Top 5 Movie Based Games This Summer

Brave

Brave is the next offering from Disney Pixar, and the darker toned Scottish fantasy will be the first fairy tale foray for Pixar. Our cursed protagonist, skilled in archery, must save the kingdom from chaos as well as undo the blight on herself. We still have not been told whether or not the game will follow the plotline of the movie, but you will be able to play as several different characters, each with unique abilities, in this third-person puzzle action adventure. The PlayStation 3 version will support Move and the Xbox has Kinect functionality, but so far it looks like the motion controls are limited to minigames. Disney Interactive Studios has a long history in the video gaming field, and while the quality of the gameplay is still in question, the game looks visually stunning.

The Amazing Spider-Man
The Amazing Spider-Man

Spider-Man has had a rollercoaster relationship with the video game industry, whether it's providing movie tie-in games or something completely original. The latest entry, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, received mixed reviews, many calling it mediocre. Amazing is in the same dimension as the upcoming film, but follows an original story. Web Rush is the newest spidey sense in this adventure, allowing for real-time combat and navigational choices, making every moment intense and requiring an intuitive mind on the gamers' part. Combat will be an exceptional highlight, and has been compared to the free-flow style of Batman: Arkham City. It's an open world experience in New York City, with goons and larger-than-life bosses running the show. The Amazing Spider-Man may have a new face, but we're all ready to swing into action when this baby hits store shelves in June.
