CHEATCC’S 2016 HOLIDAY BUYER’S GUIDE

Rosewill HiMARS and Cullinan Cases

If you’re going to build your own computer, you’re going to need a good case to protect, cool, and keep everything together. Depending on your needs, you might find different ones more suitable. Fortunately, it’s easy to go between Rosewill’s HiMARS and Culligan to get the one you need. Those of us with a more basic system in mind could go with the HiMARS. It has two pre-installed fans, with the 140mm one in the front and 120mm one in the back. There are two USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 ports in the front, as well as an audio in/out. It has room for four plug and pull HDD hot swap trays. Plus, there are transparent windows so you can see inside.

Meanwhile, people with a need for more power, precision, and care should consider the Cullinan case. This is for people with systems that are going to have a lot to do and who want to be sure everything stays cool. In addition to the transparent windows made from tempered glass, there are four pre-installed fans. Three of the 120mm blue LED fans are in the front, while one is in the rear. There’s room for a high CPU cooler and liquid-cooling radiator. You also get two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, audio in/out, and fan speed control on the top of the tower. It’s a comprehensive case.
