The Humble Store Spring Sale has just recently started over at Humble Bundle, and it's perhaps one of the best collections of deals that a Humble Store sale has had in quite some time. Along with a slew of noteworthy AAA titles from the last several years, several older games, collections, indie titles, and hidden gems are being highlighted as part of the Spring Sale, so many that there's no way to include all of them on a single list. Outside the deals we're shining a spotlight on here, there are plenty of hits from both Capcom and Atlus currently on sale, as well as a wide variety of some of the best shmups available on PC at their lowest ever prices.
Red Dead Redemption II
- Release Date — December 5, 2019
- Developer — Rockstar Games
- Publisher — Rockstar Games
- Genre — Action, Open-World
- Steam User Score — 92% (Very Positive)
- Price — $14.99 (Normally $59.99, 75% off)
Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption II is one of the many now-legendary titles that regularly gets brought up when throwing around the word "masterpiece", and it's no secret why. In addition to having one of the all-time greatest story mode campaigns of any Rockstar-developed game, Red Dead Redemption II looks phenomenal and lets players tap into the feeling of exploring the American frontier in the dying days of the Wild West. Red Dead Redemption II goes on sale pretty regularly, but it's currently down to its lowest-ever price on Humble Bundle for $14.99.
Hogwarts Legacy
- Release Date — February 10, 2023
- Developer — Avalanche Software
- Publisher — Warner Bros. Games
- Genre — Action-Adventure, Open-World
- Steam User Score — 90% (Very Positive)
- Price — $14.99 (Normally $59.99, 75% off)
Hogwarts Legacy is the kind of open-world action RPG that Harry Potter fans have been dreaming of for years, and it almost perfectly captures the spirit of the books and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Its combat might get a little stale after a while, but getting to step into the shoes of a young wizard and experience the Wizarding World from a time well before the events of the Harry Potter books is something worthwhile for any fan of open-world games, regardless of your affinity for the character. And at 75% off, you can check out the all-time greatest Harry Potter game for significantly less than its normal asking price.
Hollow Knight
- Release Date — February 24, 2017
- Developer — Team Cherry
- Publisher — Team Cherry
- Genre — Metroidvania, Soulslike
- Steam User Score — 97% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $7.49 (Normally $14.99, 50% off)
Is Hollow Knight the best Metroidvania of all time? Debatable. That said, what it is is an incredibly well-put-together game that oozes production quality befitting a AAA title, and it comes to us from a primarily two-person development team. We ultimately have Hollow Knight to thank for the ongoing Metroidvania renaissance, which is ironic considering very few games have come close to matching its quality. Hollow Knight is worth picking up at full price (and is honestly worth more than Team Cherry asks for it), so grabbing it while it's 50% off is a no-brainer.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition
- Release Date — February 3, 2022
- Developer — Techland
- Publisher — Techland
- Genre — Action, Open-World
- Steam User Score — 79% (Mostly Positive)
- Price — $19.79 (Normally $59.99, 67% off)
The original Dying Light was a game that felt so incredibly ahead of its time, and Dying Light 2 refines its best aspects while also doing enough unique things to stand out as a worthwhile sequel. While it's not quite as groundbreaking as its predecessor was at the time of its release, Dying Light 2 is still an incredibly fun first-person open-world zombie game with some of the best combat and traversal, and being able to grab the "complete" edition of the title for less than $20 is an absolute steal.
Dead Cells: Road to the Sea Bundle
- Release Date — August 6, 2018
- Developer — Motion Twin
- Publisher — Motion Twin
- Genre — Roguelike, Metroidvania
- Steam User Score — 97% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $16.49 (Normally $32.99, 50% off)
Motion Twin's Dead Cells undoubtedly belongs in the action roguelike Hall of Fame right next to greats like Hades and Cult of the Lamb, and you can currently grab the base game and all of its DLC save for the Castlevania crossover for $16. Of course, the Castlevania DLC is 100% worth grabbing if you're a fan of either Dead Cells or Konami's classic franchise, but the Road to the Sea bundle for Dead Cells will keep you busy long enough to mull over that decision properly.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate
- Release Date — November 6, 2024
- Developer — Super Evil Megacorp
- Publisher — Super Evil Megacorp
- Genre — Action Roguelike
- Steam User Score — 81% (Very Positive)
- Price — $14.99 (Normally $29.99, 50% off)
Out of the many games that have closely followed in Hades' footsteps, one of the best is surprisingly the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action roguelike Splintered Fate. While the core gameplay loop will be familiar to anyone who's played Hades or similar games, Splintered Fate sets itself apart thanks to its emphasis on co-op, and few roguelikes can match the satisfaction of getting four players controlling each of the Heroes in a Half-Shell at once. Splintered Fate also hasn't even been out for a year yet, which makes its current 50% off deal that much sweeter.
