The terminology used in the Japanese version may be different than the official English localizations'. In the walkthrough, both the official English names and their original Japanese equivalents will be used. As you proceed through the walkthrough, beware that this guide may not be entirely spoiler-free, although I try to keep out the vital points. Some details may still be written into the guide. There are multiple endings in Ar tonelico Qoga/III. The endings will be listed in the last section of this walkthrough, or AT3End, for the short code. The guide will detail how to obtain different endings. The guide will also cover most, if not all, events in the game. If you are still reading this section, thank you. You must be an extremely patient person. Get yourself a cookie. =============================================================================== 3.1) Phase 1 - Gamma Sublimed AT3Ph1 =============================================================================== The game opens with a cutscene, before switching to a text event. After you take control of Aoto, our protagonist, you can stroll around your fasinating 2D-illustrated room, or you can head out and begin yet another cutscene. As soon as you head out of the room, you will immediately find a blonde-haired girl and a muscular man in an argument. It turns out that this muscular man is in fact, a woman. She immediately becomes enraged by the fact that Aoto mistook her as a man. A boss fight starts soon afterwards with a short tutorial that comes before it. ******************************************************************************* Boss Fight: Mute (????) x 1 (HP: 190) ******************************************************************************* If you selected "Hard" as your difficulty, this first boss battle is going to be really hard, if not impossible. Otherwise, there is not much to explain in this boss battle here. Just keep hitting square to hit her, while dodging her attacks by running away from her. She will be defeated within a couple successful hits. After you finish the fight, we continue into the event cutscene. I should also note that the woman you just beat is in fact voiced by the same seiyuu (voice actor) of Pikachu. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location: Blue Canyon Hamlet (????) Objective: Head to the Bus Terminal (???????) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As you leave the cutscene, you arrive in the village. If you prefer, you can walk into the house to the left, and talk to the front desk to either rest, view your current objective, save, or load. This inn serves as a save point. After you save here, head back outside and go to the right to the bus terminal. We will get into yet another conversational scene (this isn't exactly a VN part if you are an enthusiast like me). Here, we meet Tatsumi, a V-Boarder that started living in town a month earlier. Aoto introduces the two, before a few Clustanian soldiers shows up. Tatsumi offers to help Aoto, and we head into a battle. Here, Tatsumi is controlled by an AI. You can switch to him easily by pressing triangle to bring up the menu, and switch to him as your party's leader. Like the last battle, you can simply win this fight by smashing your square button. If you want to save yourself some HP, though, be sure to dodge the soldiers' attacks, which comes usually after two or three hits you give them. Immediately after this, the soldiers summon a robot into the scene. It turns out that Saki is a Reyvateil, and offers to help with the fight. You will notice in battle that there is a "heroine field" around Saki. In this field, you can heal your characters, which comes as an advantage. Be sure to avoid any enemies heading into this field, however, as it damages Saki's health. If this happens, an alarm sound will ring. When you hear this, you can press O to give the enemies a blowback, knocking them out of the field. This battle isn't much different than the ones we had before. Concentrate on the two soldiers first before focusing on the robot. A slightly NSFW cutscene will occur immediately after the battle. After the cutscenes, Aoto and Tatsumi escape to a tent. Here, Tatsumi suggests the party should first get some rest. Head into the "save circle", and pick the first option. The party decides to head to the Eternus Shaft the next day in order to learn more about Saki. After this, we head into another text scene. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location: Blue Heaven Trail (????) Objective: Head to the Eternus Shaft (??????) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After you regain control, if you rest in the tent you can initiate your first late night rendevous with Saki. This is known as the "Talk Topics" System, which allows you to talk to heroines during breaks or sometimes in dungeons. It's not neccessary a requirement for you to read through all of them, but they add interesting stories and jokes to your playing experience. You can tell whether a heroine wants to talk to you by bringing up the main menu. A "talk" status will show up next to her icon if a heroine does wish to talk with you. Talk matters will be listed in the Charts/Lists section, specifically . Going back to the game, head left as soon as you are done with your business at the tent, and climb the ladder as you reach the end. You will see a treasure crate on a cliff. As you won't be able to reach it, climb down, and head to the ladder that reaches down, where you will be able to find another crate, a Rescue Injection (???????). Climb back up afterwards, and head to the other ladder that reaches above. This will initiate another cutscene. After this, climb to the top. You will see a buddha-style sculpture. First, walk across the bridge, you will be able to find a crate that contains a Crab Claw Sword (?????????) Equip this as Aoto's weapon. Now head back to your right, and jump down to reach the crate we saw earlier, which contains a Kiai Belt (????). Equip this accessory to Saki. Reaching back to where we were when we first see the sculpture, climb up the ladder and cross the bridge. This leads us to yet another ladder, which in turn leads to a treasure chest containing a Bronze Material (?????????). Now, to get back to the story, turn back and head up the stairs. Save at the save circle, and read the talk matters if you want to. Afterwards, climb up the stairs and an event will be initiated. Inside the house, we meet a monk, who Tatsumi has known since before, and the party stays overnight to catch some sleep. However, at night, an assassin called Soma, who Tatsumi refers as Clustania's best, comes to attack the party, before he or she escapes upon seeing Saki starting to pray. Heading off, we reach a boss fight with an Assassin left behind by Soma. Physical attacks won't harm the