Rage Walkthrough/Strategy Guide/FAQ

Extras

Weapons

Fists
Description: Exactly what they sound like. Last resort weapon. Does moderate damage, but you’ll probably wind up taking some damage yourself if you get close enough to use them.
Fists of Rage: Only available as DLC. This upgrade adds some kick to your punch.

Settler Pistol
Description: The first weapon you acquire. Does minimal damage unless you get a headshot. Even then, sometimes the enemies will still get back up.
Fatboys: These rounds do twice the damage of normal bullets, but you’ll only be able to fit half as many in a clip. Headshots are undoubtedly one hit kills now.
Killbursts: Three or four regular bullets all stuffed into one. These rounds go off one right after the other, turning your ordinary Settler Pistol into a burst-fire machine pistol. Unfortunately, you have to reload after every shot.
Fat Mammas: These bullets do even more damage than Fatboys. Will put almost anything down in one shot. You can’t carry quite as many in a clip though.
Monocular: This isn’t an upgrade you can put on your gun, but as long as it’s in your inventory, it’ll act as a scope for the pistol.

Double Barrel Shotgun
Description: Only available as DLC. Does a ton of damage up close, but can still hit people further away if the need arises. Must reload after every shot though.

Assault Rifle
Description: An AK-47 clone. Pretty accurate, though firing in bursts will improve your aim and conserve on ammo.
AR Stabilizer: The gun will kick less, making it easier to drill into foes.
AR Concentrator: The bullet spread will be toned down, making it easier to drill into foes.
Feltrite AR Rounds: These bullets do additional damage to armored targets. Don’t use them against regular enemies, they’ll make no difference.

Combat Shotgun
Description: Does decent damage at close range, but you might have to hit wily enemies a couple of times to completely put them down. Not a match for the Double Barrel Shotgun in terms of power, but at least you don’t have to reload all the time.
Pop Rockets: Instant death. These powerful rounds gib enemies and set the remains on fire, just to be sure.
Shotgun Extender: Allows you to carry more rounds in the shotgun before reloading.
Pulse Shot: Fires rounds that also do electric damage. Great against the Authority.

Sniper Rifle
Description: Bolt-action rifle with two zoom levels. Does great damage, but still isn’t a one shot kill unless you hit the enemy in the head. The “bolt action” doesn’t take long at all.
Auto-Loader: This completely eliminates the bolt action, turning the sniper rifle into a semi-automatic.

Authority Machine Gun
Description: Highly accurate and has a sight that zooms in a bit. The quick rate of fire will put people down fast. Unfortunately, it’s a double-edged sword. You will be reloading ALL of the time.
AMG Laser Sight: A laser sight added to the gun for more accurate hip-firing.
Authority AV2x Rounds: These rounds contain pulse charges, making them more effective against armored enemies and the Authority.

Striker Crossbow
Description: Highly damaging with a decent rate of fire. Doesn’t come equipped with a scope, but can easily thin out a crowd at mid-range. Also nice for sneak attacks.
Electro Bolts: Firing one bolt into a pool of water will fry everyone standing in that pool of water. The bolt is also a one shot kill if you just shoot someone with it, and it’ll stun enemies standing nearby. Clip size is reduced, however.
Dynamite Bolts: Regular bolts that explode after a couple of seconds.
Mind Control Bolts: When you hit someone with this bolt, you’ll automatically take control of them. Move them next to another enemy and press A to detonate the body. Very cool device. Make sure you’re in a safe place before using it, however, since you can’t protect yourself.

Rocket Launcher
Description: Exactly what it sounds like. Holds four rockets in a clip and has a nifty scope. Four rockets should be enough to take down a buggy, so now you’re no longer defenseless while on foot.
Viper Rockets: These rockets can only be used against vehicles. They lock-on to the target and do more damage.

Authority Pulse Cannon
Description: A minigun that fires pulse rounds. Can put almost enemy down in a heartbeat.
BFG Rounds: Hold the trigger and the minigun will spin up, but all of the energy will collect at the end. When that ball of energy is released, everything in the surrounding area simply ceases to exist.

