Diablo 3
Dev: Blizzard | Pub: Blizzard
Systems: PC | Release Date: TBA
With over an eight year wait for this sequel, Diablo 3 is easily one of the most anticipated PC games of all time. While this game’s existence is still technically a rumor, this doesn’t stop fans of the series from eagerly awaiting any new information about this title. It has certainly been a long wait for fans of this classic action RPG but hopefully, come July, we should finally get some solid details about Diablo 3’s inevitable release.

Fable 2
Dev: Lionhead Studios | Pub: Microsoft
Systems: Xbox 360 | Release Date: Q4 2008
Peter Molyneux seems to have learned a thing or two from his past mistakes. After he drastically oversold the contents of the original Fable, he appears to be letting the sequel speak for itself. This time around, the bite will definitely be worse than the bark, as players will get a canine companion in their travels. An improved one-button combat system that relies on timing as well as drop-in/drop-out co-op throughout the game's campaign further improves upon the original's already successful formula. Xbox 360 owners definitely won't want to miss this potentially epic exclusive game this holiday season.

Fallout 3
Dev: Bethesda Softworks | Pub: Bethesda Softworks
Systems: X360, PS3, PC | Release Date: Q4 2008
While the name may mean nothing to console gamers yet, PC gamers should easily recognize this upcoming RPG. After the series nearly died when Interplay ran into some problems, the guys that brought us Morrowind and Oblivion stepped in and stayed the executioner's hands. This post-apocalyptic RPG has been raising many gamers' eyebrows and looks to pick up roughly thirty years after the conclusion of Fallout 2. Some longtime fans may still be worried about the franchise's future, but this title seems to be coming along rather well in Bethesda's more than capable hands.

Far Cry 2
Dev: Ubisoft Montreal | Pub: Ubisoft
Systems: X360, PS3, PC | Release Date: Q4 2008
The original Far Cry was a runaway hit combining beautiful graphics, intelligent A.I., and an expansive sandbox environment. While the sequel is a departure from the original in the sense of its story, Far Cry 2 improves upon the major things that made the first so compelling. The graphics have gotten a considerable boost, the A.I. has plenty of new tricks up its sleeves, and the African savannah provides much more real estate than the original's island backdrop. It has been a long wait for this follow up, but soon the crying for a sequel can stop; that is, until we've all played through number two and inevitably begin to long for the third installment.
