Metal Gear Acid Walkthrough ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------Metal---------------Gear---------------Acid--------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------Only----------------For----------------PSP---------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Author: Robert (aka SkyeHack, SkyeHack@gmail.com) Version: 1.0 (March 29, 2005) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The game is developed and published by Konami. The story takes place in the year of 2016, where an Airplane has been hijacked by unknowns and they demand only one thing: Pythagoras. Snake Solid is to head to Lobito Island and obtain Pythagoras... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's start with the controls during a mission: Start Button - Demo cancel / nothing Analog Pad - View the surroundings L Button - Rotate camera angle R Button - Rotate camera angle Triangle Button - Bird's eye view / Fasten movement when it's enemy's turn but could skip your turn if you press it just before your turn Circle Button - Confirm Square Button - View details of a card (when selecting a card) X Button - Cancel / main menu Select Button - View enemy's stat D-Pad - Move the cursor, select a card, make movement..etc For the intermission: Triangle Button - Deck change (at card edit) Circle Button - Confirm Square Button - View details of a card (when selecting a card) X Button - Cancel D-Pad - Select a card, move the cursor...etc ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Game - Start a new game *Load Game - Load a save data that you made previously Continue - Load up the temp save you made previously Options - Adjust message speed Password - Enter a password for bonus card (Check the walkthrough) **MGS3 Link - Links up to MGS3 for bonus on both games with a USB cable *If you load the clear game data, you can pick Normal or Extreme difficulty to start a new game **need to beat the game once for this option to be selectable ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Game Over - When all player characters' LIFE are 0, that means Game Over Save/Load - You can only save during the intermission and a temp during a mission The Flow 1/ Intermission, where you can redo previous areas for extra missions, or buy cards, edit cards or save your game. 2/ Mission Start, where you need to meet the objective 3/ Mission Complete, when you meet the objective, you will given a Rank based in four areas: Cost, Found, Kills and Total Damage. Besides the rank, you will also be given points where you can use to buy cards. Also, there are side ranks and they are: No Kills, Speedy and Not Found. Card Usage / Actions - The player will have a hand of cards, up to certain amount. Each turn, you will either use the card to move, use the card itself or equip the card. Then you will draw more cards randomly. A player can only have up to 6 cards each time. When your current hand has less than 6 cards, you will draw cards, which is max at 2 cards normally - If you select MOVE, the available movement blocks will appears. After you make the move, you will asked for the direction and to stay or stand/crouch. If your direction is facing a wall or related objects that you can lean your back against to, the KNOCK command will appear in the main menu - If you select USE, you will activate the card's effect, depends on what it is. Sometimes, you need to confirm, such for the range - If you select Equip, your will equip this card to the upper right corner squares and then the effect will appears, depends on what card it is. Some amount of weapon cards need to you to equip one card and in order to use it, you need to get another same or similar type of weapon card to use it - If you don't want to do anything, press X for the Main Menu, that allows you to do other things such as Knock if you are against a wall, end your turn just like that or discard 2 cards. You can also punch a near guard by the way - Finally, you can make the temp save as I said earlier or return to the inter- mission. An enemy does about the same but they can call for backups if they found you ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Normally, when it's your turn, there are the followings: Upper Left Corner - Your life gauge(current/max) and deck(remain/total) Upper Right Corner - That shows your equipments Near your character - The top is the life gauge, then usable cards, the current cost and turn number West of the screen - Card window, views the card that you can highlighting Bottom of the screen - The cards you have right now, max at 6 cards ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unlike the other games, this game is turn based. Plays much like a S-RPG but filled with Metal Gear Solid series stealth and infiltration theme based actions done in turn based manner. Each turn, you make the actions with the cards or from the main menu. Most of those actions will require APs. The higher the APs, the slower your next turn should come. The cost of a card is shown by the number on the right corner of a card. As for the cost of main menu actions, here they are: Punch - 4 Cost Discard - 6 Cost End - 4 Cost Knock - 0 Cost ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Through the game, you can find packs within places. You will obtain these cards at the end of the mission. Besides, that, some enemy can also drop packs. Also, there is a shop where you can buy cards with points, if you got the points. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cards separate into 5 catagories: Weapon Card - Use or Equip, mainly for attacking Action Card - Use or Equip, mainly to support actions or attacks Support Card - Supports actions and defend yourself mainly Item Card - Supports actions and heal LIFE Character Card - Varies. The characters are from past games in the series and characters from other Konami games, except for couple On each card, you can see the card's catagory, name, info and rarity which is represented by the star at lower right corner. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you Equip 'Weapon' and 'Item' cards near each other, an effect will appear and depends on what colour it is: Red: Near card(s)'s ATK +10 but DEF-10 Blue: Near card(s)'s DEF+10 but ATK-10 Green: Near card(s)'s Reaction Rate +10%, DEF+5 but ATK-5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reaction, also known as Counter-Act. Some cards have an rate of counter acts, some just don't. That mostly apply to attackings between you and the enemies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stay - Remain at the spot standing or crouching Crouch - Changes to crouching from standing Stand - Changes to standing from crouching Behind - Leans against a wall Ladder Up - Go up a ladder Ladder Down - Go down a ladder Elude - Allows you to hang(need a card that allows Elude) Return - Cancels Elude Drop - Drops down during Elude End - End a turn Discard - Discard 2 cards Punch - Attacks near enemy Knock - Knocks the wall/object to make noise to lure the enemy System - Make a temp save or return to intermission ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- During this, you can view the surroundings and get to know the place better. Enemy's stat and range can be shown with this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Infiltration Phase - Normal playthrough. Enemies guard the place and camera as well. Each enemy will have a set of route they take, study them carefully if you wish to be stealthy. If you knock on a wall, they will run to that spot and check it out. Alert Phase - Enemies are well aware of your presence. Backups will also come in. Evasion Phase - Slightly lower than the Alert phase, enemies are still seeking around. Caution Phase - Lower than the previous Evasion phase, will return to normal infiltration phase soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- White Exclamation Mark - The enemy might have heard you or saw you. Not to sure yet, hence they will come and check things out Red Exclamation Mark - The enemy has found you White Question Mark - The enemy seems to be mistaken or lost you HELP - They are calling for helps, usually turn into Alert Phase Stun - 3 Stars at first, then fewer and fewer, then they will wake up Sleeping - 3 Zs to begin with, fewer and fewer as time goes, then wake up ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Map Select - Allows you to view the map and select your next location. You can also go back to old areas for extra missions. An extra mission has different objectives vary from killing all enemies, making to the destination with being found...etc Deck Editor - Allows you to edit your cards. They are sorted under different categories. If you got the time, you can take your time and select the cards in or out by pressing Left or Right. If you are lazy, you can select AUTO to make the AI to do it for you. You can have up to 4 of the same card. Card Shop - Where you are buy card packs and Single cards. You will need points to buy them. What you get are random from the packs and the Single cards will slide as time goes by. Save - Allows you to save your game. Options - Adjust your text speed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Number: Number of the card, vary from 1 to 204 Name: Name of the card and since this is based on the Japanese version, some names I did translate Cost: Cost of the card Category: Category of the card Pack: The pack where the card is from and can be found Rarity: Determines how rare the game is by the number. ---------------------------Complete Walkthrough-------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Insert your Metal Gear Acid UMD into your PSP and start your PSP up. Once you get to the main menu, before you start, let's input some passwords: - Viper (Card No.173 - Viper) - Mika (Card No.178 - Mika Slayton) - Karen (Card No.182 - Karen Houjou) - Jehuty (Card No.184 - Jehuty) - Xmeight (Card No.199 - XM8) - Sabrage (Card No.200 - Kosaka Yuka) - Nomel (Card No.201 - Yoshida Asaki) - Elyts (Card No.202 - Saitou Yuu) - Maeb (Card No.203 - Shibuya Eri) (*You will get these 9 cards at the intermission*) After you input each of these passwords, select New Game to start the game. A scene will take place shortly after then quickly taken into actions with the female soldier Bravo(Teliko). What she does here are all automatic, so you just need to sit down and watch. Basically, this is how combat works in this game. After, couple scenes and we will be taken to Snake. Select the 'Genom Soldier' card which is the second one from the left, then move to north. As for the direction that you should be facing, go with North as Roger wants. Then for the pose, you can have Stay or Crouch. We will stay this time. After, a flashback to yesterday with two mysterious puppet dolls that go with the names of Elsie and Francis, hijacked a plane with the help of a muscle relaxant, Vecuronium Bromide. Then a quick scene with Snake running on Lobito Island, then back to Elsie and Francis. They demand one thing - Pythagoras, with time limit of ten hours. After, more scene with Snake running then another flashback to the day before, a scene with a man named Charles. Then another scene with Roger and Snake. Roger will inform Snake on the situation. It seems Roger heard of Snake from a man named Roy Campbell. Fans of the series should know that name very well. After, back to Lobito Island with Snake. Snake will come to a ladder. For this situation, select the 'Body Armor' card which is the fourth from the left, and make sure to move your cursor down to 'Move'. Then move toward the ladder. Pick left for the facing direction(so Snake faces the ladder), then you should see 3 options: Stay, Crouch and Ladder Up. Select Ladder Up and now for the next move: Select the 'Front Evade Lv.1' card and equip it. After, select End to end the turn. Next, we will need to use the Genom Soldier card again to move to north. Before the fence, select the SOCOM and use it. Confirm couple times to shoot the lock on the fence. Thus, Mission Complete! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another scene with Roger and Snake here. Roger will inform Snake that a new data called CHAIN has been inputted into Snake's sneaking suits. Roger will then introduce a person to Snake. She's called Alice, the one with the 'Psy Function'. Psy Function is also known as Distant See Through, in another words, telepathy. She will be helping you with the navigation through out the Lab. Afterward, Snake will head toward the Gate. At the intermission, make sure you save your game then select 'Map Select'. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the map, select the next location. After the scene, press Triangle and use the D-Pad to check around this location. Let's try to take out the near enemy first. He's just a bit right from where you start. As you get near a wall, Roger will inform about the function called 'Behind' if you are facing the wall, which can allow you to do 'Knock' on the wall to attract near enemy. Once the enemy near you walks away, you can attack with the SOCOM or FAMAS if you've saved those cards. Or you could set some Claymore then knock on the wall to get him to get near. If you don't want to kill, go for stun grenade or close range punching. Those are more steathy and bit more risky. After, enter the room and obtain the 'MGS1 Pack'. There are 3 enemies left. One is to the upper right and one to upper left, then the final one is to north. Whichever way you want to do this is up to you, but do make it different method each time so you can getting pass this stage and get practice on the system of the game. You might want to save one Ration and Weapon card(SOCOM, FAMAS and HF Blade) in case of emergency. For the upper left one, I get close and knock on the wall to get him to waste cost and get near. Then you can attack from behind or front with FAMAS or HF Blade. SOCOM is weaker in general, but the good thing about it is it doesn't leave behind any noise. For the upper right one and the north one, you will need to knock and lure them as well. There are two rooms you can use it, and each room also have more MGS1 Pack. Once you make it to the north end and pass the gate, you've cleared the mission. You will get a ranking here. As you can see, your ranking is mostly determined by the Cost, Found, Kills and Total Damage. You will be rewarded points based on what you did. Afterward, hit Circle to continue. As Snake speaks to Roger, someone named Garry will cut in the conversation. Roger and Snake agreed to test out this possible enemy so Snake will engage in conversation with Garry. This Garry turns out to be a technician of this Lab. He will brife about the situation within the Lad and tells Snake his location: North of the gate, The Managing Department. He will also try to tell the location of the Doctor Fleming, which is east of. Anyway, we got our next clue: North of the gate. We need to go there to talk with Garry about Doctor Fleming. Back on the plane, a scene with Vigo(Senator Vigo Hach, rumored to be the next president) and Lena. Lena will try to go take a look around. After, a scene with Elsie, Francis and Vigo. Looks like the pilot and the vice-pilot are both dead. Anyway, back to intermission, you will now have Deck Editor. Take some time to mess with it to fit your own play style. If you are too lazy, go for Auto. After, save your game and to the next map. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Within, Roger will inform about the baddie here. They are with a man named Leone. Lieutenant Leone is the leader of the Anti-Molloni Government group. The soldiers here are actually mecernaries around the world that share the same ideology. What exactly that Leone's Team is doing here is unknown at this point and we will just have to play on. Watch out in this place, there are surveillance cameras around here. Although we already know about COST at this point, but Roger will try to explain more. If you are familiar with Strategy RPGs, you should know how it works. If not, basically this governs how far can you move and how much can you do. Sort of like a weightness. Afterward, we are to find Garry here, somewhere at north. Let's start. By now, the first thing you should be doing is press Triangle and check out the whole area. There are couple enemies and lots of cameras. Ok, take the near room to north. Within, there is another enemy. Collect the MGS1 Pack here and back out. Now take the right path. But the problem is, there is a guard and a camera around. So you might want to use the good old knock on the wall trick to lure the enemy to come. You could repeat this for the other enemy that's around. Claymore works here as well. You know wherever you make the knock, if the enemy hears that, he will come and examine. You could set the Claymore on the path he MUST take in order to get to that spot. Just make sure you have space to retreat to, so you are not too close to the Claymore and get hurt when the enemy activates it. For the camera, you could shoot them down. Beware of the upper room here, the enemy is facing right at the door entrance. If he sees you by the door, he might just call for backup. If that's the case, you could either hide or shoot down that enemy ASAP. For the north enemy, Claymore works pretty well against him. Afterward, walk to the circle mark on the floor. A scene will trigger take place here. Alice wishes you to wait. Alice FEELS that you should go west instead of north. So go west in this area. There is only one enemy but two cameras. The enemy here calls backups if he sees you as well. You could take out the camera near first, then lure the enemy. But beware of the distance so the enemy won't catch you when you are trying to break the camera. If anything happens, run into the room that's near the first camera. In this room, there is a robot watching out. Your next location is the the door across/to the right. Once you avoid the robot and make your way to the right, enter the door to see someone runs off. We could guess that's Garry. Get rid of the enemy and don't forget to get another pack here. After, make your way to north from this north. There will be another cut scene here. Snake will found Garry here. Then there will be quick scene with Teliko running into areas. Back to Snake and Garry. Snake will ask for the location of Doctor Fleming. Garry will hint out the next location which is FAR: Fleming's Assembly Room. Doctor Fleming has already been transported to the eastern residental area. And we are going to the eastern residental area. Snake will tell Garry to stay here and he will pick Garry up after all these is over. Now, your next objective is take the eastern door. That's a bit tough with all those enemies. Lure them and kill them with SOCOM or Claymore. If things start to look bad, try to rush your way through. After, once you step onthe mark on the floor, you've completed the mission. After viewing your ranking, there will be another scene with Vigo and Lena talking about the dead pilots. Then another scene with Elsie and Francis, talking about a message, from the '1' and '14' marks on the bodies of the dead pilots. After, Vigo will get Lena to contact the White House. Afterward, a rather funny commercial on the the Card Shop. You can now buy Cards from the shop, using the points you get for completing each mission. If you need points, go back to the previous