Turret
Location: Wasteland. You can get this while doing the Where’s Juno/Radio Tower Repair quest. When you leave the Outrigger Settlement, you’ll go across the street and enter another area. The first two enemies you come across will be looking away from you. Kill them, then head down the stairs to your right. You’ll enter a small room. The card is on a chair in here.

Rikter
Location: Wasteland. In the same area as the previous card. If you keep going to the top of the hill you’ll enter a building with Juno’s body in it. Move through the next room and you’ll enter another room with a ladder at the end. Look to your left as soon as you enter to find this card in the alcove, on a small ledge.

Wasted Club
Location: Wasted Garage. You can get this while doing the Find the Buggy Parts quest. As you’re going through the Wasted Garage during that mission, you’ll have to remove an alternator from the back of an engine. This engine is hooked up to a door via a car battery (the door handle is sparking), and when you remove the alternator, the door flies open. Go through it and head downstairs, then continue forward and look to the right for another set of stairs going up. The card is at the top, at the very end.

Wasted Pistol
Location: Wasted Garage. After collecting the previous card, continue to move through the garage, until you go through a hole in the wall and down another set of stairs. At the bottom, look behind the open gate inside a box for this card.

Wasted Turret
Location: Wasted Garage. After taking out the “boss” on the car turret, you’ll have to move around the wrecked car by going left. Once you re-enter the room, you should see an object in front of you that you need for the Find the Buggy Parts quest. Instead of moving to it, look to your left and you’ll find the card on a red container.

Dagger Thrower
Location: Just outside of the Wasted Garage exit. If you go up the dirt hill to the main road, then turn right, you can follow the railing on your right all the way around to the card, which is above the Wasted Garage exit door.

Ghost Pistol
Location: Ghost Hideout. As soon as you enter the hideout, go right, and under and over the obstacles. Look on the right wall for a locked door. You couldn’t open this on your first time through the area. You’ll find the card behind it.

Dune Buster
Location: Hagar Settlement. You get this card for completing Durar’s Time Trial.

City Guard/Club Mutant/Mayor Clayton/Jetter/Sheriff Black
Location: Wellspring. You can buy all five cards from Coffer in the Outfitters shop. It’s called the Starter Deck.

Sally
Location: Wellspring. You get this card for completing the Sally’s Bounty side quest, which can be started before you leave Wellspring for the first time and finished when you come back again.

Crazy Joe
Location: Crazy Joe’s Shack. You are required to go to Crazy Joe’s for the Miracle Cure side quest. Once you get there, head inside his shack and you should see immediately see the card on a cabinet.

Scoop Mutant
Location: Mutant Bash TV Studio. After making it through all of the arenas and fighting the boss with the tentacle arm, keep going until you reach an area with mine cart tracks on the floor. The card is on a cabinet on the left side of this tunnel. Can be obtained while doing the Cuprino Needed quest for Sheriff Black.

J.K. Stiles
Location: Mutant Bash TV Studio. After finishing all of the arenas for the first time while doing the Cuprino Needed quest for Sheriff Black, you’ll talk to Stiles, who gives you the card for making it through his game.

Cuprino
Location: Wellspring. You get this card for completing Sheriff Black’s Cuprino Needed quest.

RC Bomb Car
Location: Shrouded Bunker. You’ll enter the bunker while doing Sheriff Black’s Destroy the Bomb Caches quest. Clear the first room of enemies, then look for a red light next to a small hole on the opposite side of the entrance. The hole is big enough for an RC Bomb Car to fit through. The card is on the platform to the left of the hole.

Shrouded AR
Location: Shrouded Bunker. After using the elevator, you’ll move into a hallway with a lone enemy. The room after this is filled with bad guys. Take them all out, the enter the room and go right, towards the big closed semi-circular door. When you get in front of it, look to your left. The card is on a platform nearby.

Shrouded Heavy
Location: Shrouded Bunker. Not too long after the previous card, you’ll have to enter a large pipe. There’s a bandage on the rock in front of it. You’ll then come to a room with a few enemies that are all facing away from you. Enter that room and look to the right. You should see a big pipe against the wall. The card is inside the pipe.

