New Legal Info, anyone can host this guide as long as they send me a link. 11/26/03 1.25 Actual video recording has started for the Video Walkthrough. 221k I've decided to take out the training ko's/bullets/etc..from the totals in stats. Mostly because viewing from the overall perspective, it really isn't part of the game. But...you have to do it to get to the 2nd mission, oh well. Huge update, I have been spending a lot of time on a couple checkpoints, to try and lose some ko's. I never thought I could have any less ko's than 27, and now I'm down to 16 :p. I figured out how to get by the three guards in extraction that attack automatically and won't stop. Which takes away 3 ko's from the chart, making a total of 24 ko's now for the whole game. :D Passed the guard by the ladder after blowing up the trucks. Another ko dropped from the chart, making a total of 23 ko's. Decided to set the alarm off for the keypad guard to enter Kalinatek instead of koing him, ONE LESS KO! Total of 22 ko's now. UbiSoft China, the people who made the craptacular ports for GC/PS2, are making Pandora Tomorrow... After telling Ccc they 150k couldn't host this walkthrough, they decided to go out of their way and put it up on their site. He still hasn't taken it down though, which means I might be taking legal action soon. Author's Comments ===================== This walkthrough is not like traditional 'write the walkthrough as I'm finishing the game' guides. My goal is to have the best possible stealth solution for every single part of the game, therefore there is no better way. People will explain "there are multiple ways to pass a part, but this is how I do it...", I try to stay away from that theory. Yes this is a one kill walkthrough, except it uses stealth. To me one kill isn't stealthy unless you add rules such as minimal ko's, minimal distractions, etc... I've revised my walkthrough too many times to count, trying to give the best description possible. This walkthrough is a well thought out work of art, and I WILL turn this into a downloadable mpeg to show everyone else who refuses to read it. See the Video Walkthrough section if you're interested. I love this game, it's one of my favorites of all time, besides Ultima Online of course, it has redefined how I view games. I'll have to admit, I've never played a single player game this much. This is for all the veteran players, who have already beat the game, but have realized Splinter Cell's true potential. Well you should of already beat the game, because you should never use a faq the first time through, it ruins all the fun of figuring everything out on your own. You are back for more, and now want to beat it staying as undetected as possible. There is no memorizing key codes, no wall mining Grinko, you should already know where to go. I don't like waiting for guards to finish their conversation or do their patrol, I could of already passed them. Please read the rules, they were made to narrow down each part into one single best way. I use a distraction instead of a bottle because it's faster, a lot harder to do, you don't have to carry a bottle the whole time, and both of them trigger the same level of suspicion, so why not? It's been really hard in some parts describing what to do, if I changed a part to a faster way, everything after that might start at a different time, I'd have to rewrite everything. Although this only happens because I'm trying to get the fastest time. Remember if you start from your own checkpoint and just check this faq for a certain spot, it might not work because our times are different. I keep a running list of the number of distractions in each mission, number of ko's, the time it takes to beat a mission, the number of kills, the number of lights shot, and how many bottles were used. See the stats chart. Kola Cell --------- Kola Cell was surprisingly released a day earlier than scheduled, which really blew me away, well it wasn't good for me since I didn't have Xbox live yet. Well it's finally here...the first downloadable level...Kola Cell. They added a few alternate routes to this level, and made the camera jammer useful for once. Then they decided to make every guard have about (on average) three different paths. A few were really random, it's harder than normal to describe a guard's path, I have to explain each "if" situation. The level is as long as mission 9: Chinese Embassy, and 2 minutes shorter than Abattoir, comparing my fastest finishing times. Weird how there are only 3 checkpoints, compared to other levels average of 10 checkpoints, and the 3 checkpoints were some of the longest in the game. ############################################################################### III. The Ports ============== UbiSoft decided to port Splinter Cell to Playstation 2 and GameCube, sounded great at first. One new mission, new gadgets, changed levels, etc...but was it? Just remember the Xbox and PC versions have the exact same level layout and game play. The GameCube and PS2 versions are ports of Splinter Cell, featuring completely different game play and level layout, the GC and PS2 versions are basically the same. This little ports review will focus on the PS2 version specifically. See the FAQ section for specific differences. Basically to sum up what I am about to explain is, they shouldn't of changed the game when they ported it. I view each situation in Splinter Cell as a puzzle, how to get by each guard staying as undetected as possible. The only reason I even like the port is because the game play has changed dramatically, giving me new puzzles to work with. Not one part of my walkthrough will work on any part of the port. Graphics -------- Okay, I really do not want to talk about the graphics. I never judge a game by how good it looks. But when it starts messing up the game play...I can't help but dislike it. Sure it's the best looking PS2 game, but comes at a huge price. The fps is so bad it's the choppiest game I have played on PS2. The 'soft body' curtains and spider webs look like they have 3 fps while waving in the air. The shadows are so nonexistent that it affects the game play. Dark locations aren't dark on the stealth meter. You have to experiment and check the stealth meter to see how dark it really is. New game play ------------- The game is now 10 times easier, which in turn makes it not as fun, anyone who says otherwise just doesn't play the game stealthy. There is very little room to explore, they took out all the alternative routes and cut off lots of extra hallways. There is only one hallway to go down, every time. Even the UFO room was taken out, I'm guessing to suit the new amazing linear game play. The game is linear enough, how do they figure chopping up levels will make it easier for the player? There is only one spotlight in the Abattoir minefield, and it's slower than normal. On top of the Abattoir roof, the light doesn't flash on and off, it just stays an orange color, making it dark all the time. There is no such thing as a guard with a flashlight. There is only one way down the roof into the Defense Ministry, rappelling, you can't climb the pole down to the balcony. In Abattoir, the first few stables with the turret gun is skipped. The end of Abattoir has changed so there are only a total of four people...one soldier, two guards and Grinko. There are a total of two dogs in the whole game, one in Chinese Embassy part 2, and one in the hedge maze of Presidential Palace. The Nuclear Power Plant mission you can really tell was made for the Xbox, it has the same type of game play...many alternative routes, no linear one hallway paths. Now the Kola Cell mission for the Xbox version was what really excited me, it was an update of the actual game. They didn't take anything out, they just tried to improve the game play. The game automatically saves at certain checkpoints in the game, now if you have a bad game saved with that checkpoint, you can't go back to a previous checkpoint. The only thing you can go back to is your previous saved game, which is only a couple per mission. The beginning of CIA HQ you watch a cut scene of Sam using a fake id to walk into the building, then watch him go up the elevator taking off his civilian clothes. In Presidential Palace, you rappel into a sewer and avoid the laser beams. You then end up in a hedge maze with three armored cameras, a guard and a dog, completely skipping the old part with the two guard, two dogs, and sniper up in the watch tower, which some people had a really hard time passing in the Xbox version. Tons of guards are now gone, about a third of them, for example in the Presidential Palace blackout in the basement, there are only three soldiers with night vision goggles. After coming out of the basement, outside by the water fountain, there are only two soldiers walking around, one up top and another down below. When sniping Nikoladze, he is standing up and much easier to see. Well, they said themselves that the reason they changed the game was to suit the different type of gamers on a different console, are they saying that the PS2/GC crowd is used to easier games? Bad improvements ---------------- I think because of the low fps, they lowered the joystick speed, it's about half as fast, which makes looking around a huge pain. Before when you could just check behind you in half a second, you have to spend two seconds waiting to turn. Sam looks a little more slender and taller, sort of stretched out. There is a new crawling through air ducts animation, the one you only have one speed with, Sam bends over almost letting his arm drag on the ground, it looks like the hunchback of Notre Dome. The reason it looks so messed up I think is because Sam is now stretched out so much they had to change the animation. The same goes for the new rappelling animation, to suit his new stretched out self. You can't see laser beams in night vision mode. Improvements ------------ The pistol accuracy has improved, the cross gets really small when not moving, and also gets smaller faster. The alarm meter is located at the bottom left of the screen and shows how many alarms you have set off and how many alarms you can set off before the mission is over, it disappears when you are not moving. Every interact menu during the game works faster. You can hear cameras from a farther distance away than normally. Smoke comes off of fire, and also a blur from the heat. The optic cable can see in night, thermal, and even normal vision. You wear the full stealth outfit/mask in CIA HQ. The new mission, Nuclear Power Plant, you start off with the arctic suit, it's basically a white version of the black suit. You do take it off about a third into the mission though. The spot light clip somewhere in the extra features where Sam is climbing the pole in the Xbox version, is in this mission. Also, pretty much all of the extra features were taken out in the PS2 version menu. Sam has spikes in his hair, it's not just a round head texture. You can use your d-pad while punching in the key codes, which is at the bottom of the screen for you. You can use the new binoculars to zoom in and out, just like the scope on Sam's weapon. The screen fades into the game after loading missions, not the best job, but it works. The story line has really improved, it is much more in depth, such as the part where Wilkes dies(now at the end of Nuclear Power Plant), is much more dramatic. The beginning introduction really helps develop the beginning of the game, and also explains how Blaustein and Madison were caught. Also a few of the missions have some cut scenes that develop the story more. The beginning of Police Station shows Sam getting on the plane and being introduced to Grimsdottir, then goes on talking about Nikoladze. The beginning of CIA HQ, it's the normal scene with Sam's daughter getting cut off, but at the end Wilkes pulls out a fake id card. When starting the Kalinatek mission, Wilkes stands outside the gate and says to be careful and Sam says "I've already got a mother Wilkes". The scene before the Nuclear Power Plant with Sam on the plane with Wilkes, Lambert talks about how the power plant relates to Nikoladze. The ending scene after Presidential Palace is essentially the same thing except on a boat. There are some new things Lambert says, a lot of new cut scenes, some are just changed to suit the new environment though. Most of the jokes are taken out, such as the Chinese Embassy sewer scene about the American fast food chains, and the beginning of Police Station where Grimsdottir tells you to go into the wrong room. You actually jump into the plane at the end of Kalinatek. Miscellaneous ------------- I liked how they showed the Xbox version of the PS2 commercial. Loading parts of missions takes about twice as long. The weirdest thing is that at the end of the first Chinese Embassy in the Xbox version of my walkthrough, for the extraction in the game it had no title at the bottom of the screen. Well, I d ecided to make my own, the one I made up is the exact same message in the PS2 version. The PS2 commercial says 'new features, new levels'...talk about false advertising. By four new levels they mean that the 7th mission, Nuclear Power Plant, is split up into four different load points. Now not one person thinks of level as a different load point, everyone views it as a mission and uses the words interchangeably. Technically legal, but from the consumer's point of view, false advertising. It feels like they changed some parts of the game I used to exploit to get by situations, have they been reading my walkthrough? A few examples would be when I would crouch at full speed in a certain spot to get a guard's attention, they actually lowered the ceiling low enough to where I can't go at full speed, only the air duct speed. Another is hiding behind this one door, you could go around the door as it was open and go inside before it closed, they now made the door bigger so when it swings open, there isn't enough room to get around it and inside, you have to wait for it to close and lock pick it the normal way. You can't even jump over Feirong's desk anymore. And finally, yes the demo has the same fps as the full version except for the kitchen part, the cause I think is they took out the reflections on the kitchen floor in the full version. Overall ------- I feel they destroyed a perfect game, the overall experience you receive from playing is gone. They tried to improve it, but failed. I hope this isn't something to look forward to for Pandora Tomorrow. Please get this through your head, the game play is not the same, and it has changed for the worse, but it's still worth playing, just not by me :). There is a better game out there, and it is the Xbox/PC version. ############################################################################### IV. Stealth Rules ================= In order of what to do to pass a situation: 1. sneak by unnoticed 2. create a distraction by jumping/running/barely being seen 3. create a distraction by using bottles, cans 4. create a distraction by using distraction cams 5. shoot lights 6. shoot cameras 7. smoke grenade/one airfoil to the body as a distraction 8. run by with no damage lost 9. grab enemy 10. shooting knockout gadgets 11. kill enemy Sneaking by an enemy without being noticed is the ultimate goal, if that doesn't work, use the least amount of distractions, then do it as fast as possible. Sneaking unnoticed overrules distractions, which overrules speed. Meaning if there is a way to pass a part without using a distraction, but it takes a long time, then do it. Speed is just a novelty. - use manual lock picks - no health depleted, unless a ko is involved - no memorizing keypad numbers to skip ko's - no wall mines - no killing, except for Nikoladze ############################################################################### V. Speed system =============== Sometimes it's almost impossible to explain what you are supposed to do. If I am able to tell you exactly how fast you need to be moving while crouched in very crucial scenarios, it'll make it much easier for you to understand. There are 8 speeds Sam can move while crouched. Whenever I say move at s1, that means speed 1, the slowest speed. Or if I say s5, that will be the fifth fastest speed. For s8 however, I will say crouch at full speed. ############################################################################### VI. Timing Guard's Animations ============================= Most guards do an animation of either scratching their head, looking around, or doing whatever. Maybe you decided it's possible to sneak by a guard because they aren't looking, now they will do an animation looking to the left and right, then you're spotted. They do an animation every 15 to 20 seconds, no longer, no shorter. Sometimes I will say to wait for a guard's animation, then go, giving you a 15 second window, which is plenty of time to make it to the next destination. The only problem is the fact that you only have 15 seconds, I never like to chance it and hope they don't look this way, because I want it to work every time. A good example is the guard in the Abattoir bathroom, you can actually drop down after he does an animation onto the sink, then go over to the laptop. Now when he does another animation you can go to the right of him and over to the shelves on the right into the hallway. The only problem is the only way to pass him is to jump up onto the bench, then up onto the pole and pull your legs up and pass him to the other side of the hallway. Now this will take about 30 seconds, which is way too long, and he does an animation that looks behind him on both sides, so you could be spotted at any time. Now knowing this information, It's easier to figure out why you were spotted, and if you have enough time to get there before they do another animation. ############################################################################### VII. Move Even Faster ===================== If you are doing a big fall while not crouched, Sam does a landing where his whole upper body falls forward to catch his fall. If you are doing a small fall while standing up, about half the size of Sam, he doesn't do an animation and you can keep running. The thing I found out is that his standing up big fall takes more time to recover than staying in crouch mode. That's only if you don't want to roll, most of the time you want to roll. If you are doing a big fall, let Sam barely touch the ground, and then hold the crouch button and move forward at full speed, so he rolls and doesn't have to catch his fall. A weird situation would be during Kalinatek, when you come out of the elevator that goes down, you have to crouch out of it, but when you land Sam does the very long animation of the silent fall. You really want the small fall while standing up, so what you do is after you drop out, before you touch the ground, stand up and you can just start running without any fall animations. You never want to do a small fall while crouched, unless you need to, because it takes way too much time. If you need to, you can do a small fall and also roll, unless the fall is really small, it might be hard to start a roll. To bypass a sneak fall on a small drop, jump up and when you land, do a roll. The only problem is that you create a noise as loud as a jump. Also, you move faster pulling your legs up on a zip line, as opposed to letting them hang down. ############################################################################### VIII. Tips ========== - It's faster to grab someone and walk them over to a dark spot. Rather than knocking them out and picking up their body and carrying them to a dark spot (unless it's a long distance like carrying Dougherty), though this way is stealthier when crouched. - Point your body in the direction you want to move in so you don't waste time waiting for your body to turn around. If your body is pointing in the opposite direction that you move in, you have to wait for your body to turn all the way around before you start to actually move. When you're against a wall and want to turn forward, just put your back up against the wall and get off, you will be facing opposite the wall. - If a guard is on a long patrol in a straight line, and you are trying to go his same speed, but a little faster to catch up to him for a grab. Most of the time he hears you, depending on how fast he is going. The best way if you have enough room is to start walking towards him at an angle, so you can still move really slow and he won't hear you. If you time it right, he will be passing by you right when you intercept with him. The best example would be the guard on the patrol along the fence outside of CIA HQ. - Jump and hold the move down button when rappelling, it will make you rappel farther. - Sneak by wall mines by crouching slowly, instead of disabling them. - You can crouch roll before you trigger a cut scene, and it will complete the roll during the cut scene. - Hold the left trigger to throw a bottle or can farther. - Throw a glass bottle at a guard's head to knock them out, or to take out lights. - While holding a guard after grabbing him, if you keep his body in between you and a turret gun, it won't shoot. If it ever gets to see a part of you, it will start shooting, killing the guard you are holding. - Just shoot at a sticky camera that is too high to reach, and it will fall down. - You can break some windows with your bare hand, i.e. most of the ones in Kalinatek. You can also run and jump into them and they'll break. - Hit an enemy in the back of the head, instead of the front, and they will be knocked out instantly. - Use sniper mode at a distance with thermal goggles on to see keypad numbers. - When shooting sticky shockers, you can bounce them off walls to hit enemies. - If an alarm keeps going off at a certain spot, and the mission is over. You forgot to hide all the bodies in complete darkness. If you leave a body in any lighted area, no matter if you kill everyone in the whole level, the alarm will still go off, a secret guard of darkness goes over every spot to check. Look at the top left corner of your screen and see what it says when the alarm goes off if you don't believe me. But that doesn't happen to us right? - When lock picking, there are four corners to choose from that trigger it to wiggle, think of it as an x. Also the triggers are like key codes, there is a specific way for every door, which works the same way every time. - On a ledge, if you don't want to hang when falling off, just move fast crouching and you will fall down instead, it's much faster too. - Crouch right after you jump, and you won't have to worry about if you're out of stealth mode or not. The only spot this won't work in is if you're on either a pipe or ladder. - While using the camera jammer on a camera, you can keep turning it on and off really fast to prolong the use of the jammer by about 2 times more. Make sure you are standing up to move faster also. - What I like to do to get to certain checkpoints on certain missions is to create a name for each mission and use up the three checkpoint saves for that mission. This way I can easily move around between situations I want to work on. ############################################################################### IX. Walkthrough ============== Each section is divided up into *real* sections of the game. If you don't move for a few seconds, a black bar will display the current objective at the bottom of your screen. Use this to find where you're at in the game. Also each paragraph is a new checkpoint, sections are more important, so you will find checkpoints might continue through another section. =================== Mission 1: Training =================== 1.1 Obstacle course ------------------- Go through the obstacle course. 