mission for Extra Missions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Press Triangle and view the area around. It looks like a dead end pretty much. The fence that's near blocks you from going further, then there are the walls. Take out the near enemies first if you wish. If you ever blew your cover, just use the spot(by the stairs that's near, just below the camera) to 'Crouch' and hide yourself. Close to the left side of the stairs, you should get a codec from Roger. Basically Snake will inform about the situation. After, see that cracked wall around? Get near that. Another call here. Well, we will need some sort of weapon to break down this wall and there is just the place to go for: The weapon house, west of the Managing Department. We will need to get C4 from the weapon house, so backtrack out this stage, thus mission complete. This stage is probably the easiest so far to get S Rank. If you use crouch to get to the cracked, you should get zero in Found, Kills and Damage. The only thing to worry much is the camera by the cracked wall. Anyway, to the next stage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Press Triangle and view around. Couple enemies and the blue mark is to the most left of this area. Get in the near house to get a MGS2 Pack. You can also use this house to lure an enemy here and kill him after. When you are moving around this area, beware of Claymores around. If you have a Mine Detector, you can use those to take out the enemies. This stage is a very small area, so make use of crouching your way through. Once you make it to the blue mark to the left, mission complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here we are at the weapon house, another chat with Roger and Alice. Snake will further doubt Alice and said adults shouldn't be taken order from a kid. Now in this area, as you can see, lots of doors are locked. The C4 you are looking is on the second floor. And to get to the second floor, you need to take either the stairs at SW or S. The path is straight forward. Knock on walls to lure the enemies to come, kill them with SOCOM, FAMAS or Claymore. There are two rooms in here with packs, so make sure you get those. I suggest you take the south west stairs up because that's very close to the room with the C4 on the second floor. Second floor, within the room with the C4, there is Gun Camera. Get near and shoot it down diagonally. Once you got the C4, back track all the way down to the first floor, to where you started in this place. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before you go back to the ruins, make sure you put C4 in your deck. Now get to the cracked wall, and put the C4. You will need to shoot it to set it off and make sure you not too close otherwise you will hurt yourself. Also, setting off the C4 makes quite a noise, make sure you crouch in and hide after. There is a Stinger lying around as well, make sure you pick that up. Once you make it to the blue mark, another dialogue with Roger. More on this Pythagoras, it seems there are people across the world willing to risk their lives to get involved with the experiment. These people were injected with all kinds of virus then they compare the results with the new medicines. Anyway, we need to get to the residental area to see Doctor Fleming. After, another scene with Vigo and Lena on the plane. Vigo wonders about this kid that sits behind. Minet Donel will introduce herself and talks about she gets used to riding the airplanes just by herself. Then another scene with Elsie and Francis, then back to Vigo and Lena, knowing the situation with Solid Snake. Again, another scene with Elsie and Francis, then back to Alice talking with Minet, then Elsie and Francis again. After all these scenes, back to the intermission screen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Roger will further inform the situation on the plane. But we already know that Elsie and Francis started to kill people on the plane. The pilot and vice-pilot were already killed with marks of 1 and 14 left behind. Just moment ago, Elsie took care of a stewardess and left behind the the number 11. Snake will further doubt Alice and Roger will use example of the Harold Barton incident. Harold was found killed with hundreds of wounds. Alice was the one taht solved it. Roger repeats that Alice IS the real thing. Anyway, we are going to the east house to get Fleming. Beware of the enemies here, they got better defense. Make your way north from where you start and enter the house. These rooms got sensors by the door, unless you want to alert the enemies, otherwise, don't enter them. However, there are some rooms with packs, what you could do is when you are in alert, go in these rooms and collect the packs. Continue to make your way to the east. You will need to go through houses, then up and down the ladders. On the way, don't forget to pick up the Nikita Missle. Once you get near the eastern house, another chat with Roger, talking about Lenoe this time and his ideology against the government. As Snake takes couple steps, Garry will codec in. He will inform you about the security of the room with Fleming. The CCD scan here will alert the alarm. We will need some sort of password. Anyway, enter the house and get near the scan. Roger will tell you to enter the password 'Pythagoras'. Anyway, couple rooms down, you get another scene where you found a person with a bag covered his head. As Snake get near, Leone and his soldiers come in and found Snake. Leone will start to insule Snake and then killed off the person with the bag covered his face(probably Fleming). Just before Leone tries to kill Snake, someone threw in a Stun Grenade. And it turns out to be Teliko, the female soldier from the very beginning of the game. She will introduce herself as Swallowtail Butterfly then wish to escape to the north exit. She has the Level 1 Card so that could open all Level 1 doors. Her weapons work differently. She needs to have one card of a kind to equip and a second card of the same kind to load and attack. Anyway, make your way pass the yellow Level 1 door with the 'Card Level 1' from Teliko's deck. As long as one person makes it to the blue mark, you will clear the stage. I suggest using Teliko to get to the blue mark and have Snake to get back in the house and get the pack in one of the rooms if you haven't done so. Another scene will take place. It turns our Teliko used to work for Roger. As you might have guessed it already, the