Rock Band (PS3, Xbox 360)
What Guitar Hero started, Rock Band took to the inevitable next level. Why stop with just two guitars? People were dreaming of having a full band to rock out with, and, sure enough, Harmonix and publishers MTV Games and EA delivered. Vocals and drums were added and the rest is history. The guy who mastered guitar on Guitar Hero could grab lead guitar, the slightly less-skilled friend would be ideal for bass (sucker), the quasi-musician that had been in a band once was destined to drum, and your girlfriend could sing her heart out on vocals without messing with any annoying buttons. It was perfect.
Personal Highlight: I literally have no idea how many Rock Band parties we've had. Late nights of rocking and complaints from neighbors were the norm; we were our rockers. Sadly, I was also given more "Really? The Who… again?" looks than I can count.