1.2 Interrogate your opponent ----------------------------- Move to the left around the crates, s1 behind the guard and grab him, then interrogate him for the key code. 1.3 Force opponent to use retinal scanner ----------------------------------------- Sneak up at s1 behind the guard straight ahead and grab him, then take him over to the retinal scanner to the left and use it and knock him out. 1.4 Shoot the lights to pass the camera --------------------------------------- Shoot the two lights closest to the camera, then run to the door. 1.5 Shoot the camera -------------------- Hide at the edge of the wall and shoot the camera, then enter the door. 1.6 Sneak past the camera ------------------------- Crouch full speed and hide behind the crate in front of you to the right. Now wait for the camera to turn to the right, then stand up and run to the door at the end of the room. 1.7 Knock out and hide your opponent ------------------------------------ Sneak at s1 behind the guard and grab him, walk him to the corner of the shadow by the closest bookshelf and knock him out. Wait for the guard checking for the dead body to leave, then go out the door. Then into another door. 1.8 Cross the room silently --------------------------- Stay at s1 through this whole room, go straight ahead then jump up onto the metal grating to the right, then follow along avoiding the three chains, go across the glass and to the door at the end. Go down the hallway and into the door to the right. ========================= Mission 2: Police Station ========================= 2.1 Meet the contact -------------------- Move straight ahead around the corner, then to the right up the stairs. While moving up the stairs, crouch down so the guard doesn't hear you. At the top of the stairs is a ladder, jump up to it and climb your way to the roof. Once up top, stand up and run to the door trap in front of you, open it and drop inside. Crouch down and move to the end of the tunnel. Once you're out of the tunnel, climb the pipe in the next area. At the top, run and jump so you start to hang on to the zip cord a little ways from the ledge. There are three shelves to the right of you when you land. But before you land, press crouch to stand up and move sam in the direction of the third shelf from the right. If this is pulled off correctly, Sam will start running when you land, without a falling animation. Head towards the door on the right. Run full speed through this checkpoint. Open the door and go to the left down the hallway. Go into the doorway on the left and into a room, then to the door on the right side of the room. Once back in the hallway, keep moving towards the doorway at the end. Move down the stairs and into another doorway with a huge hole in the ground. Jump up to the pipe and move across the fire. Drop off of the pipe, turn left through the next hallway and into the first door on your right. Inside this room, go out the door on the left and keep moving straight towards the stairs. While running up the stairs, run in the middle of the stair case, in between the two flames. Move out the doorway at the top and you're in another hallway. Go inside the door on the left wall and into the room with the contact. Move around the table and talk to the contact in the middle of the room. Press interact once, wait for Sam to start talking, then press it as fast as you can until they're done with the conversation. 2.2 Find the black box ---------------------- Go outside the other door inside the room, and crouch down in the middle of the hallway looking into another room with thick smoke coming out of it. Crouch down outside of the doorway and shoot out the skylights with one bullet. While staying crouched, run to the right around the table and enter the door on your right. Outside the door, crouch full speed to the right following along the balcony until the last pillar from the white railing. Then stand up and run full speed to the opening in the black railing, jump across and land on the other side. Without slowing down, do a crouch roll towards the wooden fence. Either a guard will be coming from the left or right, nevertheless, if you do it fast enough, you won't have to wait for him to pass by. You will start hearing a conversation of a guard talking on the phone. Keep moving the same speed until you come to the window. Move at s4 along the wooden fence until you reach the opening at the end. Turn around towards the window on the right while hugging the end of the fence. Sam should land on the stones that are laying along the bottom of the fence, which won't trigger a falling animation. Follow along the plants and jump on the balcony in a crouched position. Do a soft landing and open the window. Hide until the guard inside comes to open the door, when you can't see him anymore, jump up into the window. Right before he opens the door, silently jump down into the living room and sneak across behind him into the hallway. When you make it to the curtain, stand up and run to the end until you come to the last door. Go inside and slide open the painting on the left to get the code for the keypad door. 2.3 Find Gurgenidze's dead drop ------------------------------- Use the new key code you just received on the keypad door opposite from where you're standing. Once outside the door go to the left along the balcony, jump up onto the railing and jump up to the zip cord. After you land, crouch full speed up the roof and go inside the door at the top. Inside you will see an elevator shaft, stay to the right side of it and fall off to hand. Drop down onto the two pipes and fall down to the bottom on top of the elevator. Open the trap door on top of the elevator and jump inside. Move across the room to the stairs that lead up to the door, lock pick it, and open the door. Go to the end of this hallway running full speed. At the end, move to the left and hug the right wall going down the stairs. Before you reach the tree at the bottom of the stairs, crouch down. On the ground, slow down and then move down the next set of stairs sneaking slowly behind the guards. When you get behind the first about half the way down the stairs, jump up and grab onto the ledge. Shimmy over to the right to the other wall where the plants are. Make sure you go to the end of the wall by the red light and pull yourself up, then drop down in the plants. If you did it fast enough you can just crouch full speed down the alley, watch for the window guard and wait for the patrolling guard to come down the stairs while hiding in the weeds. Slowly move to the end of the little gate and wait for the guard going down the alley to turn around, then follow behind him staying on the left side. Where there is a light on the wall opposite a pile of cardboard boxes, stay in the darkness before that spot. The guard will stop and turn around in the light. Once he moves forward, make sure the civilian above you in the balcony isn't looking your way. Then check for the civilian in front of you up in the window patrolling back and forth. Wait for him to move to the right or left, just as long as he's in between the windows and can't see you. Go across the light and into the weeds beside the stairs. Hide beside the stairs in the grass waiting for the guard to come down the stairs. Once he passes behind you, very slowly go to the bottom of the stairs and look up into the window, wait for the civilian to go to the right if he is standing there. Then run up the stairs staying on the right side against the wall. Go down the little hallway into another opening with a water fountain in the middle. Facing the fountain in front of you, there might be a civilian looking out a window in a building to the left, wait for him to move to the right and then slowly move over to the wall under the windows where he was standing. He is now facing out the window on the other side of the building, where you're supposed to go. Wait for him to move and slowly go inside the bushes. Then crouch full speed to roll into the tunnel. You might not even see the window guard, he randomly shows up at certain times, just like all the civilians in this area. 2.4 Get into the police precinct -------------------------------- Right away after using the computer to open the gate, roll through the tunnel, and go outside. Make sure the civilian in the window isn't looking in your direction. Then slowly move along the right wall, passing behind him at s3. If he stops, it doesn't matter, you can still sneak just behind him into the gate. Once you reach the opening on the right side, start moving at full speed staying in the middle of the alley. There is a guard over to the right, but he has his back to you, so move down the alley to the left. When you get to the first street lamp, stand up and start running. At the end by the dumpsters, turn to the right. A guard will be moving towards you at the end of the alley by the gate. Wait for him to stop and turn around. Check to make sure the civilian in the window isn't looking at you. Crouch full speed up the alley, and hide in the dark opening on the right wall, behind the guard. Wait for the guard to pass by you and then move behind him to the wall opposite the one you are beside. Then move down the alley and stop right before the open gate in a dark area. Wait for another guard to pass by you into the gate. Stay close behind him and when he gets onto the wood floor, move into the dark corner on the wood floor behind the pipe. Wait for him to pass the second pole and then crouch full speed into the corner to make a noise. When he hears you, he will pass you to the left off of the wooden deck. Slowly move to the other end of the wood floor, follow along the wall to the right at full crouched speed around the steps. Keep going along the wall until you get to the fence with an open gate. Check for the man in the window inside the building, wait for him to move to the right. Then stand up and run full speed inside the gate. Go down the alley and jump on top of the dumpster, then double jump up. A trick to not hang is while doing the wall jump, wait in the air a while after jumping, then press jump again for the wall jump portion, so you just pull yourself up without hanging. If you do a really quick wall jump, you will fly over to the right really far and hang, then you have to go to the left and pull yourself up, which takes too much time. 2.5 Locate agent Blaustein -------------------------- The rest of this mission isn't timed. Run full speed to the left and down the stairs, enter the key code for the door and open it. Run full speed until you get to the wooden stairs, then crouch down. At the bottom of the stairs, stand up and run full speed again. Once you reach the middle of the second jail cell, crouch back down moving full speed. Then start slowing down at the middle of the third cell. Follow behind the guard down the hallway and stop at the top of the stairs. Once he enters the room, sneak by him and hide up against the wall with the window, beside the door. Wait for him to turn towards his computer, then slowly start moving down the hallway speeding up the farther you are away from him. Once you reach the door with a guard inside, crouch full speed down the hallway along the wall with the window. Keep moving full speed into the room with the doctor and into the next where the two bodies are. Hide in the curtain and when the camera faces the left, crouch full speed in between the two beds and then back to the curtain to trigger that you've found Blaustein. 2.6 Access the surveillance system ---------------------------------- Leave both rooms and back into the hallway, stand up and start running full speed. Turn left down the hallway, open the door, and move up the stairs. Slowly at s3 move behind the curtain along the wall to the right. Once you reach the curtain, start moving full speed along the wall. At the corner, slow down to s5 and pass the double doors. In the next corner, crouch full speed along the wall into the automatic door at the end. Turn left and move up the stairs. Sneak behind the two workers sitting down, following along the right wall. You can speed up a little bit in the middle of both of the workers. Go inside the second door on the right. Move to the room's corner, which is opposite the door you came in. Don't move all the way into the corner, stand about a foot away towards the door. Wait for the door to close, then jump up to make a noise. Hide beside the bookshelf and wait for the guard to stop by the corner. Slowly sneak behind him hugging the bookshelf moving towards the computer. Now use the computer. Go to extraction ---------------- Hide in the corner opposite the computer, beside the other bookshelf. Once he stops in the spot he started in, in front of the computer, move behind him and out the door. Sneak back out the way you came, behind the two workers, go down the stairs, and stay against the wall on the left. Open one of the double doors and go outside to the van parked in front. =========================== Mission 3: Defense Ministry =========================== 3.1 Infiltrate the East wing ---------------------------- Run straight towards the edge of the building, your running should be perpendicular to the edge. Run just left of the little arch wall that is above the pole on the edge of the building. Now you will land on the railing edge of the balcony, right in the middle of it, when you land you need to do a roll. After the roll is finished, stand up and jump from the middle of the balcony, to the pipe on the building. Slide down and when you are to about the middle between the two balconies, jump, jump off to the right, you should barely touch the railing of the balcony, and then do an easy standing landing, so you don't do any falling animations, then open the door. 3.2 Find and interrogate Grinko's driver ---------------------------------------- Once inside, stand up and run straight towards the door and hide to the right of it. Ideally you want to get there before Lambert finishes the sentence... "Then his driver will be." Hide behind the door when it opens, once a guard comes inside and passes you, go inside the door before it closes. Hide behind the door and watch the patrolling guard, wait until he goes down the hallway opposite from you. Sneak into the darkness and then into the door on the left. Wait for the patrolling guard to turn his back, then you need to sneak into the darkness and into the door on the left. Go down all the stairs to the bottom, for both cameras, just wait till they look the opposite way and run under them, then when they look the other way, move down the next set of stairs. At the bottom, shoot out the light hanging from the ceiling. When you open the door at the bottom, stand up and run to the left following the shadow along the wall, cross the alley when you pass the second pillar and move towards the blue car. Run to the right of the blue car and once you reach the driver's car, crouch and slow down. Go to the left of the first pillar, then go to the right of the second, you should be following just behind the driver, grab him as he passes the second pillar. Interrogate him as you are walking back towards the door along the shadow on the wall. Once you reach the driver, pull out your gun and bump into him. Just when he turns around to shoot at you, put your gun on the driver's head. Now back up to the third pillar and hide behind it. Make sure to point the driver towards him. He will come around the pillar and tell you to release him. Start moving along the wall into the corner. He will then run into the wall where you were hiding and stop in front of you. Then he will turn around and head towards the middle of the parking garage. Once he does this, move along the wall until you get into the elevator shaft. Hide here waiting for him to stop looking for you and come back. He will then enter the door, follow behind him as he does this. Wait for him to go inside the door, then follow behind him and move up the stairs. Sneak by all three cameras by staying up against the right wall and waiting for them to turn in the opposite direction of you. Hide underneath them as you reach the mid levels. After passing the cameras, pass the door and go up the wooden planks. Move along the wall until you come to a drop, fall off and the driver will stay up there. 3.3 Infiltrate the South wing ----------------------------- Use your optic cable to look into the hallway. Wait for the patrolling guard to head to the left. Open the door and cross the hallway to the other side by the plant. Both guards should be at the other end, with the patrolling guard at the end of his patrol. Stand up and run along the wall until both guards hear you. Hide behind the plant opposite the door you came out of, the hallway guards will go check it out and stop in front of you, then pass you down the hallway. Move in the opposite direction as the guards up the hallway and into the door on the right. Once inside the room, use the light switch on the right to turn off the lights. Move across the room to the door opposite the one you came out of. Lock pick and open the door. 3.4 Deactivate the laser grid ----------------------------- When you come out the door, go to your left and jump up on the balcony railing, face the wall with the window that you want to get to is on, do a double jump off the left wall onto the pipe, the same wall the window is on. You should get to the window by the time the guard finishes his sentence with "Want me to send him down?". Crouch fall into the window and right away, move opposite the window you came out of to the other side of the cabinet against the wall, right next to the door the guard comes out of to spit on the food. If you hide in that little dark corner area opposite the cooks, the guard won't see you when he comes in. After the guard opens the door and comes inside the kitchen, he will start walking towards the cooks with his back to you, when he does that, move out of the room quickly and to the double doors. Go to the right, up against the wall where the railing is, jump over the railing and do a silent fall. Do the same for the next railing, except not so close to the wall or you will land on a light. Move under the stairs and stay in the middle of the fourth pillar from the wall and the big pillar by the stairs, move into the light very slowly towards the guard by the computer. About the fifth pillar, when he suspects something is there, start walking back into the shadows, go towards the benches and go around all the pillars until you get to the other side. Hide in between the third and fourth pillar from the wall and watch the guard go towards the benches. Notice under the stairs against the pillar, there is a shadow line that goes straight to the plant by the desk, use that to go to and from the desk. He will stop and wait a few seconds, when he turns around, crouch at almost full speed to the desk and use the computer. 3.5 Laser-mic the glass elevator -------------------------------- Move back following that shadow by the plant and into the darkness under the stairs. Move back around to the other side under the right set of stairs where the colonel comes down. When the colonel sits down in his chair at the computer, do the same thing you did before with the same guard. Move towards the light and back out, go around the pillars to the other side, hiding at the fourth pillar under the left stairs. Wait for the guard to stop and turn around, then go over to the colonel at the desk and grab him, take him along the shadow by the plant, under the stairs, and over by the bench. Once the guard gives up looking and goes back to his position, use the retinal scanner, and knock the colonel out by the bench, then enter the door. Get up against the wall right in front of you and go to the left edge staying behind the wall. Watch the camera, once the camera looks the opposite way, stay to the right and open the double doors leading outside. While Lambert is talking, try to get to the left of the statue in the middle before the laser mic starts working. Two seconds after Lambert says "before they reach the top." at the end of a sentence, start using your laser mic on the elevator. 3.6 Infiltrate the North wing ----------------------------- Put the mic away, and run to the right of the double doors the guards come out of. Then start climbing right away and get into the window up above the double doors, right as the guards come out of the door, you should be dropping down into the window, and also Lambert shouldn't finish talking. 3.7 Find and access Nikoladze's computer ---------------------------------------- Dropping down, two soldiers will come out of the elevator, run to the left of the elevator, put your back up against the wall standing, covering the switch, make sure your body isn't overhanging the corner so they don't see you when the doors open. Wait for the second soldier that comes out to turn his back to you going in the opposite direction as the other one, then quickly at s2 go into the elevator and use the elevator to go up, staying beside the elevator switch until the doors close. Once the elevator doors open, pull out your lock pick and use it on the first door on the left when you come out. Go inside the room, and jump onto the desk. Facing the clock, jump to pull yourself up into the air duct. Go to the end of the air duct and drop down into the hallway. Move opposite the keypad door down the hallway, and shoot out the light by the camera. Then sneak into the closet on the left. Climb up the ladder and onto the roof. Go to your right and jump up onto the next level. Rappel down the wall as close to the window as you can, pull out your gun and look down to the left as far as you can so you shoot the glass, if it doesn't break the first time, shoot again. Now when the guard does his patrol to the right, drop in the room, and use the computer. 3.8 Access Nikoladze's computer again ------------------------------------- Hurry and hang outside the window. For some reason if you use the computer before the three soldiers come in, it doesn't count. Once they leave, wait for the patrolling guard to move to the right again, then use the computer. 