What's cool about The Cave is that you can solve puzzles in multiple different ways. For example, at one point our cave dwellers came upon a beast that would routinely breathe fire and destroy anyone that came near it. The knight could face this monster with his guardian angel, allowing him to distract it long enough for other characters to pass. However, the developers also showed us how you can lure the beast out with a hot dog and then capture it with a robotic claw using the scientist. It's all up to the player to find new and innovative ways to solve puzzles, and that makes multiple playthroughs a real treat.
Finally, The Cave allows for multiple players to join in on the action as well. Each player takes control of a different character, allowing them to be controlled all at once for much quicker and more effective problem-solving that everyone can enjoy.
The Cave was easily one of the coolest games I saw at E3; it was intelligent, funny, and addressed the adventure game in a way we're certainly not used to seeing. It's just saturated with Double Fine charm, and will make a fine addition to any gamer's library. The Cave doesn't have a release date yet, but be on the lookout for more info in the near future.