Marvel's Midnight Suns: Legendary Edition
- Release Date — December 2, 2022
- Developer — Firaxis Games
- Publisher — 2K
- Genre — Turn-Based Tactics, Deckbuilder
- Steam User Score — 82% (Very Positive)
- Price — $19.99 (Normally $99.99, 80% off)
A lot of players went into Marvel's Midnight Suns expecting it to be "XCOM 2, but with Marvel characters", but that's doing Midnight Suns a disservice. To be fair, there are elements of Firaxis' XCOM games present in Midnight Suns' gameplay, but its emphasis on deckbuilding and momentum gives each encounter a unique feel that's much faster paced and more visceral than XCOM: Enemy Within or XCOM 2. If you can look past the ham-fisted social sim elements in between battles, Midnight Suns is a must-play for any turn-based tactics fan.
Songs of Conquest
- Release Date — May 20, 2024
- Developer — Lavapotion
- Publisher — Coffee Stain Publishing
- Genre — Turn-Based Tactics, 4X Strategy
- Steam User Score — 86% (Very Positive)
- Price — $9.79 (Normally $34.99, 72% off)
If you're someone who's got fond memories of Heroes of Might and Magic III, then boy, is Songs of Conquest a game for you. An intoxicating blend of strategy kingdom management with turn-based tactical battling, Songs of Conquest wears its HoMM III inspirations loud and proud for the world to see, but it also brings with it a lot of the modern quality-of-life flourishes players are accustomed to these days. Normally, Songs of Conquest is $35, making it a bit of a steep plunge to take on an unknown property, but its current $10 price point on the Humble Store Sale is too good to pass up.
Trepang ²
- Release Date — June 21, 2023
- Developer — Trepang Studios
- Publisher — Team17
- Genre — FPS
- Steam User Score — 93% (Very Positive)
- Price — $14.99 (Normally $29.99, 50% off)
Interestingly enough, the excellent F.E.A.R. series of horror-tinged FPS titles is currently on sale at Humble, but I'd recommend going for its spiritual successor instead. Trepang ² is basically F.E.A.R. 4 in all but name, and it's every bit as chaotic, violent, and terrifying as you'd expect from a current-gen shooter that uses the original F.E.A.R. trilogy as its primary inspiration. Trepang goes on sale fairly frequently and is back down to its lowest-ever price on the Humble Store, making it the perfect time to give this dark and tense shooter a shot.
The Riftbreaker
- Release Date — October 14, 2021
- Developer — EXOR Studios
- Publisher — EXOR Studios, Surfire Games
- Genre — ARPG, Tower Defense
- Steam User Score — 90% (Very Positive)
- Price — $16.49 (Normally $29.99, 45% off)
EXOR Studios' The Riftbreaker is a compelling mix of strategy, tower defense, and ARPG-style hack-and-slash that is incredibly easy to get into and just as hard to put down. As part of the ongoing deals in the Humble Store Spring Sale, the base game of Riftbreaker is down to less than $17 from its normal $30 asking price, but it's honestly worth picking up the Complete Edition if it sounds like a game you'll gel with. The Complete version of Riftbreaker contains the base game and 4 sizeable DLC expansions that flesh out the experience and provide a ton of new content to dig into that changes up the game's meta.
Sniper Elite 5: Deluxe Edition
- Release Date — May 25, 2022
- Developer — Rebellion
- Publisher — Rebellion
- Genre — Action, Stealth, Shooter
- Steam User Score — 83% (Very Positive)
- Price — $23.99 (Normally $79.99, 70% off)
Rebellion's Sniper Elite games are like video game comfort food: they might not be the fanciest or most refined thing in the world, but you always know what you're getting into with them, which is almost always a good time. Sniper Elite 5 is the most recent mainline entry in the series (followed up by this year's excellent Sniper Elite: Resistance), and it offers up one of the best selections of stealth action sandboxes the series has seen yet. For just $24, you can get both the base game and all of the additional add-ons courtesy of the Deluxe Edition.
Persona 4 Golden
- Release Date — June 13, 2020
- Developer — Atlus
- Publisher — Sega
- Genre — JRPG
- Steam User Score — 97% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $9.99 (Normally $19.99, 50% off)
While most outlets seem dead set on proclaiming Persona 5 as both the best game in the Persona series and one of the all-time greatest JRPGs ever made, most longtime fans know differently. As much as I love Persona 5 (and, believe me, I do), Persona 4 is arguably still the gold standard of the franchise and a perfect encapsulation of what makes the Persona series so special. Persona 5 might have slicker visuals, UI, and gameplay, but the characters, setting, and story of Persona 4 are pure magic. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better JRPG that you could pick up for just $10.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience
- Release Date — September 1, 2015
- Developer — Konami
- Publisher — Konami
- Genre — Action, Stealth
- Steam User Score — 91% (Very Positive)
- Price — $17.99 (Normally $29.99, 40% off)
While there's a very strong case to be made for Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater being the best game in the Metal Gear Solid franchise, it's hard to argue against Metal Gear Solid V representing the series at its technical and mechanical apex. Between both the Ground Zeroes prologue and the main Phantom Pain campaign, Metal Gear Solid V delivers one of the most refined stealth action experiences while also representing series' creator Hideo Kojima's final turn at the helm, and getting them both together in a single package is a deal too good for stealth fans to pass up.
