XBOX PREVIEW: SPYHUNTER: NOWHERE TO RUN

Whether you know this or not, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is one of the finest actors of our time. Let me explain...have you ever seen those so called real "actors" try and fake their way through a night of SNL? Most of them are pure crap! The Rock kicked most of their asses in terms of acting, delivery and comic timing each time he appeared on SNL and it only stands to reason why he would. Wrestling is nothing if it's not about acting, delivery and timing. So where am I going with this? Well, The Rock will be appearing in the upcoming movie adaptation of Midway's "SpyHunter: Nowhere To Run" slated for a later 2006 release. He'll also be appearing in the game of the same name.

SpyHunter the video game has most likely been around much longer than you, dear reader. It debuted in arcades in 1983 courtesy of Midway/Bally and was an instant hit for years thanks to its addicting gameplay and catchy Peter Gunn music. After many years lying dormant, Midway resurrected the series in 2001 and gave it a complete 3D makeover for the GameCube, Xbox and PS2. In 2003 another sequel was released, imaginatively titled SpyHunter 2.

Where this 3rd SpyHunter goes where no SpyHunter has gone before, is in it's use of legs. More accurately the polygonal legs of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Johnson plays Alex Decker who can get out of The Interceptor (the car) and kick bad guy butt with his intense melee combat moves.

In Nowhere to Run, the evil NOSTRA organization returns, this time with a plan to steal the latest government technology including the world’s most sophisticated spy vehicle, the Interceptor, and it’s up to Alex to stop them.

We promise to have more coverage of this title in the upcoming months. Stay tuned.