Shrouded Minigun
Location: Feltrite Crater. You can get this during the Feltrite Crater quest for Mayor Clayton in Wellspring. As soon as you pull up to the structure inside the crater you should see sandbags. There is a container to the right of them. Enter that dark container and you’ll find the card laying on the ground.

Sentry Bot
Location: Outside of Kvasir’s lab. You can get this while doing the Feltrite Sample quest. Drive up to the area around Kvasir’s lab. There’s an intercom around here that you can use to talk to Kvasir, and to the left of the intercom you’ll find a Stanley Express mailbox. Look in front of the rock to the left of the mailbox and you should see this card laying on the ground.

Enforcer
Location: On your way to the Dead City Entrance. This can be done during the Defibrillator Upgrade quest you get from Dr. Kvasir. You’ll have to make your way to the Dead City. The entrance requires you to go under one of the on ramps in Scorcher territory. You’ll continue and have to go inside a large pipe. Just before you enter that pipe, look to the right. The card is on the ground right next to the pipe.

Large Mutant
Location: Dead City Streets. While working your way through the Dead City for the first time, you’ll defeat a large mutant that launches mortar-like rounds at you. You’ll then move through a building. Once you exit the building, two mutants will lob fire at you. Take them out, and to be sure, move towards the next building and deal with anything else that pops up. Look around for an open pipe at the base of the building, near the bottom of the stairs. You can’t fit inside, but an RC Bomb Car can. Send it up the pipe and blow it up by the boarded up doorway with the oxygen tanks next to it. Now, go upstairs into the building and search for an open doorway to the left. Follow this downstairs into the newly opened room and you’ll find the card on a red tool cabinet. If you can’t make an RC Car and the only thing you’re missing is an RC Car Kit and a Small Battery Pack, go towards the room anyway. You’ll find those items just outside of the door you need to blow up.

Kraken
Location: Dead City Streets. Just after you get the previous card, leave that building and drop down. You’ll face a bunch of mutants, including a large mutant with a tentacle for an arm. Once they’re dead, look for a single room on the right side. It’s filled with gore. The card is in here.

Slime Mutant
Location: Dead City Central. As soon as you enter Dead City Central for the first time, look to your left. You should see a lantern on a table. The card is on the same table.

Mine
Location: The Well. At one point while going through the Well, you’ll enter a room with a big pile of dead bodies in the middle. When you try to leave, the gate closes and you must dispatch the enemies. After that you move along some walkways and eventually go downstairs. At the bottom of the stairs (in the room with the pillars), keep going forward and look for an alcove on the left with a ladder in it. Use the ladder to get up to a room with the card in it.

Valder
Location: The Well. Just after you encounter friendly guys fighting it out with bandits. The first guy you meet tells you to follow him. Do so, but when he stops, keep moving forward. You’ll find the card on a container at the dead end.

Power Supply
Location: Authority Prison. Shortly after entering the prison, you’ll have to destroy a power supply to shut off some lasers in your way (the power supply doesn’t actually blow up or anything, it just loses power). After you go through doorway that had lasers in it, look for the card in a box to your right.

Giant Mutant
Location: Authority Prison. After the last card, you’ll soon enter a large room where enemies start dropping in from the roof. Once you clear the place out, you must shut down another power supply. Move through the door that had the lasers on it and keep going until you notice a big hole in the wall to your left. The card is on a cabinet in this hole.

EMP Grenade
Location: Authority Prison. You’ll pass through a series of rooms with turrets, and you’ll have to destroy the power supply in each room to take down the connected turret. After doing that, you enter a room where you have to destroy a power supply to get through some lasers. Go upstairs and when you reach the top, turn right twice and you should see the card on a cabinet in the corner.

Marshall
Location: Authority Prison. After using the button to open the cell doors and fighting off the mutants that are released, you’ll make your way downstairs. Just before you actually enter the cell block, look to the left in the doorway for another set of stairs leading down to a locked door. The card is on the other side. You can also grab this AFTER freeing Captain Marshall from his cell. He leads you downstairs into the same room with the locked door.

Drop Ship
Location: Authority Prison. After you release Captain Marshall and kill the enemies that come towards you, he opens a case on the wall opposite his cell and grabs a gun out of it. After he’s done that, look inside the case for this card.