3.9 Reach extraction -------------------- After using the computer, hurry and go out the door to the left before he turns around. Once out in the hallway, go to the left and into the door that use to be jammed. Go down the stairs and out the door at the bottom, then go down another set of stairs outside the door you just opened. Run to the left of the wooden pallets and into the elevator shaft with the pipe. Just run forward off the ledge and you will grab on. Then slide down to the ground and go to where Grinko's driver used to be to meet up with Wilkes. ======================= Mission 4: Oil Refinery ======================= 4.1 Infiltrate the refinery by the main pipeline ------------------------------------------------ Turn to the right and go up the ladder against the wood pillar. Climb up to the top and go to the right following along the three pipes combined together. At the end of the pipes, turn left onto the main pipe, following along the pipe above you that you can hang on. Once you get to the end where you can't go any further, jump up to the pipe and bring your legs up, then go across it. Once over it, jump down and run forwards to the end, once you hit a wall, turn to the right, run and jump straight ahead and grab onto a pipe. Shimmy over to the left passing the corner, keep going until you get to the end. Then drop down onto the main pipe. Crouch down and go straight ahead under the red piece. After you pass under it, go to the right onto a metal grating, then jump up to a zip cord. After landing, go to the left under the main pipe. Once out from under it, go to the right and climb up a pipe against the main pipe. After you reach the top, jump down onto the main pipe and then go into the dark opening. Then go to the end of the pipe. 4.2 Trail the mercenary technician ---------------------------------- Once out of the pipe, climb the ladder that's farthest away from where the men are walking. Once up to the top, drop down to the right, on top of the metal bridge. Crouch down, then move over to the tool case, jump on it and up to the pipe above. Put your legs down in between the parts you don't need your legs up for. The first part do the hand over hand 7 times, then pull your legs up. Go all the way to the end, you will see the warplanes cut scene by the time you get to where the next metal bridge is, hang down and wait for the patrolling guard to turn his back to you, drop down silently and move in the opposite direction where the guard is. Go up the stairs and quickly pass the pole on the left and hide behind the wall's corner at s4 so the guard doesn't hear you. The two guards and the technician will be gone by now and a crouching guard will stay there. When the crouching guard starts to move down the hallway to the left, go all the way to the end and hide against the right side of the wall in the shadows, opposite the jammed fence door. Make sure your all the way to the end closest to the guard with your back to the wall crouching. Wait for the guard to pass you and then keep going down the hallway. You will now see the technician and the guards, go towards the water tank on the right. The water tank looks like it's about to explode. Turn on the water tank switch and move at full speed crouching along the fence around the water tank until you come to a yellow box, the next gray box after it is where you need to put your back up against while crouched. Move as far towards the yellow box as possible while still against the gray box, and wait for the two guards to pass you. Once they do, get off the wall, and move down the hallway to the right and pass the flames. Jump up onto the green box with red poles behind it and jump up to the pipe above it, pull your legs up and move towards the glass window. Then wait for the glass to break. 4.3 Get the technician's briefcase by any means ---------------------------------------------- Once the glass breaks, move inside to trigger another cut scene, drop down when possible and go out the door to the right and up the stairs while crouching. Another cut scene, move up the stairs and to the left. Another cut scene where the technician goes inside the door, go down the first part of the staircase to your right. Hide in the right corner, and wait for the shooting guard down stairs to start moving to the right, once he does, start moving down the stairs full speed while crouched and once he passes the pole to the right, stand up and start running, you need to make it inside the door before it closes. Once inside, go to the right. Stand up and run full speed through the rest of this part. Unlock the door in front of you, go straight and open the next door. Then go to the right and down the hallway, you will see an explosion. Now you will be back at the same spot you sneaked by the crouching guard. Go to the right and then another right. Chase after the technician going down the stairs. Follow close behind and you will be able to grab him at the bottom of the stairs. Interrogate Piotr, knock him out and pickup the briefcase. ================= Mission 5: CIA HQ ================= 5.1 Access the CIA central server --------------------------------- Run full speed straight ahead to the right of the tree post staying in the dark area. Cross the middle of the street to the other side. Be sure to jump off of the ledge into the street so you aren't slowed down. On the other side of the street, jump completely over the edge so you aren't slowed down at all. While staying on the grass, keep running full speed along the edge to the right towards the van. Once you get to the wall the pipe is on, crouch down and fall off of the ledge. Crouch full speed along the wall and climb up the pipe. Once you reach the top, jump down to the right onto the roof, then into the opening on the wall. Go through the little room with the trap door and drop down inside it. You can either go left or right, they're both about the same speed, so since left is the fun way, lets do that. Staying on the left side, stand up and run at full speed beside the benches, not against the wall. Once you come to the guard that is facing the middle behind a desk, crouch back down and slow down. Stay against the wall, and jump over the desk, then go over to the door. Use the optic cable to see where the guard inside is standing, once you see his back to you, open the door and enter the room and hide behind the middle desk. Wait for the guard to go to the left and stop, then he'll start coming back, once he starts coming back, go along the left side and wait for him to turn his back to you at the end of his patrol by the door you came out of. Once he does, go outside the next door back into the lobby. Now you're in the hallway again on the other side of the metal detectors, stay to the left and go through the metal detector and through the room to the doorway on the left. Now you will see a guy on the phone, and another guarding the elevator. Sneak behind the guy on the phone right away, but stay in front of the plants. You want to make them see something, they will see you about right in the middle of both of the plants. Once they do, move back as fast as possible, and go behind the plants this time. Go along the wall towards the elevator, once you get to the bench, go in front of it and inside the elevator, go down. Once the doors open, go out of the elevator and to the left down the hall. 5.2 Retrieve the SC-20K ----------------------- Timing must be perfect for the next checkpoint to work. Stand up and run full speed, passing by the door the civilian comes out of, and crouch down hiding at the corner of the hallway waiting for the passing guard to go to the right. Once he passes, go out into the middle of the hallway, then turn around and come back. Crouch at full speed and get into the door on the left the civilian comes out of before it closes, use the computer to get the server room code. Stand up and run out the door at full speed and go back down the hallway the guard that passed you to the right was going down, stay at the corner and wait for the two guards to start their conversation. Right when the two guards start talking, move along the left wall and go behind the guard talking, staying as close to him as possible going at s3. Once you get to the end of the window, quickly at s6, stay to the left side of the hallway along the wall. Following the shadows, pass the guard by the soda machine, on the right side, then move back to the left where the open door is, across from the keypad. Stay right in front of the door at max stealth. The guard by the soda machine will come patrol down in front of you, and go back. Now hide right in front of the open door, when the guard that was talking comes down the hallway and right when he looks at the keypad, move into the lighted window room at s3 and grab the guy standing there. Take him to the left corner where its dark, and knock him out. Pickup his data stick which has the keypad number across the room. Turn on your thermal vision and wait until you can't see the keypad guard when he goes to the left into the closet. Hurry up and enter the keypad door before the guard comes back. Now there are two workers, the patrolling worker should be going to the left if the timing is correct, once he goes back to the right in between the two shelves of servers, move to the left of the servers, but go behind the desk and into the next door. Inside the next room, use the computer for another keypad number. Enter the key code and open the door. Right away go to the right, stand up and run full speed, they won't hear or see you at all. Go down the stairs and around the corner doing a U-turn, then when you get to the next corner, go to the right and crouch by the pole on the left side of the shelf, towards the fire extinguisher. Wait for the guard you just passed to come towards you and look at the shelves, then move over to the corner by the fire extinguisher, the other guard will come to the same spot and stop. Right when the second guard to get there stops, stand up and run full speed to the right towards the door. Hug the wall to the left and move into the doorway. Keep going down the hallway, to the left up the stairs and pick up your gun on the shelf in front of you. You don't need to pick up any extra gadgets, because you don't use them at all. As cool as it'd be to not pickup the SC-20K, when you get to the elevator, it isn't powered ;/. 5.3 Access the CIA central server --------------------------------- Go through the to the right and into the hallway, stand up and run full speed against the right wall, passing the man on the phone. Then move left down the hallway to a patrolling guard on the right. Move along the left wall by the white double doors until you get to the middle shadow where the stealth meter is still less than four. Now move in as close as you can towards the white doors without going in, staying in the darkness. Turn your camera around and check to see right when the guard passes the pillar moving to the right. Crouch full speed into both double doors to the keypad on the left. Stay crouched, but crouch at full speed when moving the whole time up until you enter the keypad door. Stay at s5 the whole time inside the server room, and right away stay against the left wall. The guard will see you a little off from the corner, and he will go investigate in the other room. Keep moving till you come to the end of the railing. Jump over it and jump down to the rectangular server box underneath you. Then jump down to the chair, remember to crouch when falling, and use the computer to get the key code for the war room. He will go back into the doorway, just go back up the way you came, on top of the server box, and double jump up to the railing and go to the door. 5.4 Tap Dougherty's computer ---------------------------- At the first set of white double doors, stay back and wait for the guard to pass the pillar in the middle moving to the right. Sneak out to the right, along the wall, and back to where you started outside the double doors. Now go along the right wall and then over where the guard is, wait at the end of his patrol in the darkness, while staying in the hallway. When he turns his back, sneak behind him and into the doorway to the left of the cubical room, but crouch in the corner by the doorway so the patrolling guard can't see you when he passes to the left. When the patrolling guard passes you, go behind him and down to the metal detectors where the security guard is. Stand outside his window to the left and jump, he will go investigate, jump through the window following right behind him. Go out the door and when he turns to the right, into the metal detectors, you keep crouching along the wall of elevators at full speed, keep going and then turn down the hallway. You should of finished this before the guard comes down the two stairs. Sneak by the worker when he turns away and go down the hallway. At the end to the left, go inside the opening down some steps to the armored camera, and a keypad door. Stay at the bottom edge of the stairs to the right, and you can access the keypad from there, wait for the armored camera to turn left and go through the door. Wait in the dark area right in front of the window, once the man is off the phone, he moves over to the soda machine, sneak behind him and into the door where a turret gun is. Then enter the elevator and go up. Once off the elevator, sneak by the two workers talking, stay behind the chalkboard and computers to the right, keep going along the wall and out the door. Move into the office area and wait outside his office to the right of the door, and wait for Dougherty to leave his office, then go inside to use his computer. 5.5 Kidnap Mitchell Dougherty ----------------------------- Go down the hallway Dougherty went down staying on the left side. Go into the double doors on the left of the hallway. Inside the projector room, sneak over through the aisle toward the guard by the door, hide in the aisle in front of the railing where the guard is standing. Wait for them to finish their conversation, the man speaking will pickup his cell phone and say "Excuse Me". The guard by the door will move behind the projector, once he moves out of the way, jump over the railing to the door in front of you, lock pick it and go into the hallway. Go outside the door to the left, keep going past Dougherty against the wall on the right side where the break room is. Hide in the dark opening where there is a picture of some guy standing. Wait for Dougherty to open the door, then sneak in before the door closes. Keep following right behind him as he goes down the hallway, right before he goes outside the last door, he will get a drink of water. Grab him when he gets a drink of water and knock him out. 5.6 Take Dougherty to the rendezvous point ------------------------------------------ Look out the window for the patrolling guard outside. He will go to the right, then come inside the room outside the door, then go to the right again, and come back to the left. Once he passes you to the left, open the door and pickup Dougherty, start walking out of the room and outside through the automatic door. Go through the middle of the four benches, then go to the left towards the fence. The guard will go inside again, so you can stand up and keep going. Take him down all the stairs and to the door, put him down and open the door, before going in you should pick him up and be in a crouched position. 5.7 Incapacitate the CIA security --------------------------------- Well your timing will be perfect if you did exactly what I did, so this part will be easy. Go into the door and move down the stairs, stop by the doorway and use your camera to look around the corner where the worker is standing. When the worker comes towards you and crouches by the huge pillar. Stand up, stay against the wall on the left, and go around the four huge boxes. There will be a patrolling guard that does a little L shaped patrol pattern, he will be beside the door by the time you get to the other side of the second huge box, make sure to stay against the wall. Stay standing up and go to where the guard was standing by the door, you want to go out the door before the guard turns around at the end of his patrol, so crouch down right before you get to the door so the guard won't hear you. By the time you start going down the metal stairs, the guard underneath you will be going over to the right, under the stairs. Start heading down the stairs as quick as possible, don't stop and keep going down the ramp and to the ladder. You want to hide right by the ladder, stand on the edge as far as you can on top of the ladder, and let the guard patrol right beside you. Turn around so you're facing the opposite direction of the ladder, and pull your gun out so you throw the body off your shoulders and it falls to the ground below the ladder. Climb down the ladder as the guard turns his back to you and goes up the ramp. Once at the bottom move along the shadow over towards the fence behind the standing guard and two men beside him. Wait for the patrolling guard right above the ladder to move to the right up the little ramp, then sneak up the man talking and grab him, pull him over to the fence and knock him out. Go get the body under the ladder, and move over to the fence, watch for the patrolling guard above the ladder to move up the ramp again, and drop the body in between the two men standing by the truck. I've tried everything, but you really do have to knock out this guard. ==================== Mission 6: Kalinatek ==================== 6.1 Infiltrating Kalinatek -------------------------- Stand up and run as far as you can down the middle, just right of the yellow car, when the door opens you should be about in the dark area, right when the dark area ends, crouch and sneak up to the wall, in the middle of the two phones from the right side. Right when the guard passes you to the right, sneak into the door before it closes. Go up the stairs and pick up the can under the right front tire of the car, don't get up against the car or you can't pick it up, just stay a step away. Throw the can at the two orange cones in between all three guards. Sneak behind the yellow car and the white van, wait for one of the two guards talking to go check out the bottle, when you see him, go over and jump onto the crate. Just crouch at full speed out the window, no need to jump. Jump up to the pipe and start moving forward, keep going along the zip cord, then jump over to the building, and rappel down the wall. Jump twice when rappelling and you will break through the glass and end up on the ground. Jump onto the elevated blue seat, and sit at the very end closest to the automatic doors the guard comes out of. After the doors open and he starts moving forward, move behind him into the room he came out of. 6.2 Open the fire doors surrounding Ivan ---------------------------------------- Look straight up and shoot out the light in the middle of the room, now crouch full speed over to the stool by the metal detectors. Shoot out the other light through the metal detector. Now hurry through the metal detector and hide up against it and the right wall with a glass window. An alarm will go off, two guards will come out the door, and tow others will come from down the hallway to the right later on. Now this is where you really see the AI in this game, think of yourself as a homing device, the guards will just follow you around for some reason no matter how slow you move. You want to make the first guard that comes out of the door head to the right side towards you. Once he is about to reach the middle of the room, move at s3 along the metal detectors to the other side of the room. After you pass by the first guard, slow down so you make the second guard that comes out of the door move towards the other guard. Now that the first two guards are in the corner you are in, keep going at about s2 along the wall towards the door. A third guard will come from the hallway, he will do one of two different things. One will be move towards the first two guards. If he does this, move into the door before it closes. If he doesn't, he will start to move towards you, don't panic, just move into the doorway for the checkpoint. Wait there until he turns his back, as soon as he turns, move into the room. Once inside the room head to the right and jump up into the air vent as quickly as possible moving straight up against the wall you face when you jump in. One or two guards might come in, or not. Wait here for 20 seconds, then move along the wall inside the air duct towards the little vent light is coming out of and check if there is a guard by the door. If there are no guards that you think will come inside, jump out the vent. Stand up, run around the fish tank and open the door by the glass window before the cut scene starts. Once the cut scene is over, sneak over to the right along the glass window into the glass door opening and hide in the dark corner. Once their conversation is over and the guard goes into the room you came out of at the beginning. Go down the hallway passing the wall mine along the blue seat, and then go to the other side of the hallway opposite the wall mine when you get to the doorway leading into the hallway. Stay against the glass window on the left side of the hallway, keep moving slowly towards the last door on the left. Let them see you acting like you're about to enter the room. They will come investigate, turn around and enter the door behind that one, hiding against the bookshelf by the door. Wait for both guards to come down the hallway, when they pass you, just go behind them and up the hallway. Crouch into the opening by the elevator at the end of the hallway. Crouch at full speed out of the opening, and just when you are about to land, stand up so you don't roll or do a slow landing, it just keeps you running at full speed. Go down the hallway and move to the right, by the table, pickup a can by the soda machine, and go down the hallway. Still at full running speed, pass the two guys shooting the computers, and pass the open door, run by the first pillar on the left side. Hide just behind the pillar in the dark spot, while watching the two guards come down the hallway, when both of them are facing you, throw the can against the wall on the right side to make sure both see it. Hurry and run into the room with the two hostages, remember to crouch down at s3 once you come within the mine territory or the mines will go off. Once you reach them, disable the mine on the left, crouch back down and disable the one on the right. 