No matter how you slice it, Call of Duty 3 on any system is
a game worth playing. But is it the best PS3 Game of the Year?
That remains to be seen. Whether it wins or loses isn't the
point - CoD3 is intense and is definitely worthy of some time
invested to see the campaign to the end.
Developers Insomniac went from creating kiddy games starring
cutesy purple dragons (Spyro) to more teen-rated mayhem with
their Ratchet & Clank series, but now they've undertaken
an entirely new project on a new system - A FPS on the new
PS3. It appears that the time spent developing the excellent
R&C games paid off as Resistance is currently one of the
best reasons to own a PS3.
We've already admitted to liking, perhaps even loving, Namco's
Ridge Racer series. When we fired up our PSone's back in 95
and played the original, our jaws dropped to the floor. Ridge
Racer 7 didn't have quite the same impact but it's still a
great arcade style racing game - albeit one that's easy to
learn, hard to master, especially for those over-achievers
who actually prefer to come in 1st place.
This vehicular combat series owes plenty to Twisted Metal and
the recent Prince of Persia games if you can believe it. With
its useful "rewind" feature, players can go back in
time and correct mistakes made in the heat of racing. Battlelines
is fun and entertaining and sure looks smoking hot on the PS3.
Fight Night Round 3
Fight Night Round 3 is proving to be just as impressive on
the PS3 as it was on the Xbox 360. We've been putting this
pugilist's dream-game through its paces but still haven't
had a chance to fully review it yet. But what we've played
so far has duly impressed all of us at Cheatcc.com
