Note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the "icewind.ini" file in the game directory. Change the "Suppress Extra Difficulty Damage=0" line to "Suppress Extra Difficulty Damage=1". This eliminates the 150% and 200% increases to monster damage (and experience points) on the hard and insane difficulty settings.