6.3 Disarm the bomb planted in the Archives Room ------------------------------------------------ Talk to a hostage pressing interact really fast 8 times. Sneak out the door and check up on the two guards outside, make sure their backs are to you, then hug the wall to the left and into the dark area. These two guards are random and don't do the same thing every time. So you might have to wait a while for them to get into position. Once the two guards enter the door with the hostages, go down the hallway towards the first mine. Go to the end and inside the keypad door, go to the left down the hallway and into the first doorway on the right. Go over the dead body and across to the other side of the room opposite the door you came out of. Go inside the doorway and into the next room, then go to the other side of that room opposite the doorway you are standing in. Then go to the left in the next room to the last doorway leading back into the same hallway. Go to the right to the door at the end of the hallway, lock pick it and go inside. Once inside go to the left and roll through the fire. Disable the bomb. 6.4 Restore power to the fire door circuit ------------------------------------------ Go out the door and into the hallway, go to the left and to the left of the glass room on the top floor of the auditorium sneaking by the two guards. Go down the left staircase staying against the left side. Once it starts getting light, go back a little to be in darkness. Watch the guard on the middle level to do an animation, once he does, go down the steps hugging the wall on the right side. Go down the middle aisle, and then go to the left of the stage. Go down the stairs and watch the cut scene, quickly hide to the right of the mop bucket, against the equipment. Wait for two guards to come running by you, once they do, sneak into the basement, make sure to hug the walls on the right side. Hide right by the pole in the corner, and jump. The guard by the switch will come investigate, once he passes you, sneak by him and hit the switch. 6.5 Open the fire doors surrounding Ivan ---------------------------------------- Hurry and hide back in the dark area by the pole in the same spot as before. Two guards will pass you to go back to their spots in the basement. Once the last guy passes the pillar, sneak back up the stairs and up the aisle towards the guard on the top floor. Watch the guard patrolling back and forth on the top floor, and once he starts going left, stay against the wall on the right side, and go up the staircase. Wait for the patrolling guard to go to the opposite side of you once your up to the top, then sneak over by the doorway opening staying against the wall. When he goes the other way now, opposite of the standing guard, sneak over and grab him, walk him over to the dark hallway by the bomb you defused, knock him out and get the key code. Enter the keypad door and sneak up the stairs slowly, right by the table at the corner of the wall. Stay against the middle of the railing that is opposite where the two guards are standing in the big window. Stay in the light and wait for them to see something, then hurry along the wall on the left side crouched at full speed until you come to the hallway. Cross the hallway following the shadow to the window room they are in. Wait till they start moving towards the door and also have their back to you, then stay along the right side of the hallway passing them at full crouch speed. Then move into the infirmary undetected, hiding in the corner against the wall where the med kits are located. Now while in the infirmary, wait for the guard to stop outside the door. When he does, jump up to make noise, then he will go to the left, right when he turns to start going down the hallway. You need to crouch in the doorway waiting for him to pass by to the left, once he does, be very quick about this without making noise, go to the right hugging the wall and around the corner. Now crouch at full speed, go to the end of the hallway and into the server room. Stand opposite the room the guy is standing, but behind the big server box, jump up to make noise. Right away go around the server box to the right, while he goes along the other side. Hurry and use the computer. 6.6 Find Ivan before the Russian Mafiosos kill him -------------------------------------------------- If you don't do it fast enough the guard you distracted earlier will be coming down the hallway and see you during the cut scene. Hide opposite the side you jumped, right against the big server box, you will be at max stealth. You have to wait a while, but when he stops back at the computer, leave the room but beware the patrolling guard down the hallway from before. He stops at the end of the hallway during his patrol. Go through the emergency fire doors, then go up the stairs and in the room with the two guys talking, wait for them to finish talking. Once one of the guards moves around the counter, stops and faces the other direction, sneak behind him into the bathroom along the right side. In the bathroom, go really slow and jump into the vent without disturbing the guy taking a leak. Once inside the air duct, go straight across to the other side so you are in complete darkness. Now go along to the opening at the other end following the dark side of the air duct. When going through the air duct, the guy about to kill Ivan is going to see you, just keep going until you get to the opening, stay to the left side at the edge. Exactly when he starts to turn around, drop down behind him, stay right behind him as close as possible and when you get to Ivan, start talking to him, press talk 17 times as fast as you can. 6.7 Rooftop Extraction ---------------------- When you're finished, hurry and go out the door before the guard turns around. Go to the right down the hallway into another room, and use the switch to activate the elevator, then go inside and go up. Crouch full speed over to the left, they will see something moving no matter what, so just jump up on the crates on the left side and stop at the top of the crates. Move your camera to see the guard in the next room, wait till he leaves, then jump over the roof. Jump up the two crates and onto the next roof. Jump down and over to the left along the dark area towards the doorway the two guards come out of. Keep moving at full crouched speed along the left wall, but slow down when you pass the last crate with three cans. The two guards will more likely hear you than see you, so be sure to stay at about s4. Now you should be in the corner to the left of the doorway. Just when they come out, sneak behind them and into the next room. Sneak along the right side until a few steps before the window, then stand up and run inside the next room, stay against the window wall once inside, and run to the right side of the porta potty. Double jump over the roof, facing the porta potty wall. Keep running and go to the right down the hallway. Turn left and up the stairs still running. Once inside the next room, run to the left of the pillar towards the crate with a pallet on top of it. As soon as you reach the crate, crouch down and wait. There are three guards, one stays up top throwing grenades, another is behind a pillar to the left shooting at you, and the other is behind the pillar to the right. Always watch for the guard up top, if he ever starts to throw a grenade, start moving. If the guard that hides behind the left pillar isn't there yet, you must wait for him to come down the stairs. Ideally, if the guard up top doesn't throw a grenade, wait for the guard behind the left pillar to shoot 4 shots. Once this happens, stand up, you must stand up before you start running or the grenadier won't throw a grenade, which buys you lots of time. Run full speed towards the grenadier, once you reach the left pillar, hang a left towards the stairs. Make sure not to bump into anything. Once you reach the top of the stairs, keep running left and stay against the right wall in the hallway opposite the checkpoint doorway. Once you reach the checkpoint doorway, run across the hallway avoiding gun fire and into the doorway. Move around the pallet to the other side, where the ammo is located. You will now see three men standing down at the end of hallway, stand up outside the door opening and run down the hallway towards them until all three see something. All three will come investigate and you go around all of them to the right inside the next room at full crouched speed. Move out the doorway leading back into the hallway behind all of them. Once you get to the doorway at the end of the hall, stand up and run full speed along the right side along the wall passing the mine until you reach the doorway. Now crouch down and slowly hide in the corner to the right against the vertical 2x4s. A guard that is patrolling in this room will pass by you, once he does, slowly move along the wall until you come to the next doorway. Once outside the hallway, crouch at full speed, enter the first door opening on the right, go up the stairs, start slowing down before you reach the top. There are two guards on the ground, one will be moving towards the barrels, and another is standing beside the barrels. You need to hide in the corner by the railing above the barrels. Wait for the guard moving towards the barrels to turn around and move the opposite way. Make sure to not pause once in this part before the cut scene. Once he does this, start moving at s3 along the right wall along the metal balcony, jump over the railing and do a silent run fall, where you don't hang on the railing, but simply jump down. You should land on the two wooden pallets, go on them to the right of the guard as slow as possible and don't bump into those two barrels, go around the left of them as close as possible until you get to the wall they are against. Keep going into the corner, stay crouched and go full speed against the right wall, going towards the new hallway, staying in the dark until you hit a cut scene. After the cut scene of Wilkes getting killed by two guards, follow the guard that is climbing the ladder, keep going behind him all the way to the top, make sure not to bump into him. Once at the top, he will be shooting at the helicopter, not noticing you standing there beside him. Simply wait till both guards reload at the same time, then stand up, run and jump towards the helicopter, crouch rolling into the mission complete. ========================== Mission 7: Chinese Embassy ========================== 7.1 Rendezvous with the agency contact -------------------------------------- Skip the conversation and double jump over the wall to the other side, start moving down the alley. Crouch full speed the whole time, stay to the left of the alley and pass the dumpster over to the left against the wall. Now keep going down the alley, once you get into the lighted part, stand up and go full speed to the end of the alley. Once you get to the fire barrel, go to the right and up the ladder. Wait until one guard on the ground passes by you to the right, then you need to move across the boards really slow and up the ladder, keep going across the boards and jump up to the rope. Go across the street and stay in the middle until a guard coming down the street passes under you, then go across and drop down against the door. Stay against the wall, keep moving down until you come to an opening between the buildings, stand up and jump across the gap. Slowly go along the roof at s3 until you come to the end, jump off into the street darkness by the two dumpsters, rolling into the darkness line that leads to the fence across the street. Once you land, stand up and start running at full speed along the shadow towards the gate to the right, go inside it. Keep going full speed to the ladder and go down before the two guards see you. Once down the ladder, jump down into the sewers. Go straight ahead, then go to the left when you get to the wall at the end. Down this tunnel you will see three guards talking, wait for them to finish their conversation, then follow behind the three guards as they go right. Just stay back a little ways, and once you get to the first horizontal tunnel under the second light, stay back in the darkness, a guard will turn around and check behind him, then catch back up with the others. Keep following behind them until you get to a red light under a ladder, hide in the opening in the wall where the first red light is behind the fence doorway. Look around the corner and the guard will check behind him again, and stop right under the ladder, then when he turns around, go out and follow behind the three guards staying in the darkness. Wait for their conversation to finish, then follow behind them until the closest guard to you goes into the right tunnel, when he does, go up the ladder right outside the tunnel he went in. On the ladder, wait for the guard on your left to turn his back, once he does, climb up the ladder. Sneak over and climb up the red ladder, go to the right and when the wooden boards end, jump up to the pipe and climb across. Jump down and into the window on the left. Move across the room to the left corner, and climb up the pipe. Turn to the left and talk to the agency contact in the doorway. 7.2 Collect intelligence with the laser mic ------------------------------------------- Move straight ahead and jump up to the next level, and another level where you can rappel. Rappel down to the ground, jump three times. Quickly go straight to the second alley, passing the doorway on the right, and turn to the right, then go to the left and watch for a guard. He will be patrolling in front of you, move towards him and stand beside him on the left side. Wait for the guard beside you to turn around start moving the other direction. Once he does, wait for the other guard down the alley to turn his back, then follow behind the guard going down the alley. Stay by the left wall, not against it, but about in between the guard and the wall. Stop when you get to the guard standing there to your right, wait for him to turn around, and the other guard a little ways away will start going to the right at the same time. Then just go along the street staying on the left side, into the next darkness area. Stand up and start running down the street. Once you get to a fire hydrant on the right, move into the alley to the left opposite of it. Keep running at full speed, then take a left to the end, and then take a right, you will see a guard walking in the opposite direction of you with a flashlight helmet. Start crouching now, and sneak to the left of him and hide right against the barrel on top of the cardboard box, let him stop and pass behind you going back down the alley you came from. Once he's gone, move along the right wall in the darkness. Stay in the shadows and to the right of the van along the wall. Slowly sneak by the guard walking towards you by going to the right of him, once you pass him, crouch at full speed across the street towards the truck by the gate. Stay to the left of the street pole against the wall, sneak behind the truck to the right and hide over by the wall in the darkness. Wait for the guard during his patrol to get in front of the semi, right when he does, move along the shadow across the street towards the semi, go under the front of it and very slowly behind the guard while he is still standing there. Keep going to the front of the second semi following along the shadow, right away roll under the front of the semi and stand up and run along the right wall. Then cross the little bridge and crouch into the bushes area. 7.3 Rendezvous with Coen ------------------------ Laser mic Kong Feirong in the window, and then in the limousine. There are two guards, one moves through the middle and over towards the bushes. The other patrols along the other side and down the middle, once the guard by the bushes goes towards the two lion statues, move over to the red wall behind where the guard by the bushes stands by the doors. The other should be by the doors on the left side, wait for the guard by the door to do his little fake patrol, where he moves to the middle and turns around right away, that's your key to start moving across the doors and behind him, stay along the shadow across the street towards the barbed wire wall. Go along the wall to the right and go up the pipe over the wall. Drop down and go to the right, then talk to Coen. =================== Mission 8: Abattoir =================== 8.1 Destroy the antenna broadcast ability ----------------------------------------- Right away move to the end of the fence staying against the right side at full speed crouched, turn right hugging the fence and keep going beside the box behind the guard in front of you at s3. Go to the left behind the guard in front of the switch that turns off the pool. Hurry and jump up onto the roof of the little switch house. At s1, crouch across it to the other end staying against the fence, drop down and at s2, go towards the corner where the dumpster is. Pass the guard to the right, that is standing in front of the door. Then jump onto the dumpster, then jump over the wall to the minefield. Do not be heard or seen by any guards during the minefield. At s3 go over to the fence, climb over it and silently drop down to the other side. You don't have to worry about the spotlight, as it's out of the way through the whole minefield if you do it fast enough. There should be a dumpster to your right, and a crate to your left. Go in between them and to the left of the wood that's laying up against a crate, move to the next crate behind that one to the left, crouch full speed behind it and follow along the fence to the dumpster. Then to the right, in front of you, jump onto the crate, it's the second box from the fence. Go along the crate to the end, then drop down. There will be a white box in front of you, stay to the left of that against the brown crate, then go around the brown crate hugging it all the way to the other side of it. Now go to the right, towards the doorway where the two dumpsters you need to jump on are located. Jump on top of the dumpster by the med kit, then run and double jump off of the wall the dumpster is on up into the tunnel that leads to the roof which holds the satellite. Go out of the tunnel and onto the roof. Follow along the cement and across the two white boxes, stop about half way in between the first two skylights. Once the light goes out, move over to the pipe, jump up to the pipe, it doesn't matter if the light is on. After making it across the pipe, wait till it's dark again and move along the piece of metal, two wooden boxes, and piece of wood to the rope, you must reach the fence again before the light turns on. Jump up to the rope and go across to the wall, jump down. Wait till it's dark and climb up the fence, and jump down once over the other side, then disable the antenna. 8.2 Locate the Hostages ----------------------- Run over to the door on the right, hide behind it when it swings open, once the guard turns his back and starts running, go inside the door before it closes. Open the next door to the right, and then put your back against the wall opposite the door you opened. Now move towards the stairs, and stop right after the pole, but before the railing. Let the guard run by you and outside the same door as the other one. Go into the door you opened before it closes, and go down the stairs and out the next door at the bottom. Jump up onto the railing in front of you, and shoot a diversion camera on the blue wall closest to the bathroom wall opposite of you in the left corner, use the noise. Right away drop down where you are standing on the balcony. Hug the wall into the hallway going left, go through the double doors. Go down the hallway then to the left, get inside the air duct, but wait for the conversations to end and Lambert to talk to you to get the new 8.3 objective at the bottom of your screen. 8.3 Beat the executioners to the hostages ----------------------------------------- Move straight through the air duct, then go to the right at the end. Guards will pass above you, move over to the pipe your suppose to climb and shoot the metal grating, twice if you need to until the really fast music starts playing. Climb up the pole and keep going along the roof at s2. Jump down the hole and nobody should see you, they should still be over by the air duct. Crouch full speed to the fog area into the freezer. Possibly the hardest checkpoint in the game, luckily I made it easy for you. Right away, you have to be quick about this, crouch at full speed to the right, then to the left towards the new doorway. Once you get to the doorway, slow down to s3. Now stay to the right of the doorway, to the right of the equipment, with minimal turning. Pass the first box to the right, now when you get to the first opening, go to the left into the middle of the room. A guard that patrols the middle of the hallway will now be right in front of you, stay right behind him at s2, until you get really close, then s1 to the right of him when he stops. Stay against the equipment, right next to him, so as he turns around, you are passed him. Now keep going straight until you get to the wall, watch the turret gun, and wait for it to turn to the left, then crouch full speed into the new doorway on the right. Once you reach the doorway, slow down to s3, and stop before the next doorway, moving your camera to watch the guard right by the doorway. There are three guards in this room, one by the doorway, another by the next doorway, and another in the middle. The doorway guard looks to the right, then straight ahead, and then to the left. Once he stops and looks straight ahead, slowly at s1 go behind him, don't go past him or he will see you. Now when he looks to the left, move a little further, up to where the hanging pig is right in front of you. If you pass the pig, he will see you. Now when he starts turning again, slowly at s2 go behind him to the left towards the wall, but to the right of the barrel in the corner. Keep going towards the new doorway, along the left side of the equipment, passing the horizontal barrel, then to the end of the equipment. Now look at the equipment at the end, you will see a big X on the side of the last piece. Move so you are in between the end of the equipment, and the center point of the X. Now watch the patrolling guard by the new doorway, once the patrolling guard moves closest to you in his patrol and stops. You need to point your body towards the wall opposite the equipment and jump up to create a distraction, if you were facing the equipment, you would hang. Quickly at s3, move back to the horizontal barrel and jump up on it. Wait for the patrolling guard by the new doorway to pass by you, right when he does, hurry and s3 over to the new doorway. You need to double jump off the side of the doorway so you grab onto the pipe above you. Get in line with the middle of the side of the doorway, and double jump up. Now that you are hanging on the pipe, move forward towards the new room once. So when Sam moves while hanging, he just uses his arm to move one full time. Nobody should see you here, pull your legs up and watch the guard in the new room looking for you. He will be by the turret gun, wait for him to turn around so he is facing where you're facing, with his back to you. Right when he does, start moving forward to the end of the equipment and drop down as soon as you can. By the time you drop down, he will be back to his normal patrol position. Go behind the turret and disable it. Silently jump up onto the controls for the turret, then over the barrel to the other side of the turret. Move along the doorway as close to it as possible without going in it towards the newest doorway in this room. Slowly get as close to the wall you double jumped off of, where the doorway ends, but don't go past this edge, or the guard in this room will see you when he is turning. Now watch the guard in the room, watch his patrol. He will look four different ways, then keep facing towards the new doorway. Wait for him to look towards the corner of this room you