one that was just got killed by Leone isn't a fake. The real one has already been sent to BRC-026. Teliko will join along with Snake to the next destination afterward. Back on the plane, Minet is searching for the bomb and another scene with Elsie and Francis. Afterward, anther silly commercial for the card shop. This time, MGS2 pack is now buyable. You can also edit Teliko's deck as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is one stinking area. Anyway, Roger wishes you to check out this Hans Davis person. If you remember, this is the name that got you passed the security back in the residental area. This Hans Davis seems to a central figure of this lab years ago. Garry will codec in and mentions about this 'Ceremony of Insect Poison', then further continues on interesting things, related on the new medicine here, the clinical patients and test subjects. One thing however, stands out the most. He says Pythagoras that we are seeking right now, that's Metal Gear. Anyhow, we not going to find out that Pythagoras is really a Metal Gear or not, neither that Leone is seeking the Metal Gear to use it to launch an assult to America. Let's clear this stage first. It's not a big area and your main concern is the enemies on the path to north. But thanks to Teliko in the party now, you can gang up on both sides. Just make sure you take on the enemy one by one. With Snake and Teliko, you shouldn't have any trouble taking care of one enemy. Once both Teliko and Snake make it to the white marks to north, on to the next area. This area has a tricky concept to it: The locks function with at least 2 person, so that means prisoners within here can't flee unless there is at least another person helping. We got Snake and Teliko here so that is not a problem. What's even more tricky is: How did Gary got in? He certainly was alone, or did he got help? Alice will then ask if Snake knows 'Flute Player of Hameln'. Some of you might know this from Grim Fairy-Tale. As you guessed, Alie goes on with the fairytale about how 130 children disappeared at one night. And just when Teliko asks about how this relates to Snake, Alice said nothing. Suddently, the camera quickly switch to Snake as if something happened or came up to Snake. It seems he gets another headache. Now for the extremely interesting part, a mysterious voice speaks to Snake, but the odd part is: The voice calls Snake 'Hans Davis'. Could this name be the real name for Solid Snake? Let's play on and see. Alright, in this area, as I said earlier, you need to use Snake and Teliko to advance. Have one person go into the near room, take out the enemy and stand near the machine. That will open up the door of security A. Then within this room, stand in front the machine to open up security B door. Repeat this pattern with security A, B and C to make your way to the big room at north. Head up to the white marks on the 2nd level to advance to the next area. Same as previous area here, from security D to E then F. Here is the common problem here: When you got one character pass security F door, it seems there is no more F node around to open up the door for the second character. Here is what you do: There is actually a node JUST within the hall right after the security F door. You can easily see it if you adjust your camera a bit. Now continue to go east and step on the two white marks to the next area. You start from the top level, then slowly make your way down. The path is linear, so you can set up Claymore and lure the enemies to come. Especially when you are up there, the enemies can spot you easily. On the first level, make your way all the way to south. The SW room here has a ladder, take that. A scene will trigger, Teliko will stay behind to guard while Snake will advance. When Snake got in this room, the person here will tell Hans(refering Snake as Hans Davis again?) to go back. And what a surprise here: Garry turns out to be Doctor Fleming. He will further say Snake is called Hans Davis. Suddently, Snake gets another headache. Then a seemingly flashback take places with Fleming and Hans. Fleming will start explain everything to Solid Snake. Talking about how the current Solid Snake is really the Hans Davis of this lab, his invovement with the Pythagoras, BEAGLE corp's goal...etc After few scenes, Teliko will shoot the Pythagoras(Metal Gear Data) from him, then Fleming runs off. Afterward, you obtain the Card Level 2 from Teliko, and thus mission complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enter this stage again for more scenes. Snake and Teliko will inform Garry is actually William Fleming. Then Leone will show up, starting to talk about himself. He is used to be called Jeff Jones and now he is known as Leone. Looks like we will need to fight him. Snake wishes one to knock to lure him and one to attack from dead corners, and thus, time to fight your first real boss. As you can check, Leone has 1000 Life. This is gonna be a bit long than usual enemies. Leone can hit far away and throw grenades. Save up one or two ration in case he catches you. For close range, I would recommend the Nikita Missile. Not only it can do damage to him but also can set him on fire. When he's on fire, he loses HPs on turns. The rest is just hide and set Claymore then knock to get him to come. If you can time it right, go with Grenade. C4 here works here but the thing is, you need to shoot it to activate it so you need to be somewhat close. That means you are in risk. After the battle, Snake and Teliko will flee and quick taken into another set of battles. All the enemies in this place will start to run to you. Get Snake and Teliko into one of the two rooms that's near. You can then wait for them to come in one by one then eliminate them. If they don't come in, throw a grenade at the door to attract them in. If they are all line up close together, use the Nikita Missile. With that, you can probably set them all on fire. They all don't have much HPs, so they will die pretty much with that method. Once you kill them all, make your way to the west. Just open up the map with Triangle and check west of this room. You should see the a blue mark. Once either Teliko or Snake make it to that spot, you will be outside and another scenes. Looks like we are going to cross the bridge. Anyhow, mission complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back on the plane, another scene with Alice guiding Minet. Afterward, a scene with Vigo. Lena seems to be missing. At the