Best Deals on Steam This Week: May 12, 2025 to May 19, 2025
Ahead of the upcoming Summer Steam Sale beginning on June 26, 2025, several other smaller sales have been regularly popping up over the last few weeks. Some of the best deals currently running on Steam have some excellent games discounted to some of their lowest-ever prices, though many of those sales are about to conclude in just a few days on May 15, 2025. Instead of covering the 10 best deals that are currently active on Steam, we're focusing on 10 games that just recently went on sale and will conclude their current sale pricing a week from now, on May 19, 2025. In addition to noting these titles' current pricing, we've pointed out how deep of a discount they're currently at, with some titles discounted as heavily as 95% off their normal price.
Black Mesa
- Release Date — March 6, 2020
- Publisher — Crowbar Collective
- Developer — Crowbar Collective
- Genre — FPS
- Steam User Score — 95% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $1.99 (Normally $19.99, 90% off)
Crowbar Collective's ambitious remake of the first Half-Life is a game that any fan of the series should have in their Steam library, and it's currently back down to its lowest-ever price until May 19, 2025. Black Mesa is 100% worth the normal $20 asking price, so to be able to pick it up at a whopping 90% off for $1.99 is too good to pass up. While Black Mesa does modernize Valve's 1998 classic in terms of its visuals, it remains incredibly faithful to the perfectly paced and tense campaign of the original.
Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced
- Release Date — March 4, 2025
- Publisher — Rockstar Games
- Developer — Rockstar North
- Genre — Action, Open-World
- Steam User Score — 67% (Mixed)
- Price — $15.29 (Normally $44.99, 66% off)
Even if you've owned Grand Theft Auto V on an older platform (or even two older platforms at this point), the newest re-release of the title goes a long way toward improving its PC performance and visual fidelity. While Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced isn't as big of a leap from the Legacy version that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are over the PS3 and Xbox 360 originals, it's still nice to play through the excellent single-player story mode with new features like ray tracing and more stable performance. Plus, in the wake of GTA VI's newest trailer and official release date announcement, GTA V Enhanced is at its lowest ever price of $15.29, throwing in GTA Online and the Legacy version as part of the package as well.
Crysis 2 Remastered
- Release Date — November 17, 2022
- Publisher — Crytek
- Developer — Crytek, Saber Interactive
- Genre — FPS
- Steam User Score — 89% (Very Positive)
- Price — $11.99 (Normally $29.99, 60% off)
For whatever reason, Crysis 2 Remastered is currently on sale as part of the ongoing Steam deals despite neither Crysis Remastered nor Crysis 3 Remastered being included. That said, Crysis 2 is arguably the best game in the trilogy, so it's a great place to start if you've yet to play any of Crytek's excellent sci-fi FPS games. Cysis 2 famously swaps the original's jungle setting for urban sprawl, and its single-player campaign is more than worth the current asking price of $11.99.
Afterimage
- Release Date — April 25, 2023
- Publisher — Maximum Entertainment
- Developer — Aurogon Shanghai
- Genre — Metroidvania
- Steam User Score — 80% (Very Positive)
- Price — $6.24 (Normally $24.99, 75% off)
Regardless of how you feel about Afterimage's abundance of content, there's no arguing that it offers some of the most value per dollar of any game in the Metroidvania genre. So to see it go on sale for 75% off, taking it down from its somewhat pricey $24.99 MSRP to just $6.24, just makes its content value that much more. Truthfully, Afterimage is a sprawling and beautiful Metroidvania with just a little bit of bloat, but its combat and satisfying progression definitely make it worth trying out.
Achilles: Legends Untold
- Release Date — November 2, 2023
- Publisher — Dark Point Games, Galaktus
- Developer — Dark Point Games
- Genre — Soulslike, ARPG
- Steam User Score — 79% (Mostly Positive)
- Price — $9.99 (Normally $24.99, 60% off)
Most Soulslikes tend to stick to a third-person perspective, but few of them shift that third-person perspective to one that's overhead. Achilles: Legends Untold claims to be a Soulslike, and while it does have some elements of the subgenre, it's closer to a standard action RPG. But it's a really good action RPG. Achilles is a little easier, and its combat is more hack-and-slash than FromSoftware, but its breezy pace and Greek mythology setting help give it a unique identity among both Soulslikes and ARPGs.
Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel
- Release Date — June 28, 2022
- Publisher — Maximum Entertainment
- Developer — Pulsatrix Studios
- Genre — Survival Horror, Shooter, Puzzle
- Steam User Score — 86% (Very Positive)
- Price — $4.49 (Normally $29.99, 85% off)
Pulsatrix Studios is currently at work on its next horror game, the very promising AILA, but its first horror title is currently at its all-time lowest price of $4.49. Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel was a very well-received horror game at the time of its release that blends first-person shooter combat and some fairly intense puzzle solving with a host of supernatural foes in the very tense atmosphere of a haunted hotel. I've had this one on my radar since trying AILA, and if you're anything like me, now is arguably the best time to take the plunge and add it to your library.
Everspace
- Release Date — May 25, 2017
- Publisher — Rockfish Games
- Developer — Rockfish Games
- Genre — Arcade Flight, Roguelike, Shooter
- Steam User Score — 77% (Mostly Positive)
- Price — $0.99 (Normally $19.99, 95% off)
There are so many action roguelikes that it can be hard to cut through the noise and find those diamonds in the rough. One such hidden gem in the action roguelike subgenre is Everspace, which, for whatever reason, has never seemed to catch on in the way that some other, more popular action roguelikes have. If you enjoy arcade-style flight games like Star Fox and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, Everspace taps into that same style of gameplay but through the progression loop of a roguelike, and it's every bit as addictive as it sounds. With it currently less than a dollar, there's never been a better time to pick up this underrated classic.
Vigil: The Longest Night
- Release Date — October 14, 2020
- Publisher — Glass Heart Games
- Developer — Glass Heart Games
- Genre — Metroidvania, Soulslike
- Steam User Score — 86% (Very Positive)
- Price — $10.99 (Normally $21.99, 50% off)
Nowadays, there are almost too many titles that blend Metroidvania elements with Soulslikes. But back when that genre combination was more novel and still in its infancy, Glass Heart Games released the excellent Vigil: The Longest Night, which is arguably still one of the best "Soulsvania" games out there despite it being lesser-known. Vigil definitely borrows a lot from the earlier Salt and Sanctuary, but its combat, art direction, level design, and build variety are all much, much better. Like the other games on this list, Vigil: The Longest Night is worth picking up at full price, which makes its current 50% off deal that much sweeter.
Cult of the Lamb
- Release Date — August 11, 2022
- Publisher — Devolver Digital
- Developer — Massive Monster
- Genre — Action Roguelike, Base-Building, Management
- Steam User Score — 95% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $12.49 (Normally $24.99, 50% off)
Cult of the Lamb might be one of the best games to release in 2022, and it's continued to get better and better thanks to a slew of free content updates and patches that have improved both halves of its gameplay. Part action roguelike and part management sim, in which you lead a devout community of worshippers, Cult of the Lamb is perhaps the cutest Lovecraftian game there is, it's frequently laugh-out-loud funny, and its excellent action segments stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best games in the action roguelike subgenre.
Stellaris
- Release Date — May 9, 2016
- Publisher — Paradox Interactive
- Developer — Paradox Development Studio
- Genre — 4X, Strategy, Simulation
- Steam User Score — 87% (Very Positive)
- Price — $9.99 (Normally $39.99, 75% off)
Most grand strategy games tend to stick to time-worn settings most commonly associated with the genre (wartime conflict, medieval diplomacy, etc.), which is what makes Stellaris all the more refreshing. One of the only, and still one of the best, 4X strategy games set in space, Stellaris just got a major content update and is celebrating with a 75% off sale. For $10, you're almost guaranteeing yourself hundreds of hours of potential gameplay.
