Insomniac Games, the developer behind the PS3-exclusive Resistance, is currently working on the third installment in the series, Resistance 3. Sentinel Joseph Capelli emerges from hiding, and players will be tasked with guiding Capelli through the decimated land to New York City; it is there that he will have a chance to strike a devastating blow to the invading Chimeran threat. Players will have the option to play through the campaign solo or with a friend, either online or locally. One new addition to the game is weapon upgrades; the guns that Capelli finds during his journey will be upgradeable, adding customization and a welcome layer of gameplay to the franchise.
Multiplayer promises to be more of a draw this time around, with new 'progression-based' gameplay set to drive the experience. Resistance 3 will be available for the PS3 in early September. Check out the full preview here!
Bulletstorm is a new first-person shooter being brought to us by Epic Games and People Can Fly, and it looks to put a twist on the familiar FPS genre. Players take control of protagonist Grayson Hunt as he and his partner look to escape from deadly enemies and take revenge on the people who have wronged them. 'Skill shots' are the focus of the game, and this 'kill with skill' gameplay feature will reward players who take out enemies in the most skillful and over-the-top fashion with points, which are used to unlock new upgrades and weapons; this promises to keep the action fresh and exciting. This same gameplay will be present in multiplayer, so any FPS fan looking for a break from the usual online experience need look no further.
February 22nd marks the release date for Bulletstorm, and it will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Look here to read our full preview.
