Are
you a Shmup fan? If you are, then you'd know what
a "shmup" actually is. If you don't, then
you probably aren't.
All
right, I'll stop speaking in riddles and abusing commas.
A Shmup is a Shoot Em Up and Q-3 Entertaintment is
bringing one of the best - aside from Raiden 3 - to
the GameCube.
If
you're giving this preview the once over, you either
thought Chaos Field was another FPS or RPG, when in
fact it's actually a vertical space shooter; much
like the incredibly wonderful Ikaruga that was released
a year and a half ago for the Cube.
Chaos
Field features multiple play modes, five levels with
three stages each, three playable characters with
unique ships and characteristics, and a multitude
of different attacks and weapons.
We
know that it will definitely be appearing the UK,
but aren't sure about a North American release. After
all it's been about 15 years since shmups were all
the rage. You kids just don't seem to play them that
much anymore. Chaos Field promises to give that twitch
gaming thumb of yours quite the work out. Stay tuned
for more release details.