assassin in away, leaving us no choice but to use Saki's stri- err... attacks. Remember, He who controls stripping controls the battle. After we finish the boss fight, we are free to roam around the dungeon before we reach yet another event of a girl hanging onto a cliff. Continue down the path towards a save point and head up the ladder, you will then see another cutscene where Aoto and the gang quickly help the girl get off. It turns out that this girl, Finnel, lives in the same shaft that the party is heading to. Immediately after you regain control, head back down the ladder and continue downstairs and turn to your right. You will find another crate containing a Bronze Material (?????????). Right below it will be two other crates, containing a Weakness Detector (??????????) and a Tsurugi 07 (TSURUGI07). Equip the first one to whoever you wish to, but the latter to Tatsumi. Now, continue going down again, and you will find a ladder that leads to a chest containing a Big Ribbon (??????). After that, run to your left and head downstairs. There are two staircases here, but take the one to the right first to get yourself to two treasure chests containing another Bronze Material and Bitter Capsule (???????). Afterwards, head back to the staircases, take the one to the left, and walk downstairs and then left to the world map. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location: Eternus Shaft (??????) Objective: Head to Dr. Gojo's Clinic (??????) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As soon as we enter the map, Finell will leave the party. There's nothing we can do about it. First, go to Waterforest Square (??????), and head to the store in the middle of the town. You will get a talk matter from the glow on the ground. Next, go to Puca Puca Inn (?????????) to save or view your Talk Matters. When you are done with that, head outside and turn right and walk through the MGS1-esque tunnel. When you head outside, an event will start automatically. It turns out that the doctor is not there. As such, the party decides to wander around town. Before we do that, return to the clinic via the town map. This nets us another Talk Matter. After that, go to Waterforest Square again. Another short event will start. After that, head into the restaurant downstairs. Here, we will find Finnel talking to our doctor, Dr. Gojo, before she quickly runs off. Dr. Gojo suggests Saki to stay overnight in the clinic, but the party doesn't have the cash to pay up. As such, he offers to let her stay for free in exchange for Aoto and Tatsumi's help. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location: Eternus Shaft (??????) - Puca Puca Inn Objective: Synthesize a Spunky V (??????v), and bring it to Dr. Gojo ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You are given three of each item you need to create the Spunky V drink (??????v), but you are really only required to make one. Save yourself the extras, as they will become useful later in battle. Now, pick Image Synthesis at the front desk, and start to synthesize what Saki decides to name Chintzy Powerfill (?????????). These names are interchangable, and you are free to call them one way or the other by pressing square to switch between them. When you leave the Inn's menu, and we will immediately be teleported back to Dr. Gojo's clinic. There, the doctor allows Saki to stay overnight, and gives Aoto a Yokkora Meal Ticket (???????) as thanks. Before he can go out for some bite to eat, though, a guy called Luphan walks in to tell Gojo about the Clustanian army's search for Saki, and prompts Tatsumi to help his master, Rev. Gengai. Both Saki and Tatsumi will then leave your party. Go to Yokkora Bistro (????????), and an event will initiate. After talking to the store's owner, Finnel comes out and attempts to get Aoto and Tatsumi to hire her as a Reyvateil bodyguard, which the two do not show any interest in. As soon as you take control, buy a couple of each of the food items. You may need some of them later in the game. Next, head back to the inn and get some rest. The next day, as Aoto and Tatsumi see each other off, Luphan comes and informs them that The Clustanian army halted all incoming ships, and Saki escaped with Gengai. Aoto decides to head to Fallen Heaven Peak(???) with Tatsumi, but they also need a Reyvateil along. The three heads to Finnel's, but as she is a virgin -- a diving vigin that is, Luphan asks Aoto to do so with her. Before you do so though, get some rest at the inn first. This will trigger a conversation which enables Talk Topics with Finnel. Then go right back into the restaurant, and pick up a Talk Topic. You may want to head back to the inn and do the Talk Topics, or save before you head into the Diving store, too. After the event, talk to the guy standing in front of the enormous machine, and start diving into Finnel's mind. This section of the walkthrough is detailed in . After leaving the Cosmosphere, we will get into a Party Topic event. These events occur sometimes when we talk to people, or when we see balls of light in the field map, similar to the Talk Topics we found. Now, head off to the inn to get some rest and save, and maybe to the store to get some healing items. After this, head to the world map, and into Fallen Heaven Peak(???). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location: Stairway to Fallen Heaven (????) Objective: Head to Fallen Heaven Peak (???) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An event starts as soon as we enter. Turns out that Saki, Dr. Gojo, and Gengai are fending off none other than Mute, the muscular m- I mean... woman we saw in the beginning of the game. Our party quickly joins in the fight. ******************************************************************************* Boss Fight: Mute (????) x 1 (HP: 900) Light RT (??RT) x 1 (HP: 190) ******************************************************************************* Try to take down the Light RT first. You can do this by either just attacking her, or using Finnel's purge on her (try to aim at both Mute and the Kakyuu RT if you are going this route). Afterwards, focus on Mute. Remember to avoid her walking into Finnel's heroine field, as she can deal quite a lot of damage on her. Her constant attacks may also be able to deal quite a heavy damage on Tatsumi or Aoto, so remember to heal them if their health bar drops. After this, Tatsumi introduces us to Gengai, whom Tatsumi worries about as he was attacked by Soma. Luckily, Gengai is fine, and he suggests the party should head to the Fallen Heaven Peak (???). After the event is over, Dr. Gojo and Saki will join the party again. First, climb that ladder and get a ?Fan? (?????) from the treasure chest. Next, head to your left, and rest at the save circle, as your character's health bars are probably exhausted. Unlike