April Sales Charts Reveal Some Unexpected Surprises

April Sales Charts Reveal Some Unexpected Surprises

The NPD April sales numbers are in and there are actually a few great surprises here. Sitting at the number 1 spot, to the surprise of no one (but to the delight of all), is Dark Souls III . From Software has come such a long way from the days of the original Dark Souls , a game that I wasn’t afraid to call the greatest game ever . I never would have thought that a Dark Souls game would be topping the charts, but there you have it. Ratchet & Clank came in at number 2, which is pretty amazing since it’s a PS4 exclusive and not a multi-plat. This was the best looking game on PS4 until Uncharted 4 came out, and it’s an absolute pleasure to play.

The rest of the top ten is pretty standard stuff. You have The Division and Quantum Break , and of course Minecraft is on the list, but Star Fox Zero really stands out in the number 10 spot. This was a game that released to extremely mixed reviews, and the vocal majority seemed to take issue with the control scheme. It’s pretty amazing that Star Fox made it to the top ten, especially since so few of you actually own a Wii U and these numbers only account for physical sales. Way to go, Miyamoto and Platinum!