Shield Guard
Location: Authority Prison. After Marshall blows the door, you’ll both get split up (and you should get the achievement/trophy for completing the Authority Prison). An enemy busts through the door next to you. Kill him and move through the door then immediately go right. The card is on a container in here.

Elizabeth
Location: Wellspring. After freeing Captain Marshall and leaving the prison, head back to Wellspring and enter the Second Chance bar. Enter the back room where you first talked to Elizabeth and head downstairs. The card is on a table in the middle of the stairs, you can’t miss it.

Drone
Location: Dead City Central. The second time you come here you’ll quickly enter the hospital lobby area. Authority soldiers also enter the area. Go down the first escalator and look behind it. The card is on a table around there.

Authority Mutant
Location: Resistance Base. After doing the Lost Research Data quest, speaking with Captain Marshall again takes you to the Eastern Wasteland and Subway Town. Your first stop however is the Resistance Base. After Marshall introduces you to everyone, go left and look in the medical room nearby for the card.

Dyno-Mutant
Location: Blue Line Station. You can get this while doing the Mutant Expansion quest. After you get off of the subway tracks you’ll be in the actual station. Go up the stairs and turn right. There’s a closed gate over here with a “guacamolito” sign over it. If you have an EMP grenade, throw it at the breaker box to the right of the gate to open it. If you don’t have an electrical weapon, you can come back later and the gate will be open. Either way, the card is inside.

Portman
Location: Distillery Caves. To enter the caves, exit Subway Town and go to the end of the bridge, then turn right. You should see the highway supports have graffiti on them. There’s a hole nearby. Enter it and continue until you reach a bright area. Keep an eye on the right wall for this card on a crate. You can get this at any time, or just wait until you do the Abandoned Distillery side quest for Dietrich.

Advanced Sentry
Location: Gearhead Vault. After entering, you’ll move through an area filled with enemies. There is a ramp leading up to the next level at the end. A heavy will probably come down it on your first time through the area. After going up the ramp, keep an eye out on your right side for a car. The card is on the backseat.

Gearhead Shotgun
Location: Gearhead Vault. After using a valve to clear a doorway of flames, move through that doorway and go right. The card is on a ledge at the end of the room.

Gearhead Jet
Location: Gearhead Vault. After entering the vault and picking up the cell, you have to backtrack into a room where electricity occasionally turns on a propeller. When you go to leave this room, you get locked in and a heavy busts through the wall. Go through the hole he created and you’ll see some stairs leading down. Look on the opposite side of the stairs and you’ll see some boards on a gate. There’s a chair next to that gate with the card on it.

Monarch
Location: Eastern Wasteland. Go right up to the Power Plant’s front door, then look on the ground to the right of it.

Gearhead Boss
Location: Power Plant. After going all the way through the building for The Price of Power quest, head towards the door to exit back out into the Wasteland. Before you use it, look to the left. A newly opened door reveals a staircase. At the top, look inside a filing cabinet for this card.

Jackal Crossbow
Location: Jackal Canyon. The moment you enter Jackal Canyon, climb the rocks to your left and you’ll find this card on a box.

Jackal Club
Location: Jackal Canyon. Not long after the last card, you’ll cross a bridge and have to use a lever on the other side. The card is on a container by the lever.

Elite Guard
Location: Eastern Wasteland, Authority Bridge, during the Assault the Authority Bridge quest. After you blow up the door and drive through it, you’ll use a lift to get onto a big bridge. After killing everyone, walk onto the bridge from the lift and turn left. Now move forward and enter the first “alcove” to your right. It has a generator in it that needs to be blown up. Look behind the nearby crates for this card.

Vehicle Jumps

Beginner’s Jump
Location: On the main road between the Ghost Hideout and Hagar Settlement. Go towards Hagar and you can take this jump, which is right in the middle of the road. Very hard to miss. If you’re having trouble hitting the floating marker, you might wait until you get the Buggy, then try it again.

Butterfly in the Sky
Location: On the main road between the Ghost Hideout and Hagar Settlement. It’s actually very close to the previous jump, though it rests higher, and underneath the broken overpass. Find the area where the overpass support pillars meet the ground. It’s kind of an embankment. If you drive at it (coming from Hagar), you can use this makeshift ramp to hurl yourself into the marker.