usually, we head into an event, instead of Talk Matters as we are usually permitted. After the event, you gain the ability to dive into Saki's cosmosphere. You can now head back to the town to dive with her. The walkthrough for Cosmospheres are available in the bottom of the Walkthrough section, . I also suggest you to head back to Eternus Shaft's inn, as there is a Party Topic there that disappears quite shortly afterward. Talk to the old man that stands to the right side of the room. Now head back to where you were, and to the right, but take the lower path. You will find a treasure chest containing a Rare Metal (?????). Now, head back to where you fought Mute, and cross the bridge. This will trigger a cutscene partway across. After the cutscene that follows, climb down the ladder, and run to your right. There will be two ladders: one heading up and one heading down. Take the one that goes upwards, as it leads to a treasure chest containing a B-Good ? (??????). It also provides a spectacular 2D scenery, in case you appreciate them. Now, take the ladder that heads down. At the end of the series of ladders, we can find another recipe, ?Dice? (??????). After this, head back up and continue heading to your right. Keep on following the path, and you will see a quite apparent treasure chest containing a recipe, ?Shiny Heavy Armor? (?????????). Climb up the ladder, and head right, you will see another treasure chest with a ?Whistle Missile? (??????) recipe. After this, climb up the stairs, and turn right. An event will start automatically. As the cutscene begins, we see a lot of helpless people running down. Gengai decides to talk to a few of them, who decided to submit themselves for "purification" in order to escape from the Clusterians' cleansing. After this, climb the stairs, and take the first ladder to your right to get a Snake Eyes Plate(???????). Yet another crate will appear in the same fashion, containing a ?Semi-Pro V-Board?(??????????). If you want to, head back down to the save circle and start making this item, as you should already have the materials. Afterwards, continue up the series of stairs, and after the fourth staircase you climb, there is another ladder to the right that leads to a Rare Metal. Lastly, you will find a chest containing a ?Fancy Scarf? (??????????) when you finish climbing the next staircase. Before you head right, after which an event will start, I suggest you to switch to Finnel as your Ryveltail. Here, you meet Luphan again. The party thinks there may still be people hanging in town. Before you can head inside though, two civilians with Border Disease (???) appear. ******************************************************************************* Boss Fight: Ultimate Border Human (????) x 3 (HP: 1000) ******************************************************************************* Be extremely careful here, as the enemies here are quite resilient due to their high?HP. Use Dr. Gojo as your leader, as his attacks help reaching enemies from a short distance, and constantly use your Ryveltail's attacks and purges. I chose to use Finnel because her attacks are in the form of linear paths, which will probably benefit you more than the small circular area that Saki's attacks are capable of, and that you are more likely to already have a higher purge level with her. Try to build up your burst and your heartbeat. This will allow you to deal a heavier damage on your enemies, and also allow Finnel to purge. Also remember to fend the enemies off of Finnel, because their attacks can also deal quite a heavy damage. Constantly use your healing items, while keeping the enemies occupied by attacking them outside of the heroine field, and you should be fine. After the battle, head up the stairs, and an event will start. After the event, climb down the ladder and head right. You will find a talk matter there. Then, head to the save circle and rest there. This will trigger a lengthy cutscene event. Afterwards, head back to the Save Circle and rest. Saki and Aoto will then have a nice bedtime chat together. Meanwhile, Gengai also asks Tatsumi to head back to the valley with Aoto, and proceeds to give Tatsumi a V-board magazine, which we can use to synthesize skills with. You may want to head back to the save circle to look at any of the Talk Topics that you may have. You may also want to synthesize the skill ?V-Board Trick 1? (?V??????) using the V-Style: Spring Issue (??V??????). If you didn't make the synthesis board earlier, you should have the ingredients to synthesize this skill, otherwise you will need to wait until you can buy another V-board. When you reach the bottom of the stairs outside, the party will again decide to camp outside, even though they just slept a moment earlier. An event will trigger during the night, and after the event is over, continue back to town. Back in town, Finnel will leave the party in order to go catch up with the bistro's matters. I also suggest you to head back to Eternus Shaft's inn immediately afterwards, as there is a Party Topic there that disappears quite shortly afterward. Talk to the old man that stands to the right side of the room. If you don't see it neccessary to get 100% completition, returning to the town may still be a good idea, as you can restock or buy new items or equipments as you see fit. Now, let's head to Gojo's clinic. This will trigger a cutscene, and Gojo will start talking about how Saki may have multiple personalities. Later, as Saki and Tatsumi heads to get Finnel, Gojo also gives Aoto a "Teppo", which will collect him more data regarding our heroines' status. Right afterwards, Saki and Tatsumi barges in and tell Aoto that Finnel hasn't returned to the bistro. As such, the party will have to go around town to find her. Head to the Yokkora Bistro, the Dive Shop, and the inn. After turning to these places, Aoto decides to run outside town to search for Finnel. After the cutscene, Finnel catches up with the rest of the party, and everyone begins to plan on what to do from now on. The party decides to return to the Blue Canyon Hamlet, and in order to hide Saki's identity, her body will be locked to Sarapatra's. Before we head out, we will be able to read through another Party Topic. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location: Blue Canyon Trail (????) Objective: Head to the Blue Canyon Hamlet (????) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the lengthy event, head straight back to where the tent is, and run down and then to the right to get back into the Hamlet. Before we head any further into the town, Tatsumi and Finnel will temporately leave the party. Going into the main area of the town will initiate an event, and crowds will begin to surround Aoto to congratulate them. You may want to explore the area a little, in case you didn't have a chance to last time. Afterwards, head over to Paper Scissors/God's Vale (?????), and pick up a Talk Matter for Saki, which you will have to wait until you get Saki back in order to view. After that, head into Aoto's house. This leads us to another lengthy cutscene, during which we will also earn a trophy for the first two CG illustrations we come upon in the story. