With each Big Daddy you defeat, the game lets you know how close you are to attracting the attention of Big Sister. These are vital pieces of information because, according to the developers, the encounters with Big Sister will almost always be a narrow survival, if you survive at all - there's no place to hide, nowhere to run, and she will always find you. However, you will usually have the ability to at least choose the spot you face her. More often than not this will be a welcomed option.

Amongst the other new things being brought to this title are a couple more definitely worth mentioning. First up is the ability to walk outside of Rapture. Walking along the sea floor and exploring Rapture from a different vantage point should bring a new level of appreciation of your surroundings. It is also said being out in the water is probably the only place where you are actually safe, more like your downtime for the game. The other new thing sort of piggybacks on the hacking ability of the first; now instead of letting your hack bots just to be destroyed, you will now have the option to heal them. This potential will create an additional gameplay dynamic where you can just have your hacked minions do the work for you.
With more details being closely kept under wraps, including the information about the multiplayer options in the game, BioShock 2 is shaping up to be just as mysterious as the first. Part of the magic of the original was the story in the game, so as long as they are able to deliver on the quality of story and add all of these new, exciting elements, BioShock 2 may secure a repeat of the predecessor's success. We won't have to wait long for the release either. Currently slated for a Fall 2009 release, I know there's nowhere I'd rather be than a twisted underwater world built by a madman with delusions of grandeur come this Halloween.