intermission, you can buy Single card now. On to the next stage, we got new enemies here: Cypher. This area is not very big but got some amount of enemies. The two blue marks are to the most west. The chance of getting found here is pretty high but because this area is quite small, if you ever get found, rush to the west. There is a Stinger here as well, make sure you pick that up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back on the intermission, save your game and on to the next stage. Cross the bridge to north and half way through, a scene with Teliko shot you and cross the bridge. The bridge will quickly draws up. Turns out this female might not be the real Teliko. She then call herself 'Swallowtail Butterfly' again. What's worse that she has the Pythagoras. Now let's head toward the house. Another scene will trigger as the house blew up. Enemies will start to show up. There are four enemies here and a better way to kill them all is wait for them to get close to each other, throw a grenade and then shoot the grenade. After you've eliminated them all, then head to the blue mark to west for mission complete. This is another stage for easy S Rank. Because you have to kill all enemies and you won't be found cuz you automatically alert the enemies in this stage, so that just leave to Total Damage and Cost here. You can kill all with one or two grenade. Total Damage won't be much a factor here because you are bound to get some. Anyway, Roger will doubt if Snake is the real Snake since Garry is not Garry and Teliko is not exactly Teliko, hehe. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bring a mine detector and the Steath Camouflage. About half way, use the Steath Camouflage and get in the little house. In there, you can try your luck to get to the blue mark that's near. But you have to do it before you alert any enemy because if you alert any enemy, the gate will closed and you can't get to the blue mark. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Within, obtain the pack that's under the camera then take the door to north. Another scene takes place. This place divides into different areas. Each area will need to have the same colour of uniform. From where you start, go to the room to the left to obtain both the blue and red uniform. After, go to the room to the right to obtain the green uniform. Just beware the fact that there is a guard here. Once you got all three, head out this place. Thus, another mission complete. Once you are at the intermission, put the 3 uniforms into your deck. Alice also suggests C4, so put that in as well. Back in the Eblo Tower, in order avoid enemies, you will have to put on different colour uniform. Anyway, take the right room and there should be an area for you ro crouch through. The rest of the path is straight forward except you need to change uniform to avoid enemies. Of course, if you want to kill your way through, be my guest. When you arrived at the upper level, take the SW room. Get near the node here for another chat with Roger. There is a hidden path in this level and we need the C4 to blow out the path. It's a good thing that Alice tells about the C4 earlier. Anyway, the cracked wall is about NE of this level. Just press Triangle and you should find it without much problem. As you stepped into the hidden path, another message with Roger. He wishes to defeat Crown and get back the Pythagoras. Take couple more steps and mission complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Make sure you put in a Mine Detector. When you are ready, advance to back to Eblo Tower. After Snake gets off the elevator, go south to arrive at 'Dream Town'. Teliko will show up and it's time to duel her at this 'board game' like area. Teliko has about 800 HPs, less than the previous Leone. Each of these panels does different thing, like green one increase HIT, yellow one refresh your hand(cards), blue one increase your defense and red one increase your ATK. With Mine Detector, you should be able to avoid them and shoot them off to clear the path. Teliko will try to create more. A good strategy here is use the grenade then shoot combo to attack her. If there is a mine near her, shoot that mine to blow her up. When she's stun, get close to her or throw more grenade at her. After the battle, mission complete. As Snake and Teliko flee, the Dream Town will blow up. Snake demands her to return the disk. Surprisingly, she asks if she has it and ask who Snake is. Further more, she is surprised to hear from Roger. Alice dives into her heart and confirm that this is the real Teliko. To further prove herself, Teliko will start to talk about her father. Roger thinks her father committed suicide, but the truth is, Colin Friedman was actually murdered. Anyway, she will tell you that Fleming is about to activate Metal Gear, so we need to hurry up and cross the bridge to north. Hans will speak within Snake's mind. Alice and Roger seem to have noticed that. On the other hand, back on the plane, Minet found the bomb. Lena is back and Vigo asks where she went. She said she went back and check things out. Afterward, another silly commercial from the card shop. Chronicle Pack is now buyable. Snake's LIFE will increased up to 400 and Teliko's LIFE gone up to 300. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As you enter, you will need to get another weapon to take out the Cypher, so go back to the Armory(Stage 05). You will need to put Card Level 1 and 2 in your decks, as well as a Stealth Camouflage. As you head inside, a scene will take place. Looks like this place is well guarded. Then some unknown soldiers show up and killing Leone's soldiers. Afterward, make your way up to second floor. Now here is the senario: there is a sensor by the door of one room that contains the PSG-1. If you don't use the Sealth Camouflage, you'll be found. There are quite some backups on each floor, make sure you prepare for that. If don't mind getting found, you can take the north stairs on the first level to get closer to the rooms of the PSG-1 on the second level. The PSG-1 is the NE and NW rooms on the second floor. There are also Gun Camera here, watch out for those. If you took the S/SW stairs on the first floor, you will have to take at least one shot from them. Once you got the PSG-1, time to back track out of this place. Thus, another mission complete. Before they exit out, 'Buddy' will contact Snake. The soldiers from before are known as ACUA Soldier, that wish to wipe out Leone's