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location: Old Eternus Gallery(????????) Objective: Rescue everyone and escape the area ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After Aoto wakes up, we find Yurisica, who is another one of Finnel's personalities. In order to escape from the cell, Yurisica uses a bomb that she made. Aoto finds Tatsumi in another cell closeby, and after rescuing him, he will rejoin the party along with Yurisica. As soon as you take control, get the Replica Horn (???????) from the chest. After that, you may want to save here before venturing out of the cell. Because of the high levels of the enemies here, you may want to fight as much as possible in order to level up your characters. Chances are, you will get used to getting purges, too. Climb up the ladder, and you will immediately find a chest containing Hot Video (??????). After that, keep following the path and ignore the stairs. The ladders leads you to a Duel Bobble(??????). Take the other ladder, and get the Protection Suit (???) from the chest there. Now, head back to the split, and jump up the stairs (you have to jump). You will reach a treasure chest containing a Human Anatomy (????:?). After that, follow the path and climb the ladder. Head straight to the bottom right to reach another crate containing an Emergency Patch (?????????). Once you have everything, jump down and take the ladder down. Run toward the bottom of the screen here, and after you get the B-Good ? from the chest, keep following the path, but ignore the ladder. Keep going, and you will see another chest containing a Optic Shield (???????). Then, proceed down the ladder. As soon as you take a few steps an event will begin. Walk straight along the path, and you will reach a chest containing another B-Good ?. There is also another chest to the bottom of the area here containing a Rare Metal. Now, keep following the path to the top of the screen, and another event will initiate. Here, you meet Gengai again, who was imprisoned after having his status as chairman stripped. Tatsumi will also leave the party for a short moment after the event, leaving only Aoto and Yurisica to fend enemies off. Keep following the path, and turn right after you reach the wall. Yet another event will then start, and you will get back into the town. Yurisica then explains that Finnel is actually quite weak, and it is her task to protect Finnel. She also explains that the crystal that awakens Soma's personality was forcefully installed on Finnel, and asks Aoto to take it out. Afterwards, Tatsumi and Gengai will regroup with Aoto and Finnel. The party weren't able to find Doctor Gojo, but Gengai points out that they are in Eternus, fortunately, as the doctor's clinic is here. Before you head over to there, though, there are several things that you can do. You may head over to the Dive Shop and continue through Finnel's Level 2 Cosmosphere, and also head back to the house where you first met Soma, as there is a Talk Matter with Finnel there. Once you get to the clinic, you will realize that nobody is there. As such, we will have to look for him around town. Go into the bistro, and the owner will tell you that she doesn't know about his whereabouts. She points out that the Fangers has been making a fuss the last couple days, though, and Gengai suspects that he could be hidden away by them inside their headquarters. Go back to the path to the clinic, and take the first right turn. A scene will trigger, and the soldiers will attempt to capture Gengai. ******************************************************************************* Boss Fight: Great Fang Soldier(???) x 2 (HP: 1100) Type 1(??) x 1 (HP: 600) ******************************************************************************* The fight isn't terribly hard; all you need to do is to keep attacking. After the fight, head down the path, and an event will be automatically initiated. You meet up with Gojo, but Saki is nowhere to be seen. She was taken away by the Clusteranian soliders, as the doctor says, and she is probably at Ciela Gate(???). Before the gang can head out, though, Eternus's mayor shows up. Turns out he is about to sign a peace treaty with the Clusteranians, and after apparently being annoyed by Gengai, another fight will begin automatically. ******************************************************************************* Boss Fight: Great Fang Soldier(???) x 4 (HP: 1100) ******************************************************************************* Again, this is nothing terribly hard, but watch out for the soldiers trying to snipe Finnel. After the battle, Ciela Pathway (????) will open up in the Eternus town map. Before you head out to that, however, go back to the intersection of the save point earlier, head down the path, and make a turn when you see a ladder. There's a treasure chest in this room containing a Proliferation Diode (???????). Taking the ladder here won't do us any help, so let's head back outside and take the ladder outside. This one leads us to another chest containing a Quick Loader (????????). Take that, and head up to find a ladder leading downstairs. There, we will can find a ?Medical Bag? (???????). The ladder on the other side won't lead us to anywhere useful for now, so let's walk down the stairs, and open the treasure chest containing a ?Worker Armor? (?????????). Now, head back into town, save, and maybe level up Finnel's Cosmosphere. After that, head over to Ciela Pathway (???). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location: Ciela Pathway (????) Objective: Head to Ciela Gate (???) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Head down the path, and an event will trigger automatically when you reach the ladder. Take the ladder, and then take the next ladder to the left, you will find a treasure chest containing a ?Electric Ball? (?????). After that, head back up and take the other ladder. Open up the chest containing ?Industrial Tool? (????????), and then take the final ladder down to a save point. After you rest up and save, head right to trigger another event, then head into the canal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location: Ciela Gate Reservoir (???????) Objective: Head to Ciela Gate (???) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Walk along the path until you find a valve. An event will trigger where Aoto explains how you can turn valves to change the flow of water in the canal. Before you turn the valve, first head to your right, you will find a chest with a V-Style: Summer Issue (??V??????) in it. Then head back to the valve, turn it and head left. Climb down the ladder and continue along the path. When you reach a fork, take a right and follow it until you reach a valve, turn it and head back to the fork. Head north this time and head down the ladder. Follow the path and take any ladders you come across. You will find a chest with a Beast Anatomy(????:?) in it. Head right from this chest and you will find a save circle. From the circle, take the lower ladder and follow the path up and down a series of ladders, you will find a chest with a Guardian Suit (?????????). Then take the ladder to the south of this chest. You will find another chest with a ?Tablet? (?????, this isn't an iPad!). Head back to the save point. Turn the valve to the east of the save point. Now head back to the save point and to the north. You will encounter two ladders here, take the one to the right. You will find a chest with a Rad Video (??????) inside. Head down to find a chest with ?Hip Clothes? (???????) inside. Then head back up the ladder and into Ciela Gate. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location: Ciela Gate (???) Objective: Save Saki from the Moebius Factory (??????) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First, you should head to the Inn to save. Remember to talk to the blue-clothed Reyvateil so that you know not to leave any mysterious stains on the beds. As hard as this must be, you need to put away the cookie dough and chocolate syrup and leave Finnel alone and continue looking for Saki. When you head out from the Inn, you will end up on Clockwork Street. Feel free to buy anything you need then head to the left to get to the town map. From there, head to the Moebius Factory (??????). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location: Moebius Factory (??????) Objective: Save Saki ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As you enter you'll be treated to an event. Heading north won't lead you to anywhere. So head south and out the door to find yourself an Anatomy of the Heart (????:?). Head right, up a ladder, and then to your left to find a ?High-Tech Medkit? (??????????). Now keep heading to the right to an entrance. Proceed inside, then climb up the stairs to the right, and leave the area. You can find a chest containing a ?Dragon Mouth? (???????). Now head back inside and to the left to find a ?Pro V-Board? (????????). Head down to get outside. Take the ladder up and turn left, and you will find a chest with ?Hyper Work Tool? (????????). Now keeping heading right until you arrive at the first ladder. Climb down and go right, and there should also be a chest containing a ?Magic Stick? (??????????). Remember to also head inside to find a chest with a ?Rotary Fan? (?????). Head back outside and up the ladders. Continue to your right and climb down the next ladder to find a door that leads inside. Take the elevator downstairs and you will find a save point. After you rest and save, head north to enter another room and trigger an event. Head right until you hit a fork. Another event will trigger and you will end up in a fight. ******************************************************************************* Boss Fight: Light RT (??RT) x 2 (HP: 1000) Type 1(??) x 2 (HP: 600) ******************************************************************************* This fight is easier then most of the random battles you have been fighting in this building so it should be no trouble. You will then meet up with Gojo's friend Katene. He says he knows where Saki is and agrees to help the party find her. Head right down the hall until you reach the last door, the left door is locked but the northern door is unlocked, enter and find a chest with a Criticoil (???????). Head back to the hall and enter the next door to the left. You can also find a chest with a R1 Solvent (????R1) in it. Now head into the next room where Katene was, and you will find a (????????). Now we can head up the coridor. At the next fork you will be told to go right, so do so and enter the first door. You will find a chest with a Iron Material (?????????) in it. When you reach the next fork, head to your right, and you will find a ?Frozen Can?(???????). After that, leave the room and go up to trigger a fight. ******************************************************************************* Boss Fight: Light RT (??RT) x 2 (HP: 1000) Type 1(??) x 2 (HP: 600) ******************************************************************************* Again this should be no trouble at all. You will then find Saki sleeping. An alarm starts to go off and the party decides to get the hell out of there. Before they can, you will have another easy fight. ******************************************************************************* Boss Fight: Light RT (??RT) x 2 (HP: 1000) Type 1 (??) x 2 (HP: 600) ******************************************************************************* Saki will then get a Hymn Crystal downloaded into her and you will fight another easy battle ******************************************************************************* Boss Fight: Type 1 (??) x 4 (HP: 600) ******************************************************************************* You now are in another room, in the middle is a large generator. Approach it and pick up a new Talk Topic. Then head over to the save point and rest up. Proceed upstairs towards the next fork. At the fork take a right and go down the elevator. Go left until you hit a fork. Take the left path and you will find a ?Industrial Armor? (?????????). Proceed right and up the stairs to the elevator. After you take the elevator, go right and upstairs. Eventually, the path will turn left and up. After the double staircase, you will find a chest with an Insane Video (???????). At the top you will find three elevators. First take the topmost one. Go right and up a ladder to find a ?Fishy Oil? (?????????). Then head back. Take the middle elevator and you will find nothing. Take the bottom elevator to continue on and you will reach a save point. Proceed south from the save point to find a V-Style: Fall Issue (??V??????). Go right and take the elevator to the DFP device. After a short event, a boss battle will start again with that one dude, Mute. ******************************************************************************* Boss Fight: Mute (HP: 6200) Advanced RT (??RT) x 2 (HP: 1800) ******************************************************************************* This boss fight is not that challenging. Just keep the enemies off of your Reytaviel until they can purge once or twice, and then try and hit them all with the cast. After this fight, the DFP will activate and you will get a cutscene. You will then meet Akane, the Supreme