Inversion
Inversion
(PS3, Xbox 360)

If you feel like it's been too long since the last cooperative multiplayer third-person shooter featuring bulky men with big guns, you probably haven't played Gears of War 3. For those in that camp, Saber Interactive brings you Inversion, a game that looks and plays a lot like Epic's Xbox 360-only trilogy—But wait!—there's a twist! Inversion features a gravity gun that allows players to fling enemies and objects around and alter their environment. Will it be good? We'll find out on February 7th.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier

As the name implies, the new Ghost Recon is all sorts of futuristic, meaning that you'll get to play with lots of fancy "future toys" while sneaking around sniping and otherwise snuffing out dudes. Metal Gear-esque active camo and ridiculous amounts of gun customization are just a couple of the features that Ubisoft is hoping will separate Future Soldier from the stampede of competing third-person shooters trampling the market in 2012.

(PS3, Xbox 360)

Conspiracy lovers have been whispering about The Secret World for some time, and it's finally nearing completion. This modern MMO puts players in the shoes of a character who suddenly acquires bizarre and dangerous powers, and is recruited into a secret society. Players will join the upright Templars, the secretive Illuminati, or the chaotic Dragons in a battle to control the destiny of the world that exists just outside everyday reality. The Secret World is currently scheduled to release in April.

Street Fighter X Tekken
Street Fighter X Tekken
(PS3, Xbox 360)

Marvel, SNK, and now Tekken? It doesn't seem like there's any company or franchise Capcom won't crossover with. Street Fighter X Tekken brings both fighting game franchises together to settle age-old questions. Who would win in a fight? Ryu or Kazuya? Steve or Balrog? Juri or Nina? The game runs in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 style while being adapted for the Street Fighter engine. It's two-on-two, and the first person to lose a character loses the round. Players will be able to fight one-on-one or in a variety of party modes. "Scramble" mode, for example, has all four players on the screen at once. The brand new Gem system will allow players to customize their fighters' strengths and weaknesses to their choosing, making no two characters the same. Another title on EVO's big six list, Street Fighter X Tekken is sure to please fans of both franchises.

I Am Alive
I Am Alive
(PS3, PS Vita)

The world has come to an end and human civilization has fallen into ruins. It's up to you to reunite with your wife and daughter in a world that wants to kill you just for a drink of water. I Am Alive will include several new systems that will make the post-apocalyptic experience more real. You can take people hostage, bluff them away with an empty gun, or even bribe them with simple items like food and water. You will also have to keep good track of how hungry, thirsty, and exhausted you are and scavenge for food in an urban wasteland that has few resources to speak of.
