Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3)
The PlayStation 3 had long been touted to have a higher ceiling than the Xbox 360, and that any day now gamers would see why. Years passed and games were being made for both consoles, nearly identical regardless of platform. Uncharted 2 is perhaps the best reason so far (Blu-ray player aside) to go with Sony's console over Microsoft's offering. A PS3 exclusive, Uncharted 2 should give Sony some long overdue momentum heading into 2010.

Other Notable Releases in 2009: Street Fighter IV (PS3, Xbox 360) updates the classic fighting franchise with both beautiful artwork and meticulous game balancing. Punch-Out!! (Wii) is the latest old-school game to receive a modern makeover. UFC 2009 Undisputed (PS3, Xbox 360) brings MMA back to gamers after an extended absence. Ghosbusters: The Video Game reunites the entire Ghostbusters team in a nostalgia-filled ghost hunting adventure.
