Top 10 Anticipated Games For The Rest Of The Year

Dota 2
Dota 2

Dota 2 may not be on many console gamers' lists, but this upgrade to the mod-created RTS is being heavily watched by the PC community, especially among competitive players. The game sports over a hundred heroes to choose from, and each can be leveled up and geared for statistical boosts. Not for the timid, the learning curve will be harsh from the start and the pace will remain absolutely frenetic throughout (better keep a spare keyboard handy). Valve has taken great strides to promote Dota 2, with tournaments already on the professional circuit. It has since become the second highest payout game in competition play, with only StarCraft II edging ahead, but that may change with the official release later this year. Oh, and did I mention it will be free-to-play?

Pikmin 3
Pikmin 3

I'm sure the hardcore audience that Nintendo's working hard to bring to the Wii U will scream for ZombiU to be here, but Pikmin is the real gem loyal fans are craving. Mario took a backseat for once as the cute little pluckables scored the opening spot at Nintendo's E3 press conference this year, introduced by the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto.

Except for a remake of the sequel, the series has been shockingly absent during the Wii's tenure. With new rock Pikmin, some interesting strategic elements using the GamePad, and absolutely pristine visuals, this will undoubtedly be a system-seller for the Nintendo faithful come launch time.

Dishonored
Dishonored

We've only known about this Bethesda-published FPS steampunk game for about a year, but it's already edging up to its launch date.

Dishonored is set in a fictional world that harkens back to 19th Century England, with a devastating plague added for good measure. As former bodyguard Corvo Atano, you have been framed the Empress' murder and imprisoned. However, an unknown stranger brands you on the wrist, and the marking he leaves gives you supernatural powers like stopping time and blinking across rooftops. Your affinity for stealth plays a huge role is this adventure, which grants you plenty of freedom to shape the path, even as far as subduing every enemy non-lethally through the course of the game.

Of course, if you're up for a little bloodletting, you're thirst will definitely be satiated. It's a new adventure with a metallic edge, and has the makings of a cult following written all over it.
