Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War is a prequel to most of the other entries in the series that was released in Japan in 2006. Similar to the other entries in the Ace Combat franchise, Zero is more of an arcade-like title. This makes it a bit more accessible when compared to other flight simulators. Its mechanics and gameplay are a mix of Ace Combat 4 and 5 with a new mechanic that changes how the in-game world views the player alongside their progression. You can read our review here!

Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War Premise
Players can enjoy a single-player campaign and a two-player versus mode. Fans will find themself piloting older aircraft but this title allows for aircraft customization similar to Ace Combat 4. What really sets Zero apart from its predecessors is its Ace Style system. Depending on how players play throughout the single-player campaign their Ace Style will change accordingly. This mechanic will change the enemy aces the players interact with and which FMV cutscenes play. Ace Style adds tons of replayability.

Secrets
Mobius 1 dogfight
In the Gauntlet mission, defeat the fourth squadron, Espada, in less than a minute for there to be an extra aircraft in the next fight, Mobius 1. Mobius will immediately shoot down all the other aircraft with a barrage of missiles (unless you manage to destroy them first). You will then have a one-on-one dogfight with Mobius. He will fire a barrage of missiles in your direction from any angle. Note: This only works on the Ace difficulty setting.
Fly as Mobius 1, Yellow 13, or Razgriz
The soldier paint scheme for the F/A-22A Raptor is Mobius 1’s from Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies, including the I.S.A.F Ribbon insignia on the tail. The mercenary scheme for the Su-37 Terminator is Yellow 13’s colors from Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies. It even changes the aircraft number from 032 to 013. The soldier scheme for the F-14D Super Tomcat is Razgriz’s from Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, also including an insignia change to match.
Destroying the XB-O
To destroy the XB-O (super bomber) faster, use a plane that can support a FAEB (fuel-air explosive bomb) such as the Su-37 Terminator. Fly close over the XB-O, fire the FAEB, and pull up. Repeat this until you must destroy the Espadas. Then, fire two missiles into the front of the XB-O. Note: You cannot destroy the super ship until you destroy the Espadas.
