In case you're wondering how good this game looks, I have to say you shouldn't be disappointed. Tetris Evolution is a next-generation Tetris game that looks almost as good as it gets. The bright, colorful pieces are easy to distinguish. The different themes, skins, and backgrounds are imaginative, although there aren't too many of them. The backgrounds look especially interesting. I enjoyed the rotating planet and lightning backgrounds; they look sharp and real. My only complaint would be that the next tetrimino that is going to come on the screen is shown at a much reduced size above the matrix, surrounded at the same time by other graphic elements that make it difficult to see.

The music that accompanies this game is pretty good but not great. It really depends on your taste. I found that most of the music that is played in the background has an alternative / techno beat to it; in my opinion, this music belongs to a disco more than to a game like this, even though it contributes to the game's fast-paced gameplay. THQ put the same kind of music on Tetris Worlds and it didn't conquer my heart either, but I can't say it's bad. The sound effects are solid and good, never annoying. They remind me of the smooth Xbox 360 Dashboard sound effects, when you switch between pages and menu items.
Definitely get this game if you love Tetris and want to embark in the world of online multiplayer battles. If you just plan to play it offline by yourself or with friends, then the look of it is the only reason to get the game, as it's a bit more polished than the older Tetris Worlds and it supports high definition, in addition to the fact that you can select different avatars and themes that weren't there in previous versions. However, if you already own Tetris Worlds or even any other Tetris game, you don't have an HD TV, and you were just looking for innovation, you might as well save the $30 and get a different puzzle game instead that offers you a different kind of gameplay. Tetris Evolution is good, but not remarkable.