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition
- Release Date — April 7, 2017
- Developer — People Can Fly
- Publisher — Gearbox Publishing
- Genre — FPS
- Steam User Score — 88% (Very Positive)
- Price — $3.99 (Normally $39.99, 90% off)
I recently wrote about Bulletstorm being one of the best shooters on the Xbox 360, and its more modern remaster fares no differently. Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition takes the over-the-top arcade-style shooter that the game has always been and presents it in a new light with some impressive visuals and even a selection of new content to celebrate the occasion. There are lots of great first-person shooters included in the ongoing Humble Store deals, but Bulletstorm is perhaps the most fun you can have for less than $5.
Batman: Arkham Collection
- Release Date — November 28, 2018
- Developer — Rocksteady Studios
- Publisher — Warner Bros. Games
- Genre — Action, Open-World
- Steam User Score — 95% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $8.99 (Normally $59.99, 85% off)
Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham trilogy practically redefined the modern superhero game, and you can currently grab all three titles as part of a single collection for less than $10. Arkham Asylum is surprisingly more akin to a survival horror game than its two sequels, which greatly expand proceedings into an open world that faithfully recreates the grim, crime-ridden metropolis that is Gotham City. It's honestly amazing how well all three of these titles still hold up in a modern context, and they're essential purchases for anyone who's even remotely a fan of the Caped Crusader.
Resident Evil 2
- Release Date — January 25, 2019
- Developer — Capcom
- Publisher — Capcom
- Genre — Survival Horror
- Steam User Score — 96% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $9.99 (Normally $39.99, 75% off)
At this point, each one of the Resident Evil remakes is a game that stands toe-to-toe with its original counterpart and, in many ways, surpasses it, but none do it quite like Resident Evil 2. Almost 2 decades in the making, rumors of a Resident Evil 2 remake had circled the drain since the release of the Resident Evil remake on GameCube, so seeing it finally come to fruition was practically a dream come true for longtime fans of the original. It just so happens that Resident Evil 2's pitch-perfect homage to the original and strong lean back into horror has paved the way for a successful chain of Resident Evil remakes that see the series entering a new golden age.
Castlevania Advance Collection
- Release Date — September 23, 2021
- Developer — Konami
- Publisher — Konami
- Genre — Metroidvania
- Steam User Score — 91% (Very Positive)
- Price — $10.99 (Normally $19.99, 45% off)
Back when the three Game Boy Advance-era Castlevania games were new, we paid $30 a piece for each of them. So to get three of the best Metroidvanias ever made in a single package for just $11 feels like highway robbery. Despite Circle of the Moon not *technically* being an "Igavania", both Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow most definitely are, and Aria of Sorrow alone is worth the Castlevania Advance Collection's current asking price as the true follow-up to the now-legendary Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
Robocop: Rogue City
- Release Date — November 2, 2023
- Developer — Teyon
- Publisher — Nacon
- Genre — FPS
- Steam User Score — 87% (Very Positive)
- Price — $9.99 (Normally $49.99, 80% off)
While it could've been all too easy to make a RoboCop game that benefited from the license to churn out some sub-par schlock, Teyon instead chose to pour its heart and soul into making a title that's both the best video game adaptation of the '80s action icon and a legitimately incredible first-person shooter. RoboCop: Rogue City perfectly taps into both the power fantasy of playing as a robotic police officer and the inherent satire of corporate America that was a recurring thread in the first two films, and it does so while injecting a surprising amount of RPG and immersive sim elements. At just $10, you can hardly go wrong with giving this excellent homage to RoboCop a shot, especially with its The Raid-inspired DLC arriving in just two months.
South Park: The Stick of Truth
- Release Date — March 3, 2014
- Developer — Obsidian Entertainment
- Publisher — Ubisoft
- Genre — RPG
- Steam User Score — 97% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $7.49 (Normally $29.99, 75% off)
Both before and since South Park: The Stick of Truth, no games based on Matt Stone and Trey Parker's iconic animated series have come close to capturing the magic of the show, and none have even been within the same ballpark of the strength of its gameplay. While The Fractured But Whole is a decent enough TRPG that follows in The Stick of Truth's footsteps, The Stick of Truth is such a finely-tuned and satisfying old-school RPG that it would be a blast to play even without its use of the South Park license. With Obsidian Entertainment at the helm, it honestly should've never been a surprise.
Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak
- Release Date — January 12, 2022
- Developer — Capcom
- Publisher — Capcom
- Genre — Action RPG
- Steam User Score — 83% (Very Positive)
- Price — $14.99 (Normally $59.99, 75% off)
The Monster Hunter series just seems to keep getting better and better throughout the years, and Monster Hunter Rise is a commendable follow-up to Monster Hunter World that has one of the franchise's best settings and rosters of huntable monsters. So to get both it and its incredible Sunbreak expansion for just $15, you're essentially signing yourself up for more than 200 hours of some of the best gameplay the franchise has to offer. Monster Hunter Wilds may be all the rage right now thanks to its more recent release, but the Rise and Sunbreak combo is just as good and a fraction of the cost.
