EX stages
Collect all of the Sun Stones in an area of the world map to unlock its EX stage.
Dedede Tour! mode
Successfully complete Story mode by completing Royal Road: Stage 6 and defeating the final Boss to unlock Dedede Tour! mode. This mode allows you to play as King Dedede in Time Attack battles against mini-Bosses.
The Arena mode
Successfully complete Story mode by completing Royal Road: Stage 6 and defeating the final Boss to unlock The Arena mode. This mode features a series of battles against the mini-Bosses from Story mode.
True Arena mode
Successfully complete Dedede Tour! mode to unlock True Arena mode. This mode features battles against DX versions of Bosses.
Copy Ability Testing Room
Successfully complete Story mode by completing Royal Road: Stage 6 and defeating the final Boss. Start Story mode again after the credits, and a message will appear saying the Copy Ability Testing Room is now available. Move near “Fine Fields” on the World Map, then press Down to enter the Copy Ability Testing Room. This area has rooms with all of the Copy Abilities and a metal Waddle Dee and some small Star Blocks for practice.
HAL Testing Room
Defeat the Gigant Edge mini-Boss in Royal Road: Stage 1-1. Then, go to the far right, and fly up to find a path made of stars. Follow it until it ends, then look up to see a crescent moon. Fly up to the moon, and press Up to enter its opening. This area is a secret testing room that has the HAL logo made from blocks, an enemy, and several ability options. Destroying the blocks will reward you with extra lives.
Distant Traveler level
Get gold medals in all three levels in Dedede’s Drum Dash to unlock the Distant Traveler level.
Keychain ranks
Collect the indicated number of Keychains to obtain the corresponding rank on that saved game:
- Dream Land Bandit: 100 Keychains
- Fair-Weather Collector: 25 Keychains
- Keychain Hunter: 50 Keychains
- Keychain Master: 256 Keychains
- Kirby Maniac: 150 Keychains
- Legendary Collector: 200 Keychains
- Superstar Collector: 250 Keychains
Queen Sectonia Keychain
Collect all 100 Sun Stones in the regular and extra levels to unlock the Queen Sectonia Keychain.
Jukebox option
Successfully complete Dedede Tour! mode to unlock the “Jukebox” option at the main menu.
Alternate title screen
Successfully complete Story mode by completing Royal Road: Stage 6 and defeating the final Boss. After the credits end, the Dreamstalk on the title screen will have pink flowers. Successfully complete Dededetour to unlock King Dedede at the title screen. Successfully complete the game with a 100% completion to show Kirby running up along the Dreamstalk with the Hyper Nova power.
30 lives in “Goal Game”
Get 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 (in order) in a single run to hear a retro version of the Kirby Dance song and have the UFO drop 30 extra lives with the message “SPECIAL BONUS 30UP”.
Defeating the first form of Soul Of Sectonia
The Soul Of Sectonia in her form that is attached to the Dreamstalk typically pauses after every attack. To easily (but slowly) defeat her, use the Stone ability. During the brief pauses when Sectonia does not attack, use Heavy Smash near the small flowers with eyes. After you fall to the ground, stay in stone form and wait for Sectonia to finish attacking, then repeat the Heavy Smash on the flowers. Note: Do not try to attack her while she is attacking or else you could lose a life.