are facing while watching him, then when he does his next animation, he will be looking to the left corner of the room, opposite the new doorway. Right when he does this animation, you need to stay along the right wall towards the new doorway. Sneak at s4, as quickly as you can to where the boxes are in the corner. Now watch him again, and wait for him to do that same animation you went along the wall before, then go through the doorway at s4. Go down the hallway to the left, then another left to go down another hallway. To the right is another doorway ahead, three guards in this room, one right by the door, another patrolling the middle, and another standing in the middle. Once the guard patrolling the middle stops, turns his back to you, then starts moving in the opposite direction of you. Sneak behind the door guard hugging the wall on the right side of the room at s1. Staying against the wall, keep going and pass the guard that's standing and looking towards the middle, he won't see you. When you get to the end, pull yourself up over the equipment to get to the other side of the room, then into the air duct on the ground beside you when you land. To get into the air duct, move at it in the direction it goes in, not perpendicular from where it goes, otherwise you will keep grabbing the edges and pulling yourself up. Go through the air duct to the end. Once out of the air duct, stand up and run down the stairs at full speed, then hug the wall to the right and use the switch as fast as possible. Then jump over the railing, crouch down and go inside the doorway before the guard comes into the room. 8.4 Locate the Hostages ----------------------- Now you have to do this part very quickly or the first turret gun's timing will be off. At the start, stand up and run as fast as you can out of the tunnel and to the doorway with the curtains, then slowly at s2 hug the wall on the left side behind the guard, hide in the darkness against the wall opposite the new hallway. Once the guard you just passed moves out of the way, move onto the little wooden rug in front of you between the doorway and the hallway. Right when the guard to your left turns around, and moves back into his little room. Move down the hallway you're facing, start slowly, and once you get to the middle of the first stable, crouch full speed passing the first stable, and move into the next one on the left, across from the turret gun. Move to the left of the haystacks right by the corner, but against the haystacks, so you're at least stealth level 1. A guard will come out into the hallway from the left, next to the turret. Wait 2 seconds with him standing there, once he is about to turn around, stand up and crouch back down so he can see something. He will come and investigate right in front of you, he will stop and then turn around after a second. Follow behind him until he gets into the hallway between the stables, then you stop right before the hallway in the darkness and watch the turret gun. Right now the turret gun should be going to the left and about to come back. Once it starts turning to the left a second time, hurry and go out of the hallway to the left where the two barrels are at s4. Stop in front of the second barrel, the turret gun now can't see you because you are behind the middle wall. Stand up and move your camera to see the turret gun, make sure to set your body facing the new hallway, because you're about to run. Wait till it looks all the way to the left, then at full speed standing up, run out into the hallway hugging the wall on the left. The turret gun will shoot at you, but hit the wall instead. Crouch back down now, go down the hallway until you get to another hallway on the right. Go into that hallway and to the left in the first stable, jump up on the ledge and go to the right through the spider web, fall behind the two turret guns, then disable them. Be quick about this, go over to where the two bottles are in the corner to the left, move to the left of them a little bit against the wall and jump to make noise. Then hide back in between the turrets. Two guards will come and investigate, the first one will stop and check out where you jumped, then the other will go down the hallway where you came from. Once the first guard turns around and stops by the middle wall in the stable, slowly at s1 hug the wall where the bottles are, going left down the hallway. Once you get some distance, start going faster, then stop at the last stable and hide behind the wall before the turret gun. Wait until the turret looks to the right, then rush over full speed crouching to the middle wall opposite the turret. Make sure you're facing the new hallway where the curtain is, now when the turret looks left, stand up and run as fast as you can through the curtain to the right into the new hallway. Go down the hallway and hide in the first sewage drain opening in the wall on the left side, exactly in the middle of the drain opening against the wall. Wait for their conversation to finish, and once the second guard passes, quietly move out at s3 and keep going down the hallway where they came from staying against the left wall, hug the wall on the left side at the end and turn down the next hallway to the left. Stay here and use your camera to watch the two guards patrol back down the hallway towards you. Wait for them to stop by your, once they start going again down the hallway, stand up and towards the stables. We do this so they don't come in and start attacking with Grinko. Keep going straight through the curtain and go to the right in the first entrance. Run down the middle of the room so the turret guns can't hit you, and then disable both of them. Go into the opening on the right and talk to the three Chinese dignitaries. 8.5 Protect the Hostages ------------------------ Stand up and run out, go down the middle where the turrets are, pass the stables, to the wall in the middle, then go to the right and through another opening and to the wall there. There will be a cardboard box to your left, and the edge of the wall to your right. If you don't understand, it's the wall closest to the opening the soldiers come out of on the right side. Now get in between the cardboard box and the edge of the side, put your back up against the wall, then take it off so you are facing the hostages. Three soldiers will come in and one will be on the other side of the wall trying to hit you, but he can't see you so he won't shoot. The other two will be on the left side trying to hit you. Once the guard closest to you on the other side of the wall starts moving forward towards the hostages, he will run diagonally, then turn straight, when he turns straight, knock him out in the back of the head. Then hurry and go around the other side of the wall where the soldier you just hit was camping. You must do this fast or else they will shoot you. Now once the two remaining soldiers turn towards Get all the way up to the bullet holes, by the pillar, but don't go past the bullet holes, or the two guards will hit you. Now they are shooting at you and stop, once they turn around to start running towards the hostages. Stand up, run towards them, and hit the crouching guard in the back of the head closest to you. Keep going at full speed following behind the other soldier, don't go too fast or too slow, if you go too fast you will catch up to him before he reaches the end of the stables, and he will turn around and shoot you. If you go too slow, he will kill the hostages. So try to get him right at the end of the stables, by the chain, right when he turns to the right towards the hostages, you can hit him in the back of the head. Now go to the right where the captured soldiers are at, crouch down and hide behind the second wall from the opening where the attacking soldiers are. You should be by a diagonal stack of white boards against the wall. Two more soldiers come running in to throw grenades, one will come in and run right by you, hit him in the back of the head. Now stand up and run back to the middle where the other is, and hit him in the back of the head as he is throwing the grenade. 8.6 Kill Grinko ---------------- Hurry and crouch over to the farthest right opening where the soldiers come in, behind a shelf. Grinko will be trying to hit you running up and down the hallway. You need to go out into the hallway for a split second, and then come back into the room before he shoots you. Grinko will eventually pass all the openings, and come towards you, once he passes the opening in front of you, go to the left around the wall to the other side where Grinko was hiding, and hide there as Grinko runs inside the room. You need to stand up and face towards the room where you're about to run, so right when Grinko stops at the corner and shoots towards the hostages, you can run in and grab him. Then knock him out. ========================== Mission 9: Chinese Embassy ========================== 9.1 Infiltrate the Embassy via the upper floor ---------------------------------------------- Go over to the back door to the restaurant, stand at the top of the steps. Jump up onto the dumpster, staying against the wall the door is on. Now you have to do a running double jump off of the wall the door is on, towards the van. Where you need to land is on the edge of the green and white striped awning, at the very end closest to you. Now that you are on the awning, get as close to the brick wall as possible, and do a standing double jump and you will land on the fan, which is on the wall the door is on where you previously jumped. From this fan box you need to get to the very edge of it, closest to the wooden planks above you, now double jump off the wall while holding move forward in mid air, so you pull your body up onto the wooden plank. Run across the wooden boards into the broken down building and hide on the couch to the right, on the cushion. Wait for the patrolling guard with a flashlight to come out of the hallway, right when he comes out, sneak at s2 behind him and out onto the balcony, climb the pole up to the zip line and go across to the next building. Once you pass the third window, drop down onto the ledge under you. Follow it along the building until you get to the pipe, then climb up the pipe. Go straight ahead and fall into the vent, onto the table in the room. 9.2 Access Feirong's data in the basement ----------------------------------------- Run down the hallway straight ahead and into the doorway by the fire extinguisher. Go to the right into the wall opening, put your back against the wall with bullet holes. Go to the other end of the wall and slide down the pole. Put your back against another wall with bullet holes and go to the end. There will be three soldiers shooting computers, shoot out the light that's right next to the door. When two soldiers have a conversation, they will end it with "Yes, Sir.". Right after that, slowly pass to the left of the soldier standing in front of you, then follow the shadow in a straight line towards the door. Once passed the chair, in the really dark area, crouch full speed to the door, open it and use the computer inside. Open the other door that leads to a new hallway, shoot out the first light on the ceiling and go down the hallway. 9.3 Destroy the trucks carrying nuclear weapons ----------------------------------------------- The fast music for some reason keeps playing throughout this checkpoint. Keep going down the hallway and into the door at the end. Sneak up the stairs and stop right before the door still in the dark. Check to see the middle patrolling guard, while you're passing the door handle, he can see you at a certain spot in his patrol. When he turns around to go to the left, towards the camera, he can see you until he passes the middle of the room. Otherwise, you can go out the door. Sneak at s1 out of the room to the left right behind the guard standing in the doorway, and keep going along the wall until you come to the corner. Wait for the patrolling guard in the middle to come towards you and then stop. Once he does, jump up to make noise. The guard by the door will come investigate, when he does, sneak to the left of him staying along the wall he was standing by. Keep going along the wall at s3 until you come to the end. Then go to the right, down the new hallway and enter the door at the end of the hallway on the right, opposite the keypad door. Let the door stay open and crouch at the end of the desk, just so you can still see the guards going through the keypad door, but they can't see you. Once they enter the keypad number, wait for the second guard to go in and then sneak in crouching at full speed behind the second guard. Quickly jump over the door, make sure you are as close to the hallway as possible when jumping up or the turret will hit you if it's in the right position. Quickly pull yourself up and put your back against the wall and pass behind two vases. Jump up onto the last vase and then jump up to the opening in the railing. Wait here and watch for the guard on the same level to do an animation, once he does, jump up to the pipe and keep going along as fast as you can to the end of the flag by the star. As soon as you get to the star, turn around and pull out your pistol. Shoot the middle of the big chandelier in the middle of the room. Now the retinal scanner guy and his buddy already came out of the double doors, wait for them to start going down the stairs, once they do, shoot the light by the retinal scanner. Now you have to wait till all four guards have their backs to you, there is no exact route. When all of their backs are turned, quickly move along the pipe towards the retinal scanner and pull your legs up. Eventually both guards will come back up to the retinal scanner and one will use it. Once he starts moving towards the retinal scanner to use it, start moving towards the railing and drop down as soon as you can. Now get behind the guard that he is letting into the room, as the guard in front of you is walking into the room, you need to follow behind him. But as the retinal guy is moving back into the corner by the railing, he looks towards you, so you have to wait till he is done looking towards you and then go as quickly as you can, at about s2, then s3 in the room to the left and hide behind the wall on the opposite side of the window, wait for the door to close and then open the window and drop out onto the ground. Turn right and go towards the arch doorway, stay on the right side of the opening, against the lamp post and the wall. If you go too far over towards the opening, the dog will smell you. Wait for the guard that walks across the bridge to come towards you, and turns around. Right when he does, stay at s4, go outside the doorway and onto the ramp, the ramp is the section of cement from the water up to the bridge, now slow down to s3. Keep going along the ramp until you come to the first light on your right, now go in between the two sets of lily pads towards the wall in a diagonal direction. Keep going along the wall until you see the next ramp beside the bridge, at the corner of the ramp, go up it to the left and stay along it until you go around the light against the wall. Once you pass that light, go against the wall now at s2, all the way to the end of the red light. Wait for the patrolling guard closest to you, to pass by going towards the bridge you passed. After he passes, move towards the metal gate at the end of the wall, start slowly, then stand up and run full speed once you get to the end of the last bridge. Then enter the next next door inside the little area. Look at the top of the stairs for a light, shoot out the light and hide in the doorway, wait for the guard to go down the stairs and stop, then he will move over to the other light on the left. Once he does, go up the stairs and into the door. Go into the door on the left, then down the stairs. Go to the right, straight towards the next door at the end of the room. Crouch under the first shelf, then jump over the next and drop down before the last white box, before he turns around. Wait for him to turn to enter the keypad. Once he does, jump on top of the next shelf and wait for him to enter the keypad and then open the door, when he turns the knob, crouch at full speed towards him and hide over by the railing to make noise. Do this part very quickly, he will come to investigate, jump up onto the first cardboard box by the railing, but hide in the darkness against the other box opposite the railing. Right when he passes you to go down the steps, jump up to the next cardboard box and then crouch roll inside the door before it closes. In the room, hide in front of the light switch, use your camera to check for the guard in the middle of the next room, once he turns his back to you. Go outside the room and stay under the camera, wait for the camera to look the opposite way and then sneak at s4 in front of the boxes that are in front of the camera. Stay to the left of them and go in between the two shelves straight ahead to the right. There will be a bunch of cardboard boxes in between both shelves, double jump off of the right corner against the boxes and shelf, holding your move forward button, towards the cardboard boxes. Now you will land on a little ledge, then jump up to the shelf closest to you. You need to stay crouched and go full speed towards the shelf opposite the one you are standing on, and jump across the middle of the room. If you did it correctly, you will be hanging on the end of the shelf across the room, pull yourself up and watch the guard who just saw you jump. He will be patrolling around, he will come towards the shelf you are on, and then go around it. Once he goes around it, and the other patrolling guard in the middle of the room turns opposite of you. Stay against the wall on top of the shelf, not too close or you will run into a beam. Now crouch at full speed and jump towards the metal bridge, you need to land on top of the railing and onto the bridge. Once you land, quickly roll into the doorway, into a cut scene. After the cut scene, stand up and run down the rest of the railing, and shoot the gas tank in between the two trucks to blow them up. Then climb down the trap door under the stairs. 9.4 Use Feirong to unlock his computer -------------------------------------- Follow behind the guard patrolling, move into the first opening in the wall on the right side. Stay in the corner closest to the guard and jump up to create a distraction. You must jump at the correct time, when he is 75% of the way towards the next circle lit area. If you jump too soon, he will see you, if you wait too late, he won't hear you. While still inside the opening in the wall, hide standing up against the wall closest to the guard. Once the patrolling guard passes by, sneak behind him all the way into the third opening in the wall. A colonel will come down the hallway, get a call about the drunk general, then turn around and run down the hallway. Follow him while he goes through the keypad doors. Take a left and go in the door before it closes, stay close behind, when he gets to the first keypad door, wait for him to go in, then move over on the right side of the doorway so it can't close. He will go up the elevator, once he's at the top, push the button. Go up the elevator, run to the next keypad door, use the thermal goggles to figure out the key code. Enter the door, then go straight ahead to the right to another keypad door. Use the thermal goggles to figure out the key code, then go inside to the room with the drunk general. Go straight and take a right, roll into the cut scene with the general. Then just stand up, and jump over the desk, run behind him, grab him from behind, move to the computer, and force him to use the computer. 9.5 Meet Coen for Osprey extraction ----------------------------------- Stand up and run full speed the whole time. Get out of his office and take a left through the double doors. Then go right and through another door. Go left and through the two red curtains, cross the room around the railing. Then go down the stairs to the window, crouch and open the window. Jump out of the building and go straight to the stairs up to the helicopter. =============================== Mission 10: Presidential Palace =============================== 10.1 Recover the Ark Interrogation File --------------------------------------- Double jump up to the first ledge in front of you. Go to the end of it and fall down so you grab onto the edge. Fall down two more times to the ground. Move to the other side of the ground where another level is, jump up to the grass level and move into the corner against the wall. While facing the wall with the pipe, double jump up to the pipe and climb up. While holding the move right button, and facing the wall you are climbing, jump off the pipe. You will grab onto the ledge, and then pull yourself up. Jump up to the next horizontal pipe and shimmy across. Once you get to the end, drop down and you will land on another ledge. Jump up to another horizontal pipe and shimmy across, once you get to the end, drop down. Then shimmy across to the right around the corner. Once you get to the end, drop down while holding the move right button and you will grab onto the ledge. Pull yourself up and stand up, do a running jump to the other ledge. Then run and jump to another grass ledge with a little bush. Slowly move opposite the main wall until you fall off and grab onto the ledge. Shimmy across to the right and pull yourself up next to a pipe. Go all the way to the top of the pipe but don't climb up yet. Now this part is very random where the guards start in their positions, there are two guards, each has their own dog, one patrols in a square around the field, and another goes back and forth along the wall where the railing is. You might have to wait a while for this to work. Wait for the guard right in front of you going along the railing to pass to the left, and his dog passes you. Then wait for the spotlight to pass by to the left around the same time. Climb up the pipe, jump over the railing and hide behind the big rectangle stone statue in front of you, so the spotlight doesn't see you. You have to also time the guard going in a square around the field, you have to make sure he is out of the way when you go to the statue. The ideal spot for him is to be farthest away from you by the grass hedges going to the left, at the same time as the guard in front of you going to the left. While hiding behind the statue, wait for the spotlight to pass by, then move down the middle in the shadows towards the grass hedges and into the grass opening on the right. Once inside the opening, go to the first left opening and go to the right then do a U-turn until you come to a guard between two lamp posts. Grab him and take him to the corner behind you, then knock him out for a key code. Wait there for the guard on the other side of the gate to turn his back to you and start moving in the opposite direction. When he does, go towards the gate and enter the code to get into the gate. Move to the end of the street to the left, the opposite side the guard is walking. Then slide open the little opening on the building and jump inside. Once inside, go up the stairs and to the right through the doorway out into the main room. Stand up and run past the last pillar on the right to trigger the guards coming out of the double doors. Then turn around and run back in between the four pillars where the double doors are located, before going in between the pillars, make sure the lasers are gone. Hide right next to the double doors the guards come out of on the left side. Four guards come out, when the last one does, move inside the door behind the guard before it closes. Go to the right to the bottom of the stairs, and jump on top of the radiator, then jump above it to hang. Shimmy to the left until you fall off onto the stairs, move up the stairs right before the three lasers and jump over the railing towards the door you need to get to. Go inside the door, and sneak across the room against the left wall into the corner, opposite the door you came out of. Half way there, put your back against the double doors so the two guards down stairs don't see you. Once to the corner, keep following along the railing, against the wall, behind the soldier on the mid level. Hide in the corner waiting until he passes you. When he does, quickly go up the stairs and the other guard will be walking towards the keypad door. Stay against the right wall and sneak up on the keypad guard... you have to do it fast or the mid level guard will see you when you grab him. Right away after grabbing him, knock him out, and just leave the body there. Enter the keypad number and use your thermal vision to look down the hallway. If you did it fast enough, two soldiers will be coming down the hallway, once they stop and turn around, open the door. Pick up the body and drop him in the darkness straight ahead. Two soldiers move up and down the main hallway, and two guards move up and down separate hallways facing each other right in front of you under the lamp. Wait till the two guards have their back to the main hallway, then go down the hallway. Once you pass the two guards, start crouching at full speed down the hallway, you will see one soldier stop in front of the left hallway you need to get to, and the other on the right keeps going down the hallway. When the soldier on the left starts moving again, move into the left hallway where the armored camera is located. Stay in the shadow, the two armored cameras in the level are a joke by the way. Make sure no soldiers are looking down the hallway when you move across into the light. When the camera looks to the right or left, move down the opposite side of the hallway it's looking and to the door at the end. Lock pick the door and go inside, the camera can't see you. Go to the right and crouch under the lasers when they go out, then jump over the others when they go out. Go to the left and hide behind the bookcases opposite the computer. Let the guard turn on the light and stop in his position, once he stops, go to the right of the desk at s3 the whole way. Very closely hug the desk all the way to the computer, then use the computer. 