Minecraft is the epitome of indie success. With just word-of-mouth and several fan-made YouTube videos as promotion, it managed to sell over four million copies before it even officially launched. Giving players what basically amounts to an endless box of LEGOs while tasking them with survival against hordes of monsters, Minecraft delivered an insanely addictive formula—and one we had never seen before.
This little gem stole our hearts, and several hundreds of hours of our time, making it our favorite PC game of 2011.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
The Witcher 2 wowed us with its incredible storytelling and dark, medieval setting. And that's not to mention just how stuffed with great content this game is. CD Projekt has managed to deliver a truly impressive Western RPG—which is no small feat in this day and age—and we can't help but applaud them for it.
