Spider-Man (2018)
Systems: PlayStation 4

If early trailers are any indications, this Spider-Man game is shaping up to be a mechanically interesting, story heavy game that will allow players to embody the famed webslinger in a satisfying way that we haven’t seen since Spider-Man 2.

The story will feature an older Spider-Man who is trying to balance his heroic antics with his personal life.

Death Stranding
Systems: PlayStation 4
Release Date: TBA
Developer: Kojima Productions
Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment

Death Stranding is the latest unbridled masterpiece from Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear Solid games, and boy, does it look weird. At this point, it is almost hard to make sense of the game, and I get the feeling that, even after I play it, I will still be confused.

That said, it looks seriously good. The game will feature Norman Reedus in the role of protagonist, Sam, as he traverses a hellish world in the wake of his death. There will be multiplayer aspects to the game, and it will offer a unique, open world environment that begs to be explored.

Shenmue 3
Systems: PlayStation 4, PC
Release Date: TBA 2018
Developer: Neilo, Ys Net
Publisher: Deep Silver

Shenmue can be a divisive series, but the people who like it, love it. Sadly, they haven’t had a new Shenmue game since 2001, and that one ended on a cliffhanger. 2018 will remedy that with the release of Shenmue 3, which follows the series’ protagonist as he leaves Japan for China in the search of *spoilers* his father’s killer.

The game has an emphasis on exploration, but will also contain fighting sections that are mechanically reminiscent of the Virtua Fighter games.

Gameplay-wise, it will be an open world RPG. Thematically, the game is intriguing, but, unfortunately, details are a bit scarce at this point.
