Yu Yu Hakusho Forever Practice mode

Successfully complete all Training mode tasks. This mode is accessible by entering the “Extra mode” from the main menu; the “Extra mode” is the third option on the main menu. Once inside, choose the second option below the “Training mode”.

Survival mode

Successfully complete the Ankoku Bujutsukai Saga (The Black Martial Arts Tournament) in Story mode. This mode is located below the Practice mode option.

Build-Up mode

Successfully complete the Ankoku Bujutsukai Saga (The Black Martial Arts Tournament) in Story mode. This mode is located below the Survival mode option.

Custom mode

Successfully complete the Ankoku Bujutsukai Saga (The Black Martial Arts Tournament) in Story mode. This mode uses the character which has been strengthened through Build-Up and Survival modes.

Makai saga in Story mode

Defeat Shinobu Sensui in Survival mode to unlock the three remaining Story mode options. This covers up for the Makai saga parts for Yusuke, Kurama, and Hiei.

Ankoku Bujutsukai (The Black Martial Arts Tournament) second arena (championship)

Successfully complete the Ankoku Bujutsukai Saga (The Black Martial Arts Tournament) in Story mode.

Master Genkai’s Death stage

Successfully complete Special Episode 2 of the Ankoku Bujutsukai Saga (The Black Martial Arts Tournament) in Story mode.

Makai Forest stage

Successfully complete Episode 1 of the Makai saga for Yusuke or Hiei in Story mode.

Makai Tournament Arena (championship)

Successfully complete the Makai Saga for Yusuke, Kurama, or Hiei in Story mode.

Shinobu Sensui’s stage

Defeat Shinobu Sensui in Survival mode.

Yusuke Urameshi’s Trial stage

Successfully complete Special Episode 1 of the Ankoku Bujutsukai saga (The Black Martial Arts Tournament) in Story mode.

Play as Bui

Successfully complete Episode 5 of the Ankoku Bujutsukai Saga (The Black Martial Arts Tournament) in Story mode.

Play as Chuu

Successfully complete Episode 1 of the Ankoku Bujutsukai Saga (The Black Martial Arts Tournament) in Story mode.

Play as Enki

Successfully complete Episode 4 of the Makai saga for Yusuke; or Episode 3 of the Makai saga for Kurama or Hiei in Story mode. Alternately, lose on the episode before the match with Enki.
