This fall, the Gears of War saga will come to its conclusion with the third and final chapter in the trilogy, Gears of War 3. Epic Games has done some tweaking and added a few new features which should be a welcome addition to the popular franchise. Players will once again step into the shoes of Marcus Fenix as he and his crew venture to the heart of the enemy Locust and end their reign of terror once and for all. Co-op play has returned, so the campaign can be tackled either by your lonesome or with a friend. New enemies and weapons have been included, which should help to keep the solid gameplay fresh, even for veterans.
Gears of War 3's multiplayer has seen some changes as well. Dedicated servers are being used this time around, which should make for a much more even playing field when competing online. Combine this with some new game modes and a surprising twist on the popular Horde mode, and it should be enough to keep fans busy for a long time. Gears of War 3 is exclusive to the Xbox 360, and is expected to hit shelves sometime this fall. Check out the full preview here!
Killzone 3, the third installment in the first-person shooter series from developer Guerrilla Games, once again pits the player against the Helghast army; this time players find themselves in a fight for survival amidst the violent political scheming and warring that has taken control of the land. The game will feature a dramatic single-player campaign, as well as the return of online or local multiplayer modes. New weapons are also included for your destructive pleasure, and…jetpacks? Things just got interesting!
The inclusion of 3D and Playstation Move support is nice, but it remains to be seen how precise Move will be; having tight controls with a motion device is especially critical in any FPS. Killzone 3 is a PS3 exclusive and will be available on February 22nd. Look here to read our full preview.
