Super Mario 64 Review

By: KCSport1

Super Mario 64 is a great game, probably one of the best on the N64. It has high-quality graphics, realistic gameplay, and cool music. The object of the game is to retrieve 120 of the Castle's "power stars" and save the Princess from Bowser. There are 15 courses that Mario has to beat to save Peach. Some of the names are "Cool, Cool Mountain" which is a snow level; "Tiny-Huge Island" in which Mario can be tiny or huge; and then there's "Tick-Tock Clock," where you're inside a large clock! The courses are very creative. There are also 6 Castle Secret Stars that you have to retrieve.

You start each time outside the castle, where you hear birds chirping and the wind blowing as if you're really outside. You walk across the bridge and enter the castle. The castle is the same one that's on Royal Raceway in Mario Kart 64. When you enter the castle, you hear simple music and walk around, entering certain doors and jumping in the paintings that lead you to other worlds. Mario has to jump, swim, and shoot his way to victory six times in six different ways in each course, plus get the 100 coin star.

Some of the things Mario can do are jump, stomp, shoot out of a cannon, trip, slide, crouch, climb, long jump, and even crawl! If you get the cap switches, that's even better. There are three different caps that you can get out of blocks. The Wing Cap is one. With the Wing Cap, you can fly (for a long time) to places around courses where you never thought that you could get to before! With the Vanish Cap, you can walk through some walls, and are invincible! (lasts for a short time) With the Metal Cap, you can walk on the ocean floor, and are invincible! This lasts for a short time also, but it has great music!

In conclusion, with Mario 64 being a Player's Choice Game, (and only 40 bucks!) it is a great buy and a great game for kids and adults everywhere.