Commander (Who sadly isn't a giant robot ;_;) Afterwards, you will gain control in the inn, go to the right to pick up a Talk Topic. Head outside and to the right to pick up yet another talk topic. There are several things that you may want to do before we head to the Morocacca Port (??????) to board the ship to Arkia. Remember that there was a treasure chest in the room that Saki was sleeping in. If you want to have every treasure chest unlocked, head all the way back there, and take the Justine Ruin(????????) out of the chest. You may also want to stock up on some items and ingredents, or dive further into our two heroines. After you are all done, head to the dock using the town map, and board the ship to the next phase. This will also net you a trophy for your good work thus far, so rejoice! =============================================================================== 4) Cosmosphere Walkthrough AT3Cos =============================================================================== 4.1) Finnel's Cosmosphere AT3FCS =============================================================================== DP Amounts Required ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 1 - 620 + 155 (Optional) Level 2 - 1400 Detailed explaination of each level is located below. Beware of spoilers! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.1.1) Finnel's Cosmosphere - Level 1 AT3FC1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total Required DP: 530 Entrance Fee: 100 Leaf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finnel is the first character that you will be diving with. Inside her Level 1 Comsosphere, you will meet Momoko, who is sort of a guardian of Finnel's mind. After talking to her, head to Pain (?), the area that is marked with a star. In here, Aoto notes that there are tacks scattered on the ground, but Momoko replies that they won't hurt him. After this, Aoto hears Finnel's call for help. Pick the option "Walk over the tacks" to get to Finnel. It turns out that Aoto cannot touch anything in this world, and Finnel turns out to be hungry. Because of that, we have to find her some food. We can find this in our next destination, but as Aoto cannot touch anything, and Momoko declines to help, there is nothing we can do here. In our next destination, we will find a Hyuma called Ternita (???). Ternita tells Aoto that she is chained in the room, which can only be removed by someone from the outside world. As much as it sounds beneficial to help her, doing so will only exhaust the DP we have. Instead of picking the first option, which is to offer her help, pick the second option, "I'll free you, if you follow my orders." This will make Aoto to ask for her help in return, which Ternita accepts swiftly. After Ternita has joined you, go back to the jail earlier, and she will retrive the food for Aoto. Now, head to our next destination, which requires an additional 80 DP. After the event, in which Aoto promises to help Finnel, a paradigm shift occurs. Momoko explains this as Finnel accepting Aoto, and allowing him to further dive into her mind. Let's head to the stonehenge, where the shift occurs. This levels Finnel's Cosmosphere to Level 2, and takes us back to the real world. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.1.2) Finnel's Cosmosphere - Level 2 (?) AT3F2? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total Required DP: 280 Entrance Fee: 200 Leaf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After you arrive, head into the jail (which is marked by a star, as always). Inside there, we find Finnel locked up in the prison. Turns out that Finnel actually locked herself in there in order to run away from someone. After the event, head down to the shackles (?). There, you meet another Hyuma, Unita. Aoto then asks her to look at the top of the chessboard to find if anyone is there. Unita returns immediately, but also tagging along is Souma. Souma then attacks Aoto in order to chase him out. This costs us 100 DP. Afterwards, Finnel shows up, and pleads to Souma to kill her instead. Souma then simply walks away, while Finnel and Aoto continues on some cheesy conversation as if Finnel is dying. A paradigm shift then occurs immediately, so head over to the stonehenge. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.1.3) Finnel's Cosmosphere - Level 3 (?) AT3F3? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total Required DP: 200 Entrance Fee: 300 Leaf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As with last time, head into the jail first. It turns out that this is no longer the world of Finnel's conciousness. Finnel then goes on to lament her life, with Momoko's comments making it worse. Aoto then tells Finnel that he will bring happiness to Finnel, and to do that, he will have to head to the roulette. However, a paradigm shift occurs right after he leaves the room. Finnel then comes out, and says that everything's fine. Let's trust her, and head over to the stonehenge, and head on to the next level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.1.4) Finnel's Cosmosphere - Level 4 (?) AT3F4? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total Required DP: 100 Entrance Fee: 400 Leaf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Entering Finnel's Level 4 Cosmosphere brings us to a nostalgic RPG world with 8-bit music and not-so-8-bit graphics. Momoko even calls Aoto a hero upon his entry, despite his status as a Level 1. Head into the Overlord's Castle (??????), and we will find Finne, a Level 1 mage(according to Momoko), talking in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS or hiragana. Not along afterwards our party comes upon Shogun Tatsumi. Shogun Tatsumi assumes that our party is here to take the Manasphere, an item that can make the world reborn again. Next, we find Demon Lord Chisel. Finne attempts to defeat her by using a skill that was passed down her family, but before she could finish saying the long name, she was defeated due to her low level. We have no choice but to watch the world end, which leads to a paradigm shift. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.1.5) Finnel's Cosmosphere - Level 5 (?) AT3F5? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total Required DP: 500 Entrance Fee: 500 Leaf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The new world created by Kisseru turns out to have nothing but a toilet. There, we find Finnel, who wants Aoto to get out, even though there is nowhere else to go. It turns out that there is no plumbing, so Finnel couldn't flush after finishing her business. It turns out that there is no stonehenge in this world either, so a paradigm shift cannot occur. After getting back into the map, we will head into pretty much an endless recursion of time, unless if you have Tepo with you, who you will need to first obtain from Doctor Gojo, and meet the cute little creature first over at Saki's Cosmospheres. Once you meet Tepo, head back over to the toilet. It turns out that Finnel's inner world has multiple cracks. It also turns out that even though Aoto is at Level 5 as permitted by Finnel, this is actually not permitted by the Cosmosphere's H-waves. Aoto is only at the Level 5 Cosmosphere because Finnel attempted to protect him. Aoto then decides to head back to Level 2, as Tepo suggests. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.1.6) Finnel's Cosmosphere - Level 2 AT3FC2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total Required DP: 2020 + 575 (Optional) Entrance Fee: 200 Leaf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Heading back into the Cosmosphere, we will meet Soma at the Stonehenge. If you haven't already met Yurisica, Soma will immediately forces you out of the Cosmosphere. Once you meet Yurisica in the story, head back into the Cosmosphere. She will help you to fend Soma off. Turns out Finnel has been hiding in the prison as always, so head over there once the event is over. Aoto points out that Finnel always hide here. Tepo then shows up, and tell Aoto that Finnel and the other personalities do not remember what happened in the previous fake Cosmosphere levels. Aoto then convinces Finnel to come out and help somebody in the battle. As such, take her over to the stonehenge to meet Yurisica. There, Finnel agrees to help Yurisica, and to do so, the two will need to first fuse together. As a bonus to this, after the long event, you will be able to switch from Finnel to Yurishica as you please. After this, if you want 100% completion, you may want to head over to the shackles and the multiple other starred locations. Doing so will cost you 5 DP for entrance fee, and 150-200 DP if you get attacked. Head over to the west camp after that, and Yurisica will explain the current situation. Finnel also wonders if she will bring any good, and Aoto also says he will help. While Yurisica has already chekced Finnel's fighting abilities with the status windows, Aoto won't do anything good to them, as this is something that only they can take care of, and Aoto can't directly interfere as an outsider. She however asks Aoto to find a path to Soma's camp, though, as such, let's do that for her. Head over to Frontier(?????) after that, and when presented the choice, choose to attack with Finnel. As Kabotatsu is kept occupied, Aoto goes to save Ho-ryo-ryo, who will be available for us to equip afterwards. Next, go to the Mountain Square(????), and attack Meryl with Ho-ryo-ryo. The latter will then trigger her erotic powers You-Like-It-Hot Energy, and causes the former trauma. With that, we also net Meryl as part of our ongoing collection. After we go out, remember to go into the Mountain Square again, just so it registers us as having seen the event (after Haveli is stationed there). After that, go into the East camp, and after the conversation and subsequent fight between Yurisica and Soma, choose to protect Finnel. Soma then heads over to Finnel in order to chase her out of the body. Her attacks proved futile against Aoto, though, and was defeated swiftly. A paradigm shift occurs right after that, which Aoto doubts whether it's real. Regardless, head over to the stonehenge, and Finnel's purge level will level up to level 4. =============================================================================== 4.2) Saki's Cosmosphere AT3SCS =============================================================================== DP Amounts Required ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 1 - 620 + 155 (Optional) Level 2 - 1400 Detailed explaination of each level is located below. Beware of spoilers! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.2.1) Saki's Cosmosphere - Level 1 AT3SC1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total Required DP: 520 + 155 (Optional) Entrance Fee: 100 Leaf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saki's Cosmosphere provides a stark contrast when compared to Finnel's. This world appears bright and beautiful, and in a way reminds me of playing Atelier Rorona. As you arrive, you will meet Zwelivelle, who acts the same role as Momoko, and acts hostile to Aoto. Like he did with Mute, Aoto mistakes her as a prince. She's also hostile for the fact that Aoto called her master's name by a short nickname, which Aoto becomes surprised at. After the event, go ahead to Organito Hut(????????). Inside the house, you will find Saki happily singing random jingles. Despite Aoto's attempts, Saki won't respond to him no matter what. There, we meet Sakia Rumei, who was the woman we saw back at the hamlet. Sakia then offers to help Aoto to speak with Saki, and tells us that we need to find a Hyuma called Modeco (???), who is the key to letting Aoto to speak with Saki. Then, Sakia tells Aoto to head to the stonehenge, but before that, Saki begins to strip in order to change her clothes. Before we can see anymore, however, Sakia rushes Aoto out of the room. We meet Tsariveera again at the map, and it turns out that her master is, in fact, Sakia instead. She also makes Aoto to call Sakia by Sakia Rumei-oneesama, which Aoto declines initially, but relucently agrees after being threatened. There are multiple locations that we can now head off to. If you want 100% completion for Saki's Cosmospheres, head back to the house, and choose the first option to take a peak at Saki changing, which costs 155 DP. Next, head to World Tree Arfage (?????????). For some reason, Aoto decides to kick the tree, just as he did when he went to catch bugs as a child. Turns out Modeco was just sleeping in the tree. She complains to Aoto a little, but agrees to help Aoto, even though neither of them know what she's supposed to do. After this, take her to Sakia, who's at the stonehenge. Sakia asks Modeco to sing, which yielded deafening results. Afterwards, the map turned into a dark wasteland that can hardly be recognized. Head back to the house in order to check up with Saki, who aside from being all right, is also still changing. Aoto is then slapped unconcious. When Aoto wakes up, we find out that Saki can now speak with Aoto. However, the world is still a foresaken piece of wasteland. Aoto promises Saki that he will fix this, which Saki cheerfully replies to by telling him that it's fine. Still, head back to the World Tree. Saki explains that the World Tree is the source of energy in this world. We also meet yet another Hyuma, Buckle (????), who tells the couple that she's going to rebuild the world again. After she begins her Hymmnos chant, she disappers. Now, a Paradigm Shift will automatically occur, so let's head to the Stonehenge to finish this level. As a reward of passing Cosmosphere Level 1, Saki's purge level will also level