Starcraft II is a RTS game done correctly. With a new focus on multiplayer, improved visuals, and an engaging storyline, Starcraft II is undoubtedly one of the best PC games released this year.

Sid Meier's Civilization V brings plenty of hardcore strategy to PCs and challenges even the most analytical tactician to rethink their strategies as evolving landscapes and unit types test your skills. Though Civilization V is presented as a hardcore title, there are also plenty of handicaps and tutorials for newer players who have never experienced the turn-based strategy sub-genre.
