The Unwreck feature is back and I sure put it to good use. It allows you the ability to turn back time so that you can start over from a point prior to taking on significant damage such as from the side of a building during a bad turn or from a direct hit from an opponent’s rocket. It gives you a second chance without having to start the race all over again.

Racing is put on hold in the arena combat modes which including split screen and online multi-player modes. There are six different combat arenas such an industrial park and a lot on the outskirts of town. This mode is like a smashup derby with heavy weapons. Being in such close quarters ensures that there’s going to be a lot of death and destruction. Power-ups are made available that will give you all kinds of unrealistic advantages such as unlimited firepower and instant repairs. There is still some slowdown when the big explosions occur but nothing that adversely affected the actual gameplay. The online modes worked flawlessly. They are smooth and responsive. Base Assault is one of the online modes in which both teams attempt to locate a bomb on the map and detonate it in the other team’s camp. The other mode is called Cat and Mouse in which one player tries to hunt down the other who is evading him. Offline modes include Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch which are performed on a split screen.
The cars look great and the environments are greatly improved since the first game. Some scenes are virtually photo-realistic. And when you consider that these structures and obstacles are destructible, it’s even more impressive. There isn’t much of a story but the game doesn’t suffer from the lack of it. The tunes are rocking and the sound effects make up for the lack of any plot twists or character development.

In all, Full Auto 2: Battlelines a good solid offering with lots of action and attitude and thanks to the multi-player modes, there’s a great deal of replay value to look forward to.
