Developer: Ubisoft Singapore | Publisher: Ubisoft
Release Date: August 5, 2009
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been part of video games for a few decades, and we've seen them in all possible visual styles and types of gameplay. However, Ubisoft promises a fresh new look for this brawler title, which is a 3D revamp of an old arcade classic.
Re-shelled will have you play on your own or with friends in the typical side-scrolling fashion we've come to love. There'll be plenty of classic enemies and bosses, but all with a brand new three-dimensional look. Luckily, this doesn't mean the game has lost its classic comic-style visuals. On the contrary, the title remains very much like it used to be and it even shows fun and flashy comic signs such as PTOOM!, WHAM!, POW!, and more. If you ask any Ninja Turtles fan, they'll tell you that's the way it's got to be!
The game can be played co-op with up to four players, but there are also survival modes to be played online or locally. We haven't been able to get our hands on this title yet, but from what we see in screenshots and trailers, it seems like another welcome addition for fans of the series, with cool graphics and a nice variety of scenarios, as well as exciting gameplay with plenty of combos and special attacks.
If you're into the famous quartet of turtles and enjoy classic side-scrolling, beat-'em-up gameplay, get ready to kick some shell this summer!
