CHEATCC’S 2016 HOLIDAY BUYER’S GUIDE

Sound BlasterX P5

What do you think of when you picture gaming headsets? Big, bulky things always come to my mind. They’re always overwhelming beasts. But, they don’t have to be. If you pick up a Sound BlasterX P5, for example, you’re getting an in-ear, higher performance gaming headset that’s basically a set of advanced earbuds and an in-line mic for $70. All of the quality, but with a subtle form factor.

The Sound BlasterX P5s feature high sensitivity, 7mm FullSpectrum drivers in each earbud. Each one is only 12 grams, but has Neodymium magnets that offer 114dB audio. Port tube arrays offer better bass response, while spiral-ribbed ear tips offer up to 95% passive noise isolation. As for the in-line mic, it’s omni-directional and designed to rival standard boom mics, with controls on it that let you mute the mic, as well as play or pause music and answer calls. It’s compatible with the PlayStation 4, computers, and mobile devices, and even comes with the BlasterX Acoustic Engine Lite software to make sure everything works as it should.
