HS: Hironobu Sakaguchi - Lost Odyssey Game Designer, Mistwalker
CCC: Cheat Code Central
In the end what do you hope players get out of the experience in Lost Odyssey by the time the end credits roll and the power button is switched off?
It should differ for each player. It means I depicted many kinds of "people" living. However, my overall target for the game is I want players to identify with the characters' attitudes of trying to be kind to others, while embracing many conflicts and depressions in themselves, rather than leave them with a cold and vacant feeling. It was the same as when I created Blue Dragon.
Are there any cheats, unlockable bonuses, or hidden secrets in the game you can share with us?
Sed's hideout will appear towards the end. Find it by proceeding to the back of the snowy cliff.
Have there been any discussions about the possibility of a sequel? What other projects are in the pipeline for 2008 release players should be keeping any eye open for?
There are a few projects that already kicked off, but I can't make any public announcements at this time. I was able to produce something that is orthodox in terms of game system as in Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey and something that sways human emotions. I'm going to further explore the game system and create what can be called a truly next-gen RPG.
Many thanks to Hironobu Sakaguchi for speaking with Cheat Code Central about his upcoming fantasy RPG endeavor on the Xbox 360. Those who've closely followed and appreciated Sakaguchi's work on the Final Fantasy series, Chrono Trigger, and countless other RPG masterpieces will no doubt find much to be enthusiastic about in Lost Odyssey.
With little time remaining until Lost Odyssey ships on Feb. 12, we can only wait in anticipation for what looks to be a truly grand quest.