10.2 Use Nikoladze to open the retinal safe ------------------------------------------- Turn around and hug the desk back the same way you came over to the lasers. Jump over the first set then crouch under the next when they are off. Open the door and go outside the room. Once outside the door, make sure the armored camera is looking to the right or left again and no soldiers are looking down the hallway, then pass the armored camera and wait in the dark at the end of the hallway. If the soldiers are coming from the left, wait for them to pass, otherwise just make sure they don't see you. Follow the left wall and wait for the guard to come out of the double doors. When he does, he will go down the right side of the hallway, so just go inside the double doors before they close coming from the left side. Stay to the left of this hallway passing the armored camera and into the double doors on the left. Go straight ahead and enter the keypad door, go through the door hugging the left side, move to the end of the hall, at almost max stealth. Shoot the light in front of the elevator, then go inside and go down. At the bottom of the elevator, the doors open, four soldiers will come running in after you. Facing the elevator doors, right away once they open, stand up and run at full speed the whole time. Go out the elevator, turn right to do a U-turn, and pass the bench towards the stairs, stay on the right side of the book cases, but as close as possible to them, and run all the way to the wall where the new hallway is that you need to go into on the left side of the room. Once to the wall go to the left, and right around the soldier. He will try to shoot you, but you will be gone down the hallway into the basement by then. Just keep going all the way down, then down the next ramp hallway, and all the way to Nikoladze, grab him as he's running away and take him to the retinal scanner. Once he uses it, a Cristavi's Elite Forces will come and take Nikoladze away. 10.3 Kill Kombayn Nikoladze --------------------------- Lambert will tell you the lights will go out in five seconds, when the soldier in front of you is counting down and gets to "Two". The lights will go out and you need to run straight ahead to the left of the curtain and to the left of the big crates. Do not run into anything. Right after the last set of crates where the soldier is, perfectly do a diagonal run towards the doorway hugging the doorway on the left wall with minimal turning, if you do it correctly, you won't get shot at. Now this needs to be perfect...well there is also a trick to it. When standing still, the guy in front of you tells you not to move, but actually you can move. There is a rectangular box all around you that if you pass, it triggers them to shoot you. You can only move a little forward from where you start though, but you have lots of room to the left. You always have to move to the left front corner as much as possible to get to the doorway in time. Keep running up the hallway on the right, and to the left of the bookcases, watch a cut scene, and out of the double doors on the left. Sneak over to the beginning of the water fountain and wait there until all four soldiers around you, pass by you, then crouch full speed across the water to the other end and climb up the pipe, opposite the double doors you came out of. Jump off the pipe to the left and hold up so you grab the ledge, and pull yourself up. Watch another cut scene with Nikoladze in his office, then snipe him. 10.4 Reach Extraction --------------------- Move behind the door the guard comes out of, to the right of it, hiding behind it when it swings open. Then after the guard leaves, go inside before the door closes. Go down the first part of the stairs and there will be three huge windows going into the dining room, jump up into the last one on the right side and hide against the right side crouched. The guard outside will come back in and down the stairs, two other guards will come towards you from the dining room, once those two guards pass under you, jump down silently, start slowly and then crouch full speed to the end of the dining room following along the right side, then go around the table to the left where the cabinet is. Jump up onto it and pull yourself up. Turn around, then run and jump to the balcony, and pull yourself up. Go inside the double doors on the balcony. Stay against the left wall on the mid level all the way around to the other side opposite the double doors you came out of at s3. Then jump down off the railing between the two lights, and silently drop down. Then go up to the double doors behind the four guards. ===================== Mission 11: Kola Cell ===================== 11.1 Access Masse's server -------------------------- Start running to the right and roll into the tunnel. Keep going to the end, then to the right into another tunnel, stand up as soon as it lets you, then start running down to the light at the end. Crouch down as soon as you come to the second dark brown vertical piece of wood. Now once you reach the light into the new room, go at s2 over the glass under you, straight towards the corner of the room. Once you pass over the glass, move at s4 and pickup the bottle as soon as you can. Quickly turn around and throw the bottle down the tunnel you just came out of, about a foot into the doorway. The guard will hear it and go investigate, quickly follow along the wall you are on, towards the stairs. Stop at the middle of the wooden bench, if the guard is up stairs, wait for him to come down. If he was in the middle of the room, you don't have to wait. Now jump up onto the stairs and crouch out the room. Once at the top of the stairs start running standing up at full speed, go through the hallway with the laser that's around your mid section, just jump over it while running, without stopping. Go to the left at the end of the hallway, go through the doorway leading into the laser room. Jump up onto the bridge where the computer is, use it to open the door, then crouch back down. While on the bridge, move as close to the lasers as you can, wait for the right timing, you just have to time the two bottom blinking lasers. The middle will go out, then the bottom goes out, quickly crouch at full speed passing the first set of lasers. Now drop off the bridge to the left and crouch under the second set of lasers. Then jump back onto the bridge for the third set, just run and jump over the laser. Go down the ramp and go to the left and up the stairs through another doorway. Go to the left at the top of the stairs to reach a locked door, lock pick it and move into the new hallway. Go to the right at the end of the hallway, and then to the left into a closet. Put your back up against the shelves, while staying as close as possible to the light switch. Two guards will have a conversation and start a patrol, they do three different patrols. The first guard (in the normal suit) will always go down the hallway you are in, the second guard (in the white suit) might keep going down his hallway, or down the one you are in. The first guard might enter the closet you are in, if he does, just wait till he passes by you entering the closet, you will have to get off the wall and sneak behind him outside the closet into the hallway. Otherwise the first guard will keep going down the hallway. Now if the guard in the white suit keeps going down his hallway, sneak at s3 out of the closet into the hallway once the first guard passes by the closet. Start going to the left towards the chair with the can on it. About a foot before reaching the chair, crouch at full speed into the new hallway hugging the wall to the left, and then to the stairs before the white guard turns around. Now if the white guard goes down the hallway you are in, watch the first guard, he will stop and then go in the opposite direction, right when he turns, go at s3 out of the hallway and then a foot before the chair start crouching at full speed hugging the wall to the left, all the way to the stairs. Now at the top of the stairs, slowly go down to about the middle and then go back up to trigger the guard down below to start his patrol. Now stand up and put your back up against the wall, put your right foot on the 4th step, and your left foot on the 5th step. The guard will come up the stairs and pass right by you. Now get off of the wall and slowly go down the stairs, once you reach the bottom, you can crouch at full speed jumping over the boxes towards the new door. Open the door and slowly go along the right wall towards the corner with the boxes. Jump up onto the first level of boxes, and then jump up onto the next level, on the white canine box. Then facing the next set of boxes, jump up to grab onto the ledge so you are hanging. Shimmy over to the left, keep going around the first corner and stop at the end before going around the next corner, not too far by the edge, stay in the dark. Wait for the patrolling guard under you to pass by going towards the middle of the room, when he goes, shimmy over to the left around the last corner and drop down onto the TV. Go out the door and pull your camera jammer, start using the camera jammer on and off really fast so it barely depletes. Keep doing that while moving down the hallway towards the end where the stairs start. Jump over the laser beam at the top of the stairs and go down them into the glass doorway leading into the server room. Use the server box on the back end of the room. 11.2 Use Alekseevich's retinal pattern -------------------------------------- Start off running to the right, then jump up onto the server box that leads into the opening in the ceiling. Jump up to grab onto the air duct, and pull yourself up. Quickly go full speed through the shaft to the end, and open the grating, then go back into the corner inside the air duct behind you, you should finish this before he stops speaking. Wait for the guard that goes along the left side of the glass room to cross the middle, once he does, go out of the air duct at s3, hugging the wall to the right towards the stairs. Once you reach the stairs, crouch full speed up them to the top. Use the camera jammer on the camera, stand up to move faster, and move to the end of the hallway. Go through the door at the end of the hallway and run through this room to the door on the other side. You will see a cut scene of colonel Alekseevich and a guard talking, once it's over, move over to the two sets of boxes stacked on top of each other, jump up onto the taller one and wait there. The guard will come down the stairs and then turn around at the bottom and go back up, once he passes you going back up the stairs, drop down behind him and slowly go across the room towards the grating in front of you. Open the grating and move full speedto the end, jump up to the right onto the next level, then jump up to the right onto another level, now double jump off of the wall into the ceiling above Alekseevich. By the time you do this, the stairs guard will be going down the stairs, so drop down behind Alekseevich onto the floor, and go back down the hallway where the closet is, keep going and go to the left at the end of the hallway. Look for a light switch on the left wall beside the doorway, then turn off the light. Now go back towards the chair with the soda can and stay at the corner of the wall. Watch for the stairs guard to come up the stairs again, once he turns around and starts going back, slowly sneak up behind the colonel and grab him. Quickly go as fast as you can, taking him down the hallway and towards the light switch. Go into the doorway by the light switch and then to the right down the stairs into the laser field room. Stay at the doorway leading into the room and watch the two flashlight soldiers, wait for the first one closest to you to turn around, once he does, go straight across to the other side of the room, stay at the ramp and wait for the second soldier to turn around, once he does, follow behind him and move into the opening on the left wall before the mound of dirt. Now you have to listen for the soldier to come back and pass by you to the right. Once he does, go out of the opening in the wall and start going behind him around the mound of dirt and stay against the wall. Go into the hallway and go left into another hallway where the retinal scanner is, and use him on the retinal scanner. 11.3 Force Masse to access his computer --------------------------------------- Take him back outside and move to the corner looking at the flashlight guards. Once they are both looking in the opposite direction, start moving along the right wall around the mound and into the opening in the wall. Watch for the flashlight guard close by to pass you, then move out of the opening and go up the ramp where the computer is. Stay about half way between the bottom of the ramp, and the metal grating balcony. Wait for the flashlight guard beside the mound to start coming towards you, he will use his flashlight to glance up where you are. After he does this, he will be passing the end of the metal grating. You need to start moving to the end towards the computer, making sure the other guard is turned around also. Both guards will be looking in the opposite direction of you. Now pull out your gun and start walking straight towards the retinal scanner. You will both fall off the ledge, hurry and run into the retinal door and climb the ladder. You will get shot once or twice by the retinal guard, nobody else should hit you. Go over to the double doors and open one, watch the cut scene of Masse typing, then open the other door. If you open just one, Masse will start talking to the guard and make the guard start patrolling, but using this way, we can avoid it. At s3 go along the left wall over to where the balcony opens up into a half circle, then jump up over the half circle and stay on the edge. Wait for Masse to stop at the server boxes and use the computer, then just drop down on the guy under you. Stay in that same spot until Masse stops at one of the computers, then sneak up on him and grab him, make him use the computer. 11.4 Kill Phillip Masse ----------------------- Knock Masse out as soon as you can. Now take out a smoke grenade and aim for the door. There are four horizontal beams on the ceiling, and four vertical beams while facing the doorway. Wait one or two seconds after you knocked out Masse to shoot. Shoot the smoke grenade just in front of the first horizontal beam, and hit just barely to the left of the second vertical beam from the left. Make sure not to hit the actual beam, as it will bounce back at you. Right after shooting the smoke grenade, turn to the right corner and shoot another aiming exactly in the middle of the first archway from the corner. Now this is what happens, you wait the extra second in the beginning so the guard will throw the grenade and blow Masse up. The first smoke grenade will distract the guard on the left and the one in the middle. The second will distract the guard on the right. If it was successfully done, you can run up the stairs towards the doorway passing all the guards without knocking them out. 11.5 Reach extraction --------------------- Make a run for the double doors, make sure to open the right door, the one closest to you. Move to the left and into the door the three guards came out of. Open up the grate and move forward until you are hanging down, now drop down. If you crouch full speed, sometimes you will lose health. Open the grate into the next room and turn off the light by the door. Open the door and move just barely out into the hallway, but still under the doorway. Jump up to make a noise, the guard close by will hear you and come investigating. Right after you jump, move into the right corner beside the door and put your back against the wall facing the guard. Wait for the guard to open the door, once he does, slowly start moving behind him and down the hallway, hugging the left wall when you come to the intersection. Watch the patrolling guard in front of you, wait for him to turn his back, and also the other guard at the other end of the room has his back turned, or has went into another room. When this happens, move into the room hugging the left wall and into the dark corner opposite the mound of dirt. Now wait until the guard next to you has his back turned, and the other has his back turned again. Slowly move around the mound of dirt to the left into the dark spot. Wait for the guard beside you to come out all the way, and the guard on the other side of the room has his back facing you. Slowly move behind the guard closest to you and go down the stairs and into the next room. Go to the right into the tunnel to the end and roll to the left into the next tunnel, go to the end of this tunnel into the room you started the mission in with the fence. Move around the box to the other side of the room and open the grate in the corner. =============================== Mission 12: Vselka Infiltration =============================== 12.1 Locate and talk with the captive sailor -------------------------------------------- Run full speed as soon as you can straight ahead towards the water ledge. Follow along the ledge until you get to the corner where a guard and a dog are patrolling. Drop down and hang on the ledge, now start to shimmy to the left. The dog will smell you, and the guard will follow. Once you get to the end of the huge metal box, pull yourself up. Stay close to the water ledge and face the box. Jump up to grab onto the top of the box, then pull yourself up. While crouching, slowly move forward towards the next level. Jump up to hang and pull yourself up. Look down and make sure the guard isn't below you, he should be over more by where you started. Facing the other metal box across from you, crouch full speed and jump across the pathway to it and pull yourself up. Now jump onto the zip cord on the pole and fly over the fence. Once you land, jump down off of the tank and roll onto the ground to the left keeping your speed. Move around the next tank while hugging it to the right. You must do this before the guard comes out into the window on the left. Now keep moving towards the window to the right. If you did this whole part fast enough, the guard will be moving in the opposite direction of you towards the other window. Now slowly jump through the window into the hallway, move directly towards the wall opposite the window. Now move to the corner to the right. Quickly shoot out the camera in front of you and enter the door. He will not hear the shot if he is still standing by the window. Turn on your night vision and move to the right, hide up against the pillar, do not pass the four outlets or the turret gun will hit you, which basically means don't pass the middle of the pillar. Move your camera to where you can see the turret gun, make sure it isn't looking in your direction and move full speed towards the bookshelves. Double jump off of the bookshelves and land on top of the turret gun. Drop down on the other side towards the next turret gun and disable it. Move in front of the turret gun towards the door and hide behind the pillar. Wait for the guard to come out of the door, once he is out of the way, move behind him into the door. Enter the hallway to the right moving full speed. Enter the door on the right side and hide under the stairs. Two guards will come down the stairs and go through the door you came from. Wait until the door closes to move out from under the stairs. Move up the stairs to the next level and quickly enter the door staying on the left side of the hallway facing the camera. Wait for the camera to look to the right, then move under it. Once it starts turning to the right a little bit, crouch full speed down the hallway until you come to the table and chairs. Stay against the right side of the hallway and start slowing down to about s5 until you get to the end by the doorway. Now stay against the right outside wall while moving at s1 into the doorway. Slowly move towards the doorway with the keypad, wait for the three guards to stop talking and go back on their patrol. The keypad guard will enter the door then leave. Once he leaves, move into the freezer before the door closes and he turns around. Now talk with the captive sailor. 