What's coming (2008-?)
Notable Dragon Ball Media: TBA
Notable Games: Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit
There were many who believed the end of the PlayStation 2 era would mean the end of the Dragon Ball Z video games as well. For a series that had technically ended ten years prior, many thought it was amazing the series enjoyed its current longevity and did not expect it to make the transition to the next-generation.
However, the announcement of Dragon Ball Z: Burst limit for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 changed all that in a big way. Producer Donny Clay has promised this title will not only include the fighting experience you know and love from the original Tenkaichi and Budokai Tenkaichi series, but it will improve upon the experience with online gameplay, incredible HD graphics, and an even more responsive battle system.
Even though the original Dragon Ball Z anime stopped production in Japan, the Dragon Ball Z franchise is still going strong through their incredible video game line. The original Budokai series really started the Dragon Ball Z video game powerhouse, and the Budokai Tenkaichi series cemented it as a staple of modern gaming. Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit is looking to further strengthen the Dragon Ball Z brand of games, and it will be very interesting to see where this blockbuster series goes from here!
