Electrically-powered superhero Cole Porter returns in Infamous 2. This time, the game takes place in New Marais, a fictional city inspired by New Orleans. Cole will be fighting a group called the Militia as well as mutated beings called the Corrupted, all while learning more about himself and preparing for a confrontation with the Beast.
Cole's design has changed somewhat in this game, and the cutscenes have been improved with the use of motion capture technology. The Karma system has been overhauled, so the player can more immediately see the results of good or bad actions, and there will be multiple endings based on the things Cole does. Sucker Punch has also worked to improve the open-world aspect of the game, allowing Cole's powers to affect more of the things around him, and creating more realistic reactions to Cole amongst the people of the city. Yakuza 4 continues the story of Japanese gangster Kazuma Kiryu, but with a new twist. There will be three additional playable characters in the game: loan shark Shun Akiyama, escaped convict Taiga Saejima, and detective Masayoshi Tanimura. The player will experience each of the four character's stories in order, and their individual tales will come together in the game's climax.
The four main characters will take on different missions, including specific mission types for each character. Their different situations allow the player to experience many different sides of Kamurocho, a fictionalized version of Tokyo's red light district. Each character also has a distinct fighting style, and players will be able to use objects as weapons. When not fighting in the mean streets of Kamurocho, players will be adventuring in the city, even accessing the rooftops for the first time, and partaking in mini-games such as pachinko, fishing, table tennis, and karaoke.