In the Basket
Location: On the road between Hagar Settlement and Wellspring. As soon as you move through the gate that you had to blow up, look to your left for a blue-ish embankment. Use this to get to a marker that you should also be able to immediately spot.

Tiger Jump
Location: On the road between Hagar Settlement and Wellspring. As soon as you move through the gate that you had to blow up, take the first right and stay on the main road. There’s a big obvious ramp in the middle of the road. This is the jump.

Crazy
Location: Between Hagar Settlement and Wellspring. You’ll need to head up towards Crazy Joe’s to get this one. To get to Crazy Joe’s, come from Hagar Settlement and go through the gate you had to blow up, then take the first right. Turn right again as soon as you can and go up the small road. The game lets you know when you’ve entered Crazy Joe’s “territory”. Now look around for a Stanley Express mailbox. It’s next to a short path. You need to line your buggy up so that it’s kind of in front of the mailbox but facing the short path. If you mash on the gas and boost, you should go forward onto the short path, then immediately hit the rocks to the left of it and ramp off of them. Stay on boost the entire time and you should hit the marker, which is high in the air. This might require multiple attempts.

I Think I Can
Location: Outside of Wellspring. If you’re leaving Wellspring to go towards Hagar Settlement, you’ll immediately be faced with a fork in the road. Go right, then turn right at the end and you should see a ramp on the left side of the road. This ramp leads to the marker.

Mini Gap Jump
Location: Outside of Wellspring. If you’re leaving Wellspring to go towards Hagar Settlement, you’ll immediately be faced with a fork in the road. Go right, then turn right at the end. You will go under the previous jump. The road soon forks, with one path staying up and one going down into a canyon-type area. There’s a big ramp at the end when the two paths converge again. This is the jump, and it’s hard to miss.

Leap of Faith
Location: As soon as you enter Scorcher Territory, keep going straight, up the highway directly in front of you. It’s not finished, and you’ll ramp off of it. Stay in the middle to hit the marker. To get to Scorcher Territory, leave Wellspring and head right. Just keep going and you’ll soon reach a paved area.

Highway Hop
Location: As soon as you enter Scorcher Territory, go left of the highway piece directly in front of you and take the on ramp to the left to get onto the highway. You should see the marker next to the on ramp. Follow the railing on the right side of the ramp and you’ll make a U-turn to the right. The road you’re now on is broken, so use it to jump into the marker ahead.

Dedicated
Location: As soon as you enter Scorcher Territory, go left of the highway piece directly in front of you and take the on ramp to the left to get onto the highway. Keep going until you see the marker on the other side of the railing to your left. Go forward and you’ll be forced to turn left. When you do, look on your left for some rocks that you can use as a ramp to hit the marker.

Science Makes You Crazy
Location: Near Dr. Kvasir’s lab. As soon as you enter Scorcher Territory, go left of the highway piece directly in front of you and take the on ramp to the left to get on the highway. Keep going, past the Northern Watch Tower and past the previous jump. While driving, keep an eye out for the jump marker just over the edge on your left. The spot where you find it is blocked by a big pile of rocks, which is there on purpose. You’re not supposed to charge at it. Simply get close to the edge, then use boost to just kind of fling yourself into the marker. After you hit it, you’ll land in front of Dr. Kvasir’s lab.

Gimmee
Location: Eastern Wasteland. Exit Subway Town and go straight. This marker is just off a small cliff almost directly in front of you. Hard to miss.

Bunny Hop
Location: Eastern Wasteland. Between Subway Town and the Power Plant. As you’re going towards the Power Plant, you’ll come across half a ship in the ground. Before you get to the ship you should be able to see the marker up and to your left. Keep going and get on the highway to your left. From here you can just drive into the marker.

Over the Hill
Location: Eastern Wasteland. This marker hovers right by the Bunny Hop one. Make your way towards the Power Plant and when you reach the area with the ship in the ground, look left for a highway you can get on. When the pavement turns to dirt again, look to your left for some green highway signs that you can use to ramp into this marker.

