E3 2008 - Ubisoft: Company Tour and Updates article

Gratefully, we were invited to the Ubisoft party on Wednesday night and got an in-depth look at the beautiful new Far Cry 2 (not to mention a lot of beautiful people and an open bar).

The game encompasses 50 sq. km of challenges and baddies in the African savannah. There are vehicles galore and more than enough random buildings to clear out. Players have a few different load outs to choose from in order to best suit their playing style; going completely stealthy or balls out with rockets blazing is your choice. The A.I. looks to be coming along exceptionally well, and we're eager to get our hands on the full retail version.

Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV Party also looks like a hot one for the Wii. The integration of the Balance Board and the imaginative, if not quite loveable, Rabbids should make this a must-buy, party title. This game got a lot of attention from a lot of different people down on the show floor (that's where G4 recorded the majority of their segments), so it should sell well. Hopefully, all the mini-games included are as engaging as the now famous yak-sledding and dancing that was on display. Certainly Ubisoft's North America President Laurent Detoc thinks "it's really good!"

In addition to these great titles, Ubisoft will be leveraging their Clancy license with Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X (Click HERE for the preview), an engaging and highly detailed, jet fighter combat simulator, and End War, a game that has you commanding forces like a general via voice commands. Plus, Ubisoft showed off the new additions to their girl-gamer-specific Imagine series as well as introducing girls' sports titles Ener-G (Click HERE for more details), and expanding upon the best-selling Petz series. Interestingly enough, players can now cross-breed their animals (I'm not sure why they didn't call it Mutz).

Despite not being able to test everything they had to offer at their booth, Ubisoft looks like they've got a stellar line-up coming out for next year and beyond. In fact, I think only EA made a better showing at this year's E3.