12.2 Deactivate the compressor ------------------------------ Move up against the door in the freezer to let it open, then move into the corner of the freezer that is by the door, and opposite the sailor. The guard will hear the door open and investigate, he will come in and pass by you, once he does move out of the freezer into the room. Slowly hug the wall to the left and move to the doorway where the hallway patrolling guard by the camera is. He should be coming towards you if you did it fast enough. Just hide by the doorway and watch him stop and look at you, then he will turn around and start moving towards the camera. Once he does this, stay against the left wall and slowly trail behind him. Hide next to him on the left side in the dark spot, and watch the camera's movements. You will also have to wait a second for the guard looking down the hallway at you to turn around. Wait until the camera is looking down the hallway at the door leading to the stairs. Slowly move into the corner under the camera and wait for it to pan to the left facing the patrolling guard, once it does this, move down the hallway and into the door leading to the stairs. If your timing is correct you won't have to wait for the camera to turn at all. Hurry up to the top of the stairs and go into the keypad door. Quickly move down the hallway to the door on the right and wait behind it as it opens. A guard will be coming out, as soon as he clears a path for you, slowly move around the door and into the next room as he is entering the keypad code for the other door. Hug the wall along the left side slowly following behind the patrolling guard in the middle of the room. Once you pass around the corner, cross the room towards the three crates, slowly walk on top of them and then on to the bed to the left. Move up against the wall and wait for the guard to turn around and pass by you. Once he does, move through the grate in the wall and to the other side of the tunnel. Move along the right wall until you get into the control room, watch the camera and wait for it to pan to the left, then stay along the right wall crouching under the laser beam. Move over by the computer and shoot out the light so the camera can't see you. Use the computer to deactivate the compressor. 12.3 Locate the submarine ------------------------- Move back the same way you came, crouching under the laser beam, and watching out for the camera. Hide to the left of the doorway, make sure you aren't too close to it, stay about a body length to the left of the doorway. There is a chair directly behind you, there are cables running on the ground beside it. Make sure you are even with the line the cables make. Two guards will come in and one will move up to the doorway and back. Wait for both guards to leave the room and follow behind them going through the grate and down the tunnel to the other side. Stand up and run to the end of the room along the right wall and to the next door. Stay over by the lockers in the corner when he comes in. The patrolling guard will be coming back into the room through that door, once he enters, leave the room right behind him before the door closes. Now move left down the hallway behind the general to the end door leading to the stairs. Go inside the door and hide by the pole to the left on the top level. Two guards will be coming up the stairs, notice the break in the railing in front of you, wait for the two guards to pass under you, then hang down on the open ledge and drop down. Move down the stairs to the very bottom, quickly go inside the door and move to the right. Follow along the wall into the curtain, hide there while two guards pass by you. Once they are gone, quietly sneak down the hallway, when you get to the ramp you can stand up and run the rest of the way to locate the submarine. ============================ Mission 13: Vselka Submarine ============================ 13.1 Unlock access to the lower decks ------------------------------------- Start running full speed out of the room you start in and down the hallway to the right. Once you reach the two big pipes on the left, crouch down staying at full speed, once you enter the doorway, slow down to s4 and hug the wall to the right. Move towards the computer between the two chairs and use it to unlock access to the lower decks. 13.2 Access the Vselka's server ------------------------------- Stay at s4 and move back into the hallway, once you pass the doorway crouch at full speed all the way to the end of the hallway. Go into the medical room with the health kit and bed. As you enter the doorway, move to the left corner, which is the wall and the cabinets. Wait for the guard patrolling in the room you just opened to fully stop in the doorway. Once you don't hear anymore footsteps, jump up to create a distraction. Now crouch back down and head over to where the doorway is, stand inside the doorway making sure your stealth meter is at full darkness. The guard will stop and turn around about halfway down the railing, sometimes he will glance your way. Once he starts to turn, quickly make your way out into the room following behind him. This spot must be perfect, hide about 1/3 the way down. There are two rectangular objects on the wall, with wires connecting to each of them. Stay against the railing side, across from where the wires start at the first box. The guard will stop in the corner and look down towards you, then start moving again. Once he turns to start moving, get off of the railing and slowly move to the corner he was in, keep following behind him until you reach the doorway, stay as close as possible to him. Keep moving and don't stop, stay at full speed once you enter the doorway and start slowing down once you pass the three bunk beds and pickup a can. Slowly make your way hugging around the bunk bed into the corner. The guard will be coming back as you turn into the corner and will turn on the light. After he does this, he will turn back around and head to where he was. Then he will turn around and enter the room you are in and move all the way to the end. When he passes you, move into the doorway with the light switch, move as far towards the end of the next room as you can while still being able to use the light switch. Now watch him until he completely stops at the end of his patrol, once he does, turn off the switch and move at s3 along the wall into the doorway at the end. Make sure to stay in the complete darkness watching the guard at the bottom of the stairway. Once he turns towards the doorway, slowly make your way down stairs following right behind him. After you enter the room, start moving at about s3. Go into the corner where the flashlight is and wait for him to move out of the doorway back to the stairs. Right when he makes a big enough opening for you to move, slowly start moving into the doorway, you must get to the checkpoint as soon as possible. As you need as much time as you can get. As soon as the checkpoint starts, start moving forward at s2, move a couple of steps and then start aiming the can for the left opening in the cloth doorway. Now throw the can so that it lands in the middle of the table, to the left of it. Stay against the right wall in the corner of the kitchen, wait for the guard in the next room to move out of the way. Hug the right wall around the corner and into the next room to the right of the table. Stop where he stopped, in the middle of the table. He will then proceed into the hallway, when he does this, move into the corner by the red poster and wait beside the light switch for him to return to the room you are in. After he returns, slowly move towards the doorway into the hallway and wait in the last doorway that leads to the big room with the metal bridge you came from. Look up at the guard that you distracted earlier, he should be looking in your direction. Wait for him to start moving right, then hug the left wall and follow along the wall, once you get to the lit area, wait for the guard above you to pass by. Then continue along the wall into the doorway. Move down the hallway until you come to another doorway with a patrolling guard, wait against the right wall in front of the doorway for the guard to turn his back. Slowly follow behind him and enter into the third doorway on the left with the guy sitting down. Stay by the light switch waiting for the patrolling guard to pass by you, once he does, sneak out of the room to the left and down the stairs at the end of the hallway. Follow behind the guard until he turns left, wait for him to start moving in the opposite direction as you, then start moving out of the doorway along the right wall, stop about half way while following along side him. The guard up on the next level should have his back turned to you walking in the opposite direction if everything previously was done correctly. Get your gun out and select an airfoil, right before he stops, shoot him with an airfoil and crouch at full speed into the doorway on the right. Enter the next room listening to a conversation between two guards. Stay along the left wall and jump up onto the box, stay at s2 to the other side of the room. Now enter the hatch on the ground in front of you. Climb down the ladder and hide next to the stairs in the corner, to the right of the ladder. Wait for the guard to shine his flashlight down the stairs. Once he turns around and heads back on his patrol, follow behind him along the left wall down the stairs and into the corner passing by him as he is standing down the stairs. Wait for him to go back up the stairs, once he does, move to the right of the doorway. Watch the guard on the next level above you, the other one can't hear you unless you stand up and run. Wait for him to turn his back, then move along the right wall following under him, once he stops, move into the hallway before the torpedo room. Keep going straight once you enter the doorway and get up against the wall, jump up into the opening. Move along the top over the torpedo room and drop down in the opening. Sneak over by the next doorway and move the camera to see the patrolling guard. Once he starts turning to move in the opposite direction of you, move into the room and hide in the corner beside the bed. Once the guard stops at the end of his patrol opposite of where you are, on your way to the corner, crouch full speed to create a distraction. He will come towards you and stop, then he will go into the previous hallway. After he passes by you, sneak behind him into the control room. Go all the way to the end by the computer. Use the computer. Go back to the doorway leading into the control room. Hide to the right of the door as the two guards enter. Put your back up against the wall the door is on while crouching. 13.3 Initiate a launch sequence for a torpedo --------------------------------------------- When they enter the room, leave behind them and through the next room. Now use the computer in the torpedo room to initiate a launch sequence. 13.4 Exfiltrate the submarine through a torpedo hatch ----------------------------------------------------- Turn around and go back to where you dropped down from that passage up top, and jump back up there. Two guards will rush you shooting with a smoke grenade. Once you are up there, stay back before the smoke beside the middle light on the left wall, wait till it dies down and then move to the end. It'll die down when they yell either, "Kill him", or "Shoot him in the head". Wait for the guard to enter the torpedo room and then drop down once you reach the end and sneak by the doorway along the left wall into the next doorway. The general will call for backup, but keep moving along the right wall behind the beds. Once you get to a point you can't move anymore, put your back up against the wall while standing and keep going. Stop before the last bed with your back up against the wall waiting for the two guards to come in. They will pass right by you, and when they do, start moving towards the next doorway. Now stand up and run by it to the opening in the wall. Put your back up against the right wall and go through the opening. Once you can get off, immediately crouch down and turn down the hallway. Once you reach the end, stand up and put your back up against the left wall. Now you will be in the torpedo room, jump inside the torpedo hatch on the left and crouch full speed to the end. ############################################################################### XI. Alternative Routes ====================== 3.1 Infiltrate the East wing - Rappelling Instead of jumping onto the balcony and using the pipe, then going through the door. Another way is to rappel off of the wall into the window. Jump twice and hold the move down button, so if you do it right, you will fly through the window. Once inside, stand up and start running towards the door the guard comes out of, then when you get to the coffee, crouch down and hide to the right of the door. 5.1 Access the CIA central server - Outside Stand up and run full speed all the way to the fans. Move towards the building and then cross the middle of the street, keep going along the left side and at the end of a fence is a break in the barb wire, climb the fence to the other side between the open barb wire. Now drop down and there will be an opening in the wall of the building, with brown windows above it. Face the wall and stay against it, now double jump off of the part of the wall that sticks out, and you will be able to get onto the ledge above you. Slide the grating open and go through the fans. Quietly at s2 move towards the fence in front of the guard down below, keep going and drop down to the ground in the middle of the fence. Start climbing and silently drop down on the other side, quickly crouch at full speed following behind the guard, you should catch up when he is rounding the second corner. Now slow down and follow closely behind him, once he stops and looks to the left wall, stay in the shadow right before it gets light where the alarm is. Watch the camera in front of you, wait for it to pan to the left, then slowly sneak behind the guard on the right side before he turns around. Keep going under the stairs and get to the bottom of the steps, move your camera to watch the guard above you at the top of the stairs. Once the guard turns around, start going up the stairs and stop in the dark corner on the second level, at the bottom of the next set of stairs. The guard will stop in the middle, then go towards the other staircase, and he then stops and turns around again moving to the middle. After he stops in the middle for the second time, start moving at s4 behind him against the right wall, once you are almost up to him, slow down to s3. By the time you reach him, he should be turning and going behind you. Once you get to the stairs, start crouching at full speed to the bottom. Now slow down and you will see a worker coming down the hallway, follow behind him through the next room and out into the main hallway. Watch for the guard in the window to go to the right, or just not be there. Go to the right, opposite the direction as the worker is going, then go through the metal detector. 6.1 Infiltrate Kalinatek - Not using the zip cord Once out the window, pull yourself up onto the hanging box. You can jump down onto the glass from here, but you do lose some health. Instead of going along the zip cord and rappelling down. 6.2 Disarm the bomb planted in the Archives Room - Climb the pipe When you have to defuse the bomb, after going through the keypad door, go left down the hallway, and the first big fire you see, there is a pipe above it. You can double jump up to the pipe and pull your legs up, then go across the fire. 7.2 Collect intelligence with the laser mic - Right after talking to contact It's kind of backwards, since the way I use is the alternative way, but I wanted to include this too. Quickly go straight to the second alley, passing the doorway on the right, and turn to the right, then go to the left and watch for a guard. He will be patrolling in front of you, wait for the guard in front of you to turn around and pass you. Once he does, and the other guard down the alley turns his back, move across the alley to the ladder. Climb up the ladder, at the top, go straight ahead and double jump off of the wall to the left up to the next level. Crouch into the window and go down the hallway to the right, sneak over to the patrolling guard underneath the zip line you need to get on. There are two door openings, go into the second one. Hide behind the crates, and once the guard passes you, and moves towards the first door opening you didn't go through. Jump up on the crates and onto the zip line. 8.1 Destroy the antenna broadcast ability - Double jump across the roof After double jumping up from the dumpster room onto the roof where the antenna is. Instead of shimmying across the pipe, going across the wooden boards, and using the rope. You can just double jump each open section, starting from the pipe. Do a crouch running jump diagonally towards the fence, and do a wall jump in the middle of it, then do a silent landing. 8.1 Destroy the antenna broadcast ability - Minefield guard house At the end of the minefield before the two dumpsters. There is a thin wall pointing out from the dumpsters towards the fence that looks like huge stairs. Jump onto the debris from the dumpster side and get up onto the wooden boards laying up against the wall. Now just jump up and pull yourself up on top of the wall, then climb the next step up the wall. Do a running jump towards the guard house from the wall to the thin metal roof against the building. Go to the end where the guard house is, then do another running jump towards the wooden balcony edge on the guard house. You will end up hanging and just pull yourself up. 9.1 Infiltrate the Embassy via the upper floor - Skipping the restaurant Go in the front door of the restaurant, crouch full speed along the right wall and keep going down that pathway between the tables. Stop at the automatic door into the kitchen and wait until the cook stops messing with the vegetables and turns his back, then sneak at s3 inside the kitchen along the left wall and climb up the ladder, then climb up the next ladder to the roof. 9.3 Destroy the trucks carrying nuclear weapons - To the metal bridge Go outside the room and stay under the camera, wait for the camera to look the opposite way and then sneak in front of the boxes that are in front of the camera. Keep going along them and then when you get to the wall take a left, go under a shelf and then stop at the second shelf, before the lighted part where the next camera is. Wait for the middle guard to pass you while moving opposite the door you came out of, when he's gone, move across the light to the crates on the left, and hide in the shadow against the crates, but still on the corner where you can see the new camera. Wait till the camera is turned all the way to the right, and then jump onto the crate in front of you and do a crouch full speed jump over to the farthest box from you, closest to the camera, on the same wall, so you hang. Move over to the left enough to where you can pull yourself up, and to the beginning of the bridge. 9.5 Chinese Embassy: Meet Coen for Osprey extraction - Down the burning stairs After running through the burning building, when you get to the stairs, you're suppose to crouch and go out the window. But another way is to run through the flames down the stairs, stop and take three med kits, then open the door and go outside to the helicopter. 11.1 Kola Cell: Access Masse's server - Skip the laser field This might be easier than going through the laser field, but it isn't as fast. After jumping over the very first laser and going down the hallway, jump up onto the ramp and use the computer to open the door. Now jump back down and go back down the hallway by the retinal scanner On the wall beside the retinal scanner is an air duct you can slide open and go inside. Go to the end of the air duct and open up the grating, you are now on the other side of the laser field. 12.1 Vselka Infiltration: Locate and talk with the captive sailor - Around Run full speed as soon as you can straight ahead towards the water ledge. Follow along the ledge until you get to the corner where a guard and a dog are patrolling. Drop down and hang on the ledge, now start shimmying to the left. The dog will smell you, and the guard will follow. Once you get to the end of the huge metal box, pull yourself up. Move along the water ledge to the end waiting for the guard and his dog to come down where you are. Wait for both of them to reach the middle of their patrol moving in the opposite direction. Now staying along the wall, move towards the fence passing the first cargo box. Once you reach the fence, jump up onto the little ledge of the cart. Then jump up and pull yourself up on top of it. Run and jump over the gap to the wall. Once there you can drop down and get to the window. 12.2 Vselka Infiltration: Deactivate the compressor - Retinal scanner After entering the very top keypad door of the stairs, follow behind the guard that comes out the door from the right. Stay behind him into the next room through the curtain, then hide in the dark spot on the left wall as he enters the next door. Keep following behind him as he enters the last doorway to the left where there is a general in the room sitting at the computer. Stay in the darkness until he sits down, now sneak over and grab the general and bring him over to the retinal scanner. Use it and knock him out. Now just go to the control room to deactivate the compressor. ############################################################################### XII. Secrets/Bugs/Fun ===================== 0.0 All level cheat Type !lamaudite! for your name when creating a game, it will give you access to every mission. The only reason I have this is because not many people know about it, and it gives you access to at least two checkpoints in most missions. So you don't have to go through the whole mission to get to the last part, which saves lots of time. Maudite is french, and means "the damned one", which comes from the legend of the flying canoe. A legend from Quebec, Canada about a group of lumberjacks who made a deal with the devil to fly home for Christmas in a canoe, guided by Satan himself. It's also a beer in Quebec, where Splinter Cell was made. 0.0 Releasing a grabbed guard Grab a guard and drop off of a ledge while backing off of it. The ledge should be about the height of your waist. This will release the guard, leaving him on the ledge. 0.0 Running in circles around a guard If you are spotted, a guard will always keep turning towards you trying to shoot you no matter which way you run. If you stop to hit them twice in the head, you will probably die. A better way is to run around the guard in a very tight circle, as close to him as you can, he will try to keep up with you by facing you the whole time, also turning in a circle. He can't shoot, because he has to be stopped to shoot. Eventually, if you are fast enough, you can get a "Grab Character" selection, and then you can grab him. This doesn't work on all guards though. 