Shock and Awe
Location: In front of the Power Plant. As you approach the Power Plant, look on the right for this marker hanging just off a flat rock. Drive up to the Power Plant entrance and then go right to get up onto this flat rock.

In the Gears
Location: Drive up to the Power Plant’s front door, then go left onto a metal piece sticking out. The marker is at the end. Very simple to collect.

Off the Dune
Location: During the Assault on Capital Prime quest. Drive across the Authority Bridge and stay to the right. You should eventually pass through a rock arch type thing. Once you do, immediately turn to your left. The sand dune that comes up next to one of the pillars on the rock arch makes a ramp. Use it to reach the marker ahead.

Near the Heart
Location: In the same area as the previous jump. Keep going forward from the previous jump, but stay to the left this time. You’ll quickly come across a tower with blue lasers at the entrance that spawns vehicles. Go just to the right of this tower and drive along the ledge. You should see the marker off the edge of the outcropping just ahead. If you line up with the marker and back up to make the jump you’ll be behind the vehicle spawning tower.

Sewer Entrances

The sewers are only accessible if you bought a new copy of Rage and redeemed the code inside the case. If you have done that, then you can find these small hatches scattered around the world. Traversing a sewer is technically a side quest, but it only ever involves you pushing your way through hordes of mutants to get to a pile of bones that contains some loot. You’d do well to carry a few Bandages with you, and make sure you’re stocked up on ammo before you enter.

Ark Area Sewers
Location: On the main road between the Ghost Hideout and Hagar Settlement. Right in front of entrance leading to the Ark Emergence area and the Wasted Garage exit. You’ll see a man standing on the side of the road near a small hatch.

Outrigger Sewers
Location: On the other side of the street from the Outrigger Settlement, at the entrance to the path that leads to the radio tower and the Wasted Garage.

Wellspring Sewers
Location: Just outside of Wellspring. If you face the Wellspring gate, look to the left for a big pipe. The hatch is by the end of the pipe that goes into the ground.

Southern Sewers
Location: If you’re leaving Wellspring, go due West and keep an eye out on the left side for a ramp that leads onto a highway. Look underneath this ramp for the sewer entrance.

Northern Sewers
Location: Head towards Scorcher territory. As soon as you enter it (the moment you pass through one of those two holes) go right. You should go under some kind of walkways. After passing under the second one, look to your left. You should see the sewer entrance near a Stanley Express mailbox.

Plateau Sewers
Location: In front of the Northern Watch Tower. Enter Scorcher territory and use the left side on ramp to get onto the highway. Follow this around until you’re in front of the Northern Watch Tower. Now get out of your vehicle and stand in the middle of the path that leads through the gate. Turn around so you’re facing away from the gate and look ahead. You should see two rocks ahead of you with a “groove” in the middle that you walk through. Go through that groove and keep heading straight and you’ll run right into the sewer entrance. This is in the same area as the Dedicated vehicle jump. Do NOT go into these sewers without a decent amount of ammo and preferably some explosives. At the beginning you’ll go down a ladder. In this large room you’ll face a horde of mutants from every side AND a huge mutant that shoots some kind of mortar thing at you. It’s easily avoided, but he takes a lot of damage.

Kvasir’s Sewers
Location: On the ridge overlooking Kvasir’s lab. To get up to the ridge, enter Scorcher territory and use the left side on ramp to get onto the highway. Follow this around, past the Northern Watch Tower, until you reach the cliff overlooking Kvasir’s lab. Go to the far end of the cliff and you’ll find the sewer entrance. There’s a Rocket Launcher to pick up in here just before you leave.

Subway Town Sewers
Location: Eastern Wasteland. Leave Subway Town and go to the end of the bridge, then turn left and look on top of the nearby flat rock for this sewer entrance.

Shipyard Sewers
Location: Eastern Wasteland. If you know where the Over the Hill jump is, find the ramp made out of green highway signs that you use to hit the jump marker. If you face the signs, the sewer entrance is to the left. If you don’t know where that jump is, then head towards the Power Plant from Subway Town. When you enter an area with a ship in the ground, look on the left for a highway you can drive on. When the pavement turns back to dirt, look to the left for the makeshift highway sign ramp mentioned above.
