12 PlayStation Classics That Deserve a Full Remake

Recent PlayStation remakes have shown how much life is still left in older games when they are rebuilt with modern hardware in mind. From improved visuals and smoother controls to expanded worlds and updated combat, the best remakes do more than polish a classic. They make it easier for a new generation of players to understand why the original mattered in the first place.

Sony’s back catalog still has plenty of games that deserve that treatment. While titles like Final Fantasy VII, Resident Evil 2, Demon’s Souls, and Shadow of the Colossus have already been successfully reimagined, many PS1 and PS2-era classics remain untouched. Some were genre standouts, others built loyal cult followings, and a few helped define what PlayStation meant in its early years. These are the PlayStation classics that deserve a full remake next.
