Alien: Isolation’s New Add-on Brings a New Challenge

Alien: Isolation’s New Add-on Brings a New Challenge

Alien: Isolation’s publisher, SEGA, announced on Tuesday, January 13 a new Survival Mode challenge for the game, which is the third of five expected add-ons. Titled Safe Haven , is now available to download, and includes the new Salvage challenge and a new playable character.

In Safe Haven , players don the role of Hughes, the communications manager of Sevastopol Station (the location where Alien: Isolation is set). In order to survive, Hughes must complete 10 separate tasks provided to him via a communications terminal, with the end goal being to fully restore the station’s communications and escape. For each of these 10 tasks, players will need to be stealthy and smart when trying to avoid an engagement with the stations most resilient enemies.

In Survivor Mode, players only have one life to run with, and with each challenge that’s accepted in this game mode brings a new objective and a new enemy. Completing these challenges earns players points and rewards, such as new collectable and craftable items. Not spending the points earned means players’ final scores aren’t deducted. However, points can be traded for a save slot, but at the expense of their position on Alien: Isolation’s leaderboards.

The game’s first add-on pack, Corporate Lockdown , added three new maps to Survival Mode, which is said to offer a new perspective on the events aboard Sevastopol Station in the days before what took place in the game itself. Like Safe Haven , Corporate Lockdown also introduced new a game mode and a new playable character.
