewhere. -Mission 2 Small Time Crooks- OPENING CUTSCENE Three months later... Peter: Thanks for stitching up that hole in the butt. I can explain that, by the way. Mary Jane: Please don't. Peter: Anyway, I appreciate it. I just wanted to tell you that. Now I better go put that costume to use. A police car just raced by here. I should probably go help out. After all, I am your friendly neighbourhood Spid.... Mary Jane: Yeah, yeah. I've heard it before. I know. Now go save the day. MISSION START Spiderman: Time to go to work. CLOSING CUTSCENE Spiderman: That felt good. Nothing like taking on some petty crooks to get the blood pumping. I just hope things are this quiet from here on out. I could use the relaxation.
