Admittedly, this one is an upset; the Uncharted series began as a single-player-only experience, after all. However, Uncharted 2 tacked on a multiplayer mode that unexpectedly took off, ultimately becoming perhaps the best PS3-exclusive multiplayer of its time.
Naughty Dog has learned quite a bit from their previous attempt, working extremely hard to ensure Uncharted 3 would have a solid multiplayer component. And they succeeded. In a year that brought us an enormous amount of great multiplayer games, Uncharted 3 just had that little something special that grabbed our attention and nudged it just slightly ahead of the competition.

There's no denying the awesomeness of Battlefield 3's multiplayer. Especially on PC. There's just something about 64 players shooting at each other on massive battlefields that keeps us running back to this one. And the jets. Don't forget the jets.