0.0 Freestyle Somersault Find something as high as your waist or knees that you can climb on. A good example are the benches in the lobby of CIA HQ. Get on top of one, crouch down, then move full speed forward and jump off. Keep moving forward in the air and crouch back down while in the air to roll forward. You will then roll, except you won't be moving. 1.1 Training: Obstacle course - Talk to Grimsdottir Right at the start after looking at the red lights, go over to the right and double jump up onto the ledge, then go inside the room to your right and take the lock pick. Go through training until you come to the fence you have to double jump over, on the other side is a door you can lock pick for a keypad code that you use at the beginning. Turn around and go back through the level to the beginning where the red lights you had to look at are. Now once you're there, double jump up the opposite side you jumped up before to get the lock pick. Go inside the keypad door and talk to Anna Grimsdottir, if you decide to knock her out, Lambert will kick you out of the agency. 2.4 Police Station: Get into the police precinct - On the street Right after you come out of the bushes and into the gate. Cross the lighted window blinds and to your right if you double jump off the dumpster you can climb up onto the railing. This is the same spot you jumped across the street to the other balcony to Blaustein's apartment. Well now you're allowed on the streets :D. 2.4 Police Station: Get into the police precinct - Blaustein's apartment After you come out of the bushes and into the gate. To the right is a dumpster and up to the left is Blaustein's apartment. To get up, go over by the alarm and double jump off of the same wall up onto the brown awning. Go over to the black railing and jump up to hang, then pull yourself up so you are now outside of his apartment. 3.2 Defense Ministry: Find and interrogate Grinko's driver - Useless goodies Secret area with a med kit and a disposable pick above the first elevator, the one with wood laying down at the top, double jump up on the ledge. 3.5 Defense Ministry: Laser-mic the glass elevator - Sprinklers If you shoot the sprinklers and destroy them, they will keep spraying as if nothing happened. 3.5 Defense Ministry: Laser-mic the glass elevator - Three guard zombies Right before laser micing the elevator, go straight forward, unlock the double doors and go inside. The three guards that are supposed to come out will be staring at the wall. 3.7 Defense Ministry: Find and access Nikoladze's computer - Human cushion After shooting out the glass with the guard by Nikoladze's computer, grab him from the back. Now pull him outside, you must be perfectly straight with the ledge while moving back outside. He will fall down to the ground to the right of you, and you will hang. Now move over to the right a little bit, so you are above him, then just drop down on top of him to knock him out. 4.1 Oil Refinery: Infiltrate the refinery by the main pipeline - Blow up Once inside the pipeline, if you shoot the liquid inside, the whole pipe will blow up. 4.3 Oil Refinery: Get the technician's briefcase by any means - Invisible After grabbing the technician, bring him back up the stairs to where you came from. Once you go down the hallway and around the first corner, he will disappear in your arms. It will still show Sam's animation of holding the technician, but he won't be there. Now go back to the hallway, you will see the technician standing there as if you were holding him. Whenever you walk, he walks, you can interrogate him too if you walk close to the ghost. Now you can either knock him out or shoot him by using the human shield. Funny how you can hit him with bullets, but you can also walk through him. A fun thing to do is move the camera so you can see the front of Sam, and also see the technician in the background behind you, then knock him out. It looks like Sam has some magical power. Another trick is to make him a ghost, then go down by the boat dock. Take him over by the second set of stairs from the boat dock, where there is room to move behind the stairs. Now don't go up the stairs, stay to the right of them, but climb up the stairs on the outside of the railing while holding him. He will just disappear and reappear back where his ghost was, standing still. If you did this while he wasn't invisible, he would just fall down standing still at the bottom of the stairs. 5.1 CIA HQ: Access the CIA central server - Bench hopping After you make it inside the building, ko the guard patrolling the middle and ko the guard behind the desk. Now there are two sides, one has four benches, and the other has 5 in a row, then a 6th to the left. Start from where you enter the building, and jump from one bench to the other, making it all the way to the 6th one at the end. 5.2 CIA HQ: Retrieve the SC-20K - 867-5309 Jenny In the battery room with the two workers, there is one reading out numbers. Here's what he says, "0J-8675307, 0J-8675308, 0J-86763...what the". In sequence, the next number will be 0J-8675309, which messed him up. If you remember a song called "8675309 Jenny", by Tommy Tutone in the 80s, you'll understand. 5.3|5.4 CIA HQ: Kidnap Mitchell Dougherty - Rayman In the room with the guy on the cell phone, there are two vending machines. In the break room with the two guards sitting down listening to the radio, there are two vending machines. Each vending machine has a bag of chips called RAY-MAN, with his face on it. 5.4 CIA HQ: Kidnap Mitchell Dougherty - Dougherty talks to himself Before tapping into Dougherty's computer, follow behind him down the hallway and through the projector room. Make it to the break room and grab the guy Dougherty is supposed to have a conversation with. Now bring him outside into the hallway and knock him out in the dark opening in the wall across from the bathrooms. Go back through the projector room and tap into Dougherty's computer. Now go back through the projector room into the hallway and listen to Dougherty have a conversation with himself in the break room. He doesn't pause, just says all his lines, one after the other. 5.4 CIA HQ: Kidnap Mitchell Dougherty - UFO room Right after the projector room, at the end of the hallway, opposite where Dougherty takes a smoke. There is a door to The UFO Sightings room, lock pick the door and use the computer inside, get the keypad number off the data disk, it's the only numbers, go inside the keypad door. 5.7 CIA HQ: Incapacitate the CIA Security - Big fall Once you reach the last checkpoint at the door that leads down stairs inside the building. Drop Dougherty down and turn around, follow between the metal railing and fence opposite the huge fans, don't go up the stairs. About halfway turn on your night vision and look down over the metal railing, you will see four square air vents. There is one that is lit up because of a light next to it. Jump up onto the metal railing and drop down onto the lit square air vent. You will lose about 75% of your health, but still be alive. 6.2 Kalinatek: Open the fire doors surrounding Ivan - Secret book Right before you move into the room the two hostages are located, go to the right down the hallway, roll through the fire. Now hurry and open the door, you need lots of health for this. Keep moving forward so once it opens you go in. There is a book you can pickup under the desk right in front of you, it's under some newspapers at the end of the desk. The significance, I don't know. To drop it, you have to pull out your gun. You can take it throughout the rest of the level, right after talking to Ivan, when you go up the elevator...it disappears. 6.2 Kalinatek: Open the fire doors surrounding Ivan - Secret book 2 At the end of the hallway after the hostages, before you enter the keypad door. Go into the door to the right of the keypad door. Once inside, roll through the fire to the right, or double jump off of the wall over the desk. There are two cans on top of the desk, and a book on the ground. If you shoot it, it disappears. It's the same as the other book. 6.2 Kalinatek: - Basketball net " There a basketball net in an office in Kalinatek. You can actully shoot a few balls to sharpen your reflexes :)" It's exclusive to the PC version, there are three balls and a basketball hoop, right after you enter Kalinatek, go into the keypad room to the right of the metal detectors. 7.1 Chinese Embassy: Rendezvous with the agency contact - On the roof In front of the van are three dumpsters, jump over the middle one towards the wall with the fenced balcony and land on the ground. Now move up against the left corner behind the dumpster facing the wall. Double jump up while holding forward so you fly right and land on top of the metal garage door. Now go back to the left while standing on the metal garage door, and do the same thing, except fly on top of the fence balcony in front of you. Move down the balcony to where the crooked telephone is, now while standing on the balcony, move a little to the left of the pole, so if you were to double jump you will land on the roof beside you. Hold forward while you double jump off of the pole onto the roof. Now there are two places you can go on the roof. One is dropping down over by the fenced balcony, where the van is facing, and dropping down again to the lowest level. The other is following along the roof towards the guard. To get up to the next level roof, walk along the top of the other fenced balcony passing the corner of the fence to the end. Now you are facing the next level roof, on top of the fence. In the corner of the fence you will be able to jump up to the next level. From here you can jump down onto the guard. 7.1 Chinese Embassy: Rendezvous with the agency contact - Invisible wall After coming out of the alley, go to the right towards the jeep in the far corner. Move behind it and double jump off of the barb wire onto the jeep's roof. Run and jump off of the jeep's roof towards the barb wire and do a double jump off of the invisible wall. You can also double jump off of the wall from the roof above the jeep. 7.1 Chinese Embassy: Rendezvous with the agency contact - Flying In the second area before the sewer, after the checkpoint, climb up the second ladder and move across the street by using the rope. Now on the same ledge, move over into the corner of the crooked fence. Double jump and you will jump off of the fence into the opposite corner. It will seem as though you are floating, keep moving towards the new corner and you can stay there forever. You can even press crouch to have his arms float up and down. 8.1 Abattoir: Destroy the antenna broadcast ability - Minefield guard house In the middle of the minefield are four barrels stacked up on top of each other right in front of the guard house. Jump up on the barrels and then run and jump onto the railing where the guard house is. Shimmy over to the left until you get to the opening in the balcony, then pull yourself up. Go inside the guard house and you'll find ammunition, 1 medical kit, 3 flares, 1 sticky shocker, and a frag grenade. 8.6 Abattoir: Kill Grinko - Mission over, but not If you don't knock out the two guards in the hallway right before saving the hostages, and they are perfectly timed to be down the hallway. Then you knock out Grinko at the end of the level on left side opening, the two guards will wake him up and it says the mission was completed, but then it says mission over. Although it says mission over, you can still load the level in your select levels list. 9.1 Chinese Embassy: Infiltrate the Embassy via the upper floor - Skip ladder Go over to the back door to the restaurant, stand at the top of the steps. Jump up onto the dumpster, staying against the wall the door is on. Now you have to do a running double jump off of the wall the door is on, towards the van. Where you need to land is on the edge of the green and white striped awning, at the very end closest to you. Now that you are on the awning, get as close to the brick wall as possible, and do a standing double jump and you will land on the fan, which is on the wall the door is on where you previously jumped. From this fan box you need to get to the very edge of it, closest to the wooden planks above you, now double jump off the wall while holding move forward in mid air, so you pull your body up onto the wooden plank. 9.3 Chinese Embassy: Destroy the trucks carrying nuclear weapons - Sliding There is a bigger dog statue that you can slide on, by the stream before the toy factory. The best way to slide is to get in between the railing and the lamp behind the statue, and double jump off of the lamp so you land on the statue's head, and then you can slide down its back. 9.4 Chinese Embassy: Use Feirong to unlock his computer - Crosshair cut scene Right before you enter Feirong's office, pick up and equip a can or bottle, then walk into the cut scene. You will see the crosshair coming out of Sam. Also, you can press L trigger and it will move the crosshair as if you were going to throw it far. 9.5 Chinese Embassy: Meet Coen for Osprey extraction - Sliding At the very end after making Feirong use his computer, go through extraction and jump out the window outside the building. Right outside the window is a dog statue, jump on top of the dog statue's head, then drop down behind it towards the wall, you will start sliding. 10.1 Presidential Palace: Recover the Ark Interrogation File - Invisible wall Right after using the keypad for the gate in the garden, go to the right following along the fence, once you get to the wall at the end, go to the left a little bit, look down you will see a little concrete part that's higher than the one your standing. You can walk through the wall right by the higher concrete part. 10.1 Presidential Palace: Recover the Ark Interrogation File - Head Cam Shoot a sticky cam or distraction cam at one of the guards that has a helmet. Make sure to be far away, because they will come towards you. If you use a distraction cam, you can use the whistle and have him wonder around forever. Or if you have a nearby guard, and the one with the cam stuck to their head faces him, use the gas on him. 10.3 Presidential Palace: Kill Kombayn Nikoladze - Can move before blackout During the blackout part where you have your hands up in the air after the checkpoint and you're not allowed to move. You actually can move, there is a rectangle around you that if you cross over the edge of it, the guards will be triggered to attack you. As long as you don't go over the invisible lines, you can run around as much as you want. Moving to the edge of the rectangle will help you reach the exit faster. 10.3 Presidential Palace: Kill Kombayn Nikoladze - Kill Nikoladze twice You have to either knock out or kill every soldier during the blackout in the basement. Then after you do that, use the computer in the basement, then go up the ramps to the elevator you previously came down. Go up the elevator and you will see two guard zombies. Now keep back tracking and go through the keypad door, you will now see Nikoladze and you can kill or knock him out, whatever you do now won't change the fact that you still have to snipe him later on. 10.4 Presidential Palace: Reach Extraction - Paralyzed guards Right after the last checkpoint, stand at the top of the stairs and shoot the window out of the door the two guards come out of at the other end of the dining room. Run down the stairs and through the door to see the two guards are paralyzed and won't notice you. 11.1 Kola Cell: Access Masse's server - Shovel In the first room you come to out of the tunnel with a guard, there is a shovel on the left wall right when you enter out the tunnel. You can pick it up and throw it. 11.2 Kola Cell: Use Alekseevich's retinal pattern - No guards When the checkpoint loads while you are in the server room that is being flooded. Wait for Alekseevich to start talking, now hold down the black button until he is done. The three guards will not come in, and you can just leave when the door opens. 11.3 Kola Cell: Force Masse to access his computer - Stuck under ladder Climb up onto the ladder leading to the Masse part. Now go down to the bottom of the ladder where you just get off and are standing in front of the ladder. Try to climb back up, you won't be able to until you move in a direction not facing the ladder. If you move straight at the ladder, his body shakes a little, and his head bobs up and down. If you try to move more towards the right or left side of the ladder, his whole body will shake and his legs will start moving up and down one after the other. 11.3 Kola Cell: Force Masse to access his computer - Flashlights through walls After using the retinal, go back outside into the room with the flashlight guards. Sometimes you can see the shadows they cast, such as curtain shadows are showing up on the wall in front of you. 11.4 Kola Cell: Kill Phillip Masse - Still typing After forcing Masse to use the computer, don't knock him out, just hold him. Even if you move away from the computer, you will still hear the typing sound until he's knocked out. 11.5 Kola Cell: Reach extraction - Basketball net In the room after you go down the air duct, right after knocking out Masse. You can shoot orange balls into a basketball hoop on the wall just like throwing a can. ############################################################################### XIII. Locations =============== These locations include where you can split jump, what missions and where alarms are set off if bodies aren't hidden well, where/who you can interrogate, and what you can laser mic. On hard, enemies have more health, and you now have less. Which is why diversion cams and smoke grenades don't completely ko a guard. I've done really complex strategies for some parts, testing both hard and normal. For reference, most guards don't move random, only a handful. A guard will move in the exact same spot at the exact same time, every time. I will get noticed at the exact same spot, at the exact same time. I've yet to figure out how they react quicker, or are harder to get rid of, I think he is just making up stuff. There is truthfully no difference if you play with stealth. Besides the health difference, everything else is exactly the same. So, is he lying, or is he telling the truth? How was Tom Clancy involved? He helped in the beginning with the concept, the story, and the core of the game. He actually tried to argue the fact that Night Vision Goggles can't be put into one device along with Thermal Vision Goggles. You can basically split it into two categories, the Xbox/PC version, and the PS2/GameCube version. Xbox: 11 missions, including the Kola Cell and Vselka missions downloadable level via Xbox Live. PC: Only 10 missions, includes a basketball net in Kalinatek, everything else is exactly the same as the Xbox version. PS2: Graphics are dumbed down a little bit, due to the older hardware. Includes 11 missions, including the Power Plant mission, binoculars, an alarm meter on the left side of the screen(which I feel gets in the way and is useless to an experienced player). Easier game play, meaning some guards aren't there anymore, it's easier to find things, the level is much more linear, everything that is changed is to suit easier game play. GameCube: Includes all the features and easier game play of the PS2 version, except the Power Plant mission. It includes a 'sticky bomb', and the graphics are better than the PS2 version. The GameBoy Advance can hook up to the GameCube and you can use it as your OPSAT. The GBA can also show a top view of the current play area. If you beat the GameCube version, you get 5 new levels on the GameBoy Advance Splinter Cell game. ############################################################################### XV. Video Walkthrough ===================== Download: www.fileshack.com This will be an almost exact copy of my walkthrough on video. It is a perfect game of Splinter Cell, playing as stealthy as possible, while remaining as fast as possible. Every turn, every move, is at it's fastest, finest peak, well there are a couple of parts that could be recorded a tiny bit better :). It will be released as a downloadable file compressed with divx. I was going to make a DVD of it, using menus to select different sections, except I don't have enough time. Maybe when I get back. It will be of the Xbox version, and it will contain all 9 missions, plus the three new missions. Mission 1: Training will not be included. I would love to include extras, such as the alternative routes/secrets/bugs/fun stuff/split jump locations...but I do not have enough time. A few months after basic training, I'll re-edit it in a higher quality with all my extras, calling it version 2. The Setup: I have the Xbox Monster S-video cable hooked up to a TV Tuner on my computer. The two audio jacks are plugged into a Y cable to combine the audio into one cord. While I am playing Splinter Cell through the Xbox on my computer, I am recording a straight MPEG-2 DVD quality file through my TV Tuner software. Then I am editing it in Virtual Dub removing the checkpoint signs, exporting the video and audio as uncompressed. Divx 5.11 is used for video compression, currently set at 1000kbps, then audio is compressed with LAME mp3 48000kHz/128kbps. It is 1.1GB big, 2 hours and 20 minutes long, 720 x 480 resolution. I wanted to take out every 'save checkpoint' sign that came up. I would remove a few frames, render it, and it would still be there. Remove those frames again, render, and it decides to skips 10 frames for fun. I'm guessing premiere sucks with frame by frame editing? So I gave up and spent 4 hours in Virtual Dub editing it to receive the same result. Created a cheap intro showing off my ascii art :), and ending listing my totals(ko's, distractions, etc). 12/30 Update: I know I'm cutting it close, but the family took up all my time, and the last missions are so much harder. Finished all missions including the three downloadable missions. Let's see, I only have a week and a half to edit and distribute the movie, plus rewrite the entire walkthrough. 12/09 Update: Finished up to mission 7, starting 8. 11/24 Update: Okay, now I'm recording :). Working on mission 2, Police Station. 11/19 Update: Everything is setup and ready to go for recording, except my only problem now is the audio. There is only one audio in jack on my TV Tuner, so I can only hear the left or right speaker, depending on which RCA plug I put in. I ordered a Y adapter from Ebay to combine them into one. 11/14 Update: New motherboard did the trick, I guess the old one is dead. Oh well, new computer working 100%!! I'll get started as soon as I play a few games of Quake 3, mostly because I've never played over 35fps... 11/10 Update: Of course, the new cpu didn't help. Problem being, I already have everything, but either my mobo doesn't work, my ram doesn't work, or my cpu doesn't work. My first power supply didn't work, I ordered another one.
