500GB and 1TB Xbox One S Bundles Coming August 23

500GB and 1TB Xbox One S Bundles Coming August 23

After securing an “amazing” number of pre-orders for the more expensive 2TB Xbox One S, Microsoft has finally revealed the release date for the 500GB and 1TB models. The latter consoles can be had only three weeks later on August 23, and consumers have a few different bundles to choose from. Budget-conscious gamers, especially those who prefer physical media, will want to opt for the 500GB model for $300. Microsoft claims it will ship with “five Halo games.” What that actually means is you’ll get Halo 5: Guardians and Halo: The Master Chief Collection . I guess, technically, that works out to five Halo games.

With the 1TB model you have a couple options. The Halo bundle is available for the 1TB console as well, or you can choose Madden NFL 17 instead. Either way it’ll cost you $350. It’s worth noting (via VentureBeat ) that the Madden 17 bundle will only be available in the U.S. and Canada, while the Halo bundle for both the 1TB and 500GB models will be available in Australia and New Zealand as well. In the U.S., the 1TB Halo bundle will be limited to “select Microsoft stores.”

The Xbox One S is 40% smaller than the original Xbox One, and is capable of outputting 4K and HDR video. The new consoles also come bundled with the new Xbox One controller which features a textured grip, increased range, and Bluetooth capabilities.
