Gears of War 2 is shaping up to be the visceral experience we had all hoped for. The hype has made it out to be Epic's gift to gaming, and this made us fearful. But after E3 2008, we think the Kool-Aid tastes delicious! Besides, how can you go wrong with Locust meat shields and Brumak mounts?

If we had gotten some time with Resistance 2, we may be singing a different tune. However, it was always going to be difficult to beat out the imaginative wonder that is LittleBigPlanet. The ability to build your own levels, share them with friends, and make your own fun with a treasure trove of useful objects and tools is the kind of game many have been longing for.
Animal Crossing: City Folk

Nintendo showed off a ton of casual games this year. Of all the options available, Animal Crossing: City Folk seemed to be the title with the biggest draw. The incorporation of online play and voice chat should make this a game tweens and beyond will have difficulty putting down.