up to Level 3, which means that she can now strip even further during battle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.2.2) Saki's Cosmosphere - Meeting Tepo AT3SCT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total DP Required: None really Entrance Fee: 200/300 Leaf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once you get Tepo from Doctor Gojo, heading into Saki's Cosmosphere will initiate an event with Tepo, who will introduce himself as "Cosmosphere Analyser, Transencoder, and Program Optimizer", or Tepo, as you can just call him (how that works is beyond me). He then goes on to explain his functions, which hardly anyone can understand. After this event, we will automatically boot into whichever level you are currently at in Saki's Cosmosphere, and you will need to install him there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.2.3) Saki's Cosmosphere - Level 2 AT3SC2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total DP Required: 1400 Entrance Fee: 200 Leaf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First, head into the village, which consists of houses made of edible sweets, courstey of Saki the housebuilder. Aoto has his own house, and other citizens, such as Tatsumi and Gojo, greatly enjoy this new habitat of theirs. Heck, Doctor Gojo has already finished eating an enitre house, even (despite being a doctor). A Hyuma, Arche, then shows up, and proclaim that his master is overtaking this world. After the event, head into the house. A Hyuma called Archelesser will immediately yell out that the room has been infilitrated. Arche then accuses Aoto and Saki as proclaiming war with him, and goes on to say that this world is not only Saki's. Go back to the village in order to have some discussion time with Saki. Aoto suggests Saki to draw out weapons and explosives in the world, which Saki immediately declines, claiming that this is a world of candies. Saki eventually decides to turn into a magical girl, and after a short chant full of meows (and the stripping scene that follows), she turns into... a nearly entirely naked girl with a cat custome's head. After the scene, you have two options. Instead of heading back into the house, go to the tree again. A Hyuma, Animesia, will show up, and asks Aoto whether he knows why Saki hates fighting. Pick the second option, "Because the world must always be peaceful", and she will join you in your journey of staying by Saki to protect her source. Now, head back into the house. Saki goes on to say that fighting is bad, and if Arche continues to be selfish, Nyamo Mask will get him. Saki, as with last time, failed in transforming. Before Arche and Archelesser can get her, though, Animesia shows up, and saved Saki and Aoto. Saki then decides to fight in order to protect Aoto, and creates a bomberman ripoff, Bombastic Man, who easily defeats Arche and Archelesser. Immediately afterwards, a paradigm shift occurs. Arche admits defeat, but vows that he will return. Although we still don't know who his master is, head over to the stonehenge in order to advance to the next level. You will also get Archelesser, the hymmno who tried to kill Saki and Aoto earlier, as part of your collection. Saki's purge level will also grow to Level 4, allowing us to strip another layer to our benefits in battle. =============================================================================== 5) Charts/Lists AT3C/L =============================================================================== To be implanted. =============================================================================== 6) FAQ AT3FAQ =============================================================================== Question: What is this game? Answer : Ar tonelico III is an RPG developed by Gust and published by Bandai Namco. It is the third game in the Ar tonelico series. Question: Isn't this game called Ar tonelico Qoga? Answer : Well yes, but I am inclined not to think so, even though Qoga means "demise" or "end" in Hymmnos. This guide is (initially) written with the Japanese version, so there are more occurances of it being referred to as Ar tonelico III than Ar tonelico Qoga. Question: When was this game released? Answer : The game was released in Japan on January 28, 2010. It was released in North America on March 15, 2011. Question: How do I unlock the "Extras" menu in the main menu? Answer : You unlock it once you beat the game. Question: Are there DLCs for this game? Answer : Yes, there are DLCs for this game. Weekly Binary World are additional Cosmosphere events for Aruru, which you can view by going to the temple in Tilia's Cosmosphere. The first issue of the DLC "magazine" is available for free, while latter issues will cost you $2 (200 yen) apiece. There are also personality patches for Harvestasya, which can turn her into a tsundere, among other things; there is also a patch that can turn her back to default. Last but not least, there is a custom, non-dynamic theme available for 200 yen. However, these are not yet available in North America. Question: Are there trophies for the DLC? Answer : No, there are no trophies for the DLC. In addition, there hasn't been any voice acting so far. So it's entirely for your visual novel-reading enjoyment. Question: Do I need to play Ar tonelico I and II before this game? Answer : It's not entirely neccessary, but you really should! They are both great games that add to the experience. Question: Is it true that you can enter debug mode in this game? Answer : Yes, if you are playing the Japanese version. To enter the debug mode, hold down L2, and press triangle in Cosmospheres. This feature is not available in the North American version. Question: Can I get any trophies with the debug mode? Answer : You sure can, but that would ruin all the fun. Question: How did you write this guide? Answer : Cloud668 wrote approximately half of the Phase 1 walkthrough using the game's Japanese version, while Blazewardog wrote up other parts using the American release. Depending on who the writer of each specific part is, the other also replays that area afterwards to catch mistakes and to fill in any blanks or the items/locations' Japanese or English names. Question: Is this game an adult game? Answer : Y- No. It may look like it with all the stri- purging, but it's not an adult game. Question: Have you written other guides before? Answer : A few, yes. Nobody really cares anymore about those games. Question: You must be bored to write the walkthrough and to ask yourself these questions Answer : Why, yes. I am bored. =============================================================================== 7) Virtual Credits AT3Cdt =============================================================================== Cloud668/Blazewardog..........If you want to bother thanking the people who wrote the guide.
