One of the most entertaining and charitable events of the year is about to kick off, and it’s only the first week of 2017! Awesome Games Done Quick is upon us! A speedrunning marathon, AGDQ 2017 will run from 6:30am PT/9:30am ET on January 8 until 8pm PT/11pm ET on January 14. Viewers are encouraged to pledge money, which goes to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Last year, over one million was raised for PCF.
Now, watching all of the AGDQ 2017 speedruns would be rather impossible. This event lasts for a week. We all have jobs and such. Fortunately, an official schedule is now online showing exactly when everything will be played. It all begins with iongravirei playing Ape Escape 2, followed by games like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Borderlands 2, Psychonauts, and Shovel Knight . Some of the last games that will be played include Dark Souls 3, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, Super Metroid, and Undertale .
I think I’m most looking forward to the speedrun of Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword . Kirbymastah will be playing it in the early hours of January 14, which will make it difficult to see as it happens, but I’m always psyched to see more niche games in AGDQ lineups!