soldiers. Anyhow, back to the Suspension Bridge. Beware of this area. There is not only Cypher around but there are also Claymore. DO NOT try to alert the enemies, otherwise, you are in for lots of enemies coming. But if you got lots of Missiles loaded, these guards with shield won't be much of a problem. Once you take down the Cypher, mission complete. Leone will show up with guards. Leone will explain how ACUA works: If one takes some ACUA, that one will lose control and only listen to the order of the neoteny, in another words, the ultimate slaves of weapons. A neoteny is known as the 'Controller of the Heart'. BEAGLE isn't about the 'Flute Player of Hameln', it was to have the final few selected from the 130 children contained into the warehouse, the ones that survive are known as the neoteny. This's 'Insect Poison Ceremony'. Anyway, Leone will come along with you to the Thermal Power Station. Back on the plane, Alice got Minet to cut the cords of the bombs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not a big area but you gotta walk your way around to get to the blue marks at north. Take care of the enemy near you first with Snake. Teliko can stop anyone coming in case you alert any enemy. There is also a Stinger at this place, make sure you pick that up. If you ever alert the enemies, make sure you just blast your way through with Missiles, Grenade and shoot combo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, your destination is to the most east and there are 3 blue marks. That means there is going to be another playable character? The enemies are the same ones from the Suspension Bridge(if you alert the enemies there). There are quite some objects for you to take cover here, so let's just try to remain stealth. Each house here also got packs to collect and you can also use them to lure enemies in then kill them. Afterward, Leone will codec in and give you one advice: Bring the Nikita or RemoCon Missile. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are going to the control room and cut the power. Leone will input the password at Before FAR. Anyway, press Triangle and check things out. The white marks are at the end of the path, and there are lots of enemies on the way. I prefer blasting my way through from the top. The grenade and shoot combo works well when the enemies are close. On the next area, much bigger and you need to make your way to the white marks on the upper level. Enemies can probably spot you and come to confirm. Just sit back and prepare them to come. Do bot use anything that can create loud noise though. If anything should fail, throw in a Chaff Grenade to disable them to call for help. Next area, straight path but with 4 enemies in front of you and couple more near the end of the path. Might as well grenade the four in front of you and rush your way up to north. At the next area, there are electric floors, you will need the RemoCon Missile or the Nikita Missile. Take care of the enemies first, without making a scene though. Because there are quite some backups. After you took care the enemies, stand at north, before the electric floor, shoot out a missile. The power unit is at the NW corner. After you took the power unit out, run through the electric floor and follow it to the area at west. There is an open spot here where you can shoot a missile through. After you took down the second power unit, make your way to the white marks. Next area, another straight path. Take out the robot with grenade and use the barrels to blow up the enemies. At the final area, two doors, one for each character. The rest of the path just co-work with two characters. The enemies will spot you easily and will call for help. Make sure you take care of them ASAP. If anything fails, continue along. There isn't much harm of getting found in this place. As you got to the door of the control room, mission complete. Snake will shut down the power. The ACUA soldiers will surround Leone as Fleming shows up. The password has been changed hence Leone wasn't able to enter. Afterward, Leone will inform that he has failed and been captured. Back on the intermission, select Thermal Power Station again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You are to get out of this place, through the darkness. It's just the same way you came in here, but reversed. There are still enemies, even though you won't see them til they are within distant. Next area, I'll say shoot the barrels and rush down the path. For the area with the electric floors previously, this is a bit tricky. Since there is sensor onthe path, so you will alert the enemies. Just prepare one or two grenade and use them just around the corner where you will meet the guards. Within alert, there are lots of guards, make sure you're prepared. On to the next area, same old method, blast your way through. For the next area, a scene will take place. Your objective here is to kill all enemies. Don't bother advancing and going after the enemies, just set traps and wait for them to come. If you got extra grenade, throw some out near enemies. Once you have killed them all, mission complete. We are heading to FAR next. On the other hand, another scene with Vigo and Lena on the airplane. And yet another silly commercial from the card shop. MGS3 Pack is now buyable. Your DECK limit is now 40. Snake's LIFE will increased up to 500 and 400 for Teliko. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This place is well guarded, let's be extra stealth here. If you are going to take out someone, make sure you are sure you can take the enemy out within a turn or so. Without alerting any backups, there should just be 4 guards to take care of. After you took them out, it's search time, for the sewer. The manhole is at the 4th spot from the west. If you can't find it, just have Snake walk around the that column(4th from the left). If you still can't find it, try this map: ---H--- -----C- ---C--- ======= ---J-J- Remember, this map is for the west section of this place. H is the manhole, C is crate and J is Jeep. The '=' mark represents the paved main road. Once one character finds the manhole, get the other character to get near the manhole. Thus, mission complete. After Teliko descends down, Hans talks to Snake within again, then 'Buddy' codec in shortly after and another mysterious person cut in right after. After Snake and Teliko descend, yet another scene with Teliko and Roger. Shortly after, back to Vigo and Lena on the plane. Vigo questions Lena and Minet made it to the final cord of the bomb then couple more scenes after. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alice will codec Teliko and tell her that Hans Davis is actually the Another Personality of Solid Snake. Before Hans takes over Snake completely, Teliko will need to kill Snake. Anyway, let hurry to the Underground Hangar where the Metal Gear is. In this area, make sure you got some Missiles, PSG-1 or Stinger. You should see another electric floor here. Take care of the surrounding camera and robot, then use a PSG-1 or Stinger to take out the camera at the end of the electric floor. After all that's done, shoot a missile down. Now, press the Triangle to see what's ahead to north. Memorize the path for the missile, make sure the missile goes through the crouching spot under the north camera. Do not mess around with the missile, otherwise you will run out of fuel. By the time your missile makes it near the power unit, it should have around 6 or 7 fuel. Now go north after you took out the power unit. See the spot of the Pack/Item? Stand there and take care the camera that's on the opposite side/left. Now take care of the camera that's at north. Climb up the ladder and get near the door control unit. Once it's unlocked, make your way ALL the way to south where the white marks are. In the next area, the north and left paths are both blocked by cracked walls. If you don't want to make a mess, go right. By slow down a bit, because there is a camera in the next room. You should just take ONE step after the door and shoot the camera down from there. Continue on with the path and within the room where you are go north or west, take the north door to go on. The west door has another Pack but guarded by a camera and 2 guards. If you want that pack, just try to not to alert the enemies and just lure them out one by one then kill them. Continue on, after you get to the north door, take ONE step and shoot the camera that's near. The left room has packs and the blue marks are just a bit north. Thus, mission complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leone and ACUA soldiers will surround you. It seems Leone has been injected with ACUA. Anyway, it's time to fight Leone again, but with ACUA soldiers on the battle. Your objective is defeat Leone, but it's not that easy. There are 3 soldiers at north and 1 more down at south. Ok, start by running from Leone. Your main focus should be the guards first. Snake and Teliko can gang up on Leone later, just like the last fight. If there are soldiers near Leone, even better, you can missile or grenade them at the same time. Same as the last fight, the 'Jehuty' card works well to get rid of all Leone's equipment(and everyone else including you). Once it's down to Leone, it's all easy. Use all kinds of heavy explosives, such as C3 and C4. Grenade and shoot combo works. If you ran out of grenade, lure him to near a barrel and then shoot the barrel. The Nikita and RemoCon Missile work well here as well as they could set him on fire. After the battle, mission complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The exit is by south, and there are about 4 enemies in this place. There is a pack here at NW corner, don't forget to pick that up. It should be a MGS3 Pack. You make it this far, this place isn't all that difficult. Although the enemies can probably spot you and call for you, but just make sure you can take them out ASAP and with as little noise as possible. If you got PSG-1, that works as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another Teliko will show up and mix up with the real one. Obviously, the other one is Crown. Then battle time. It's really easy to figure out which one: Boss character has high LIFE, and Teliko only got 400. That means, the Teliko with 800 LIFE is Crown. Once you know which one, fix your eyes on that 'Teliko'. Shortly after, Crown will keep using Flash Grenade to confuse you. However, that isn't a problem since we already know which one is fake and which one is real by the LIFE. Just make sure you memorize that. If you could set her on fire, that's even better. After you kill her, mission complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just so you know, this is the last stage of the game, make sure you are prepare with your best deck. As you might have figured it out already, your enemy is a Metal Gear. Snake will handle Metal Gear, and Teliko will handle robots. Hence adjust Snake's deck with heavy damaging cards like Stinger. Teliko could have the usual cards you like, but just make sure put in nothing that doesn't work against machines. Metal Gear can only attack with 8 missiles and the 8 spots that the missles going to attack are indicated as red on the field. Sometimes, it attacks with a laser. But we will distant from Metal Gear so that's avoided mostly. Make sure Snake isn't on or near a red spot when Metal Gear tries to shoot out the missiles. As for Teliko, just robot one after another. However, there are also 2 PCs on both sides. You need to get them too. You can also put Chaff Grenade into your deck, something that works very well on electronics but could also screw up your missile related weapons. To take down Metal Gear, you need to use Stinger from a distant to take out both of its arms. Other weapon that can work is Sniper Rifle, such as the PSG-1. After you took care of both arms, a little scene and the fight continues. This time, prepare some Stinger and get in range. Once Metal Gear changes to tank mode, start shooting it. You can't let it fire that laser. As for Teliko, she has 4 more targets to work on. Throw a Chaff Grenade and forget about the robot. Yours focus are the 4 poles that just appeared when Metal Gear changes into the tank mode. If Metal Gear manages to fire that laser, it will cause about 300 damage to Snake. If Snake doesn't survive this, it's Game Over. Another way to avoid the laser move is, move Snake to the upper left or right of Metal Gear. But that's very difficult unless you are close to it all the time. Make sure you save up healing cards as well. Teliko could also heal Snake. This just all come down to Stinger and healing cards. I recommend Snake only have 30 cards. As for Teliko, stack up lots of healing cards that heal the ally(hence Snake) and support cards that reduce ally's cost. After you took down Metal Gear's 1000 LIFE, you have beaten the game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Is this game real time?
