Blizzard Explains Where it Went Wrong with Diablo 3

At this year’s BlizzCon, which occurred over last weekend, Blizzard’s game director for Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls , Josh Mosqueira, as well as other members behind the game’s development team, took to the stage during one of the event’s panels, this one in particular focusing on Diablo 3 and how it evolved over time.

During the hour-long panel, members of Diablo 3’s development team took turns to outline the various behind-the-scenes discussions and arguments as well as the choices the team had to make for Diablo 3 and where to go with it after its dodgy launch.

Going over the previous design philosophies relating to the longevity of the game, as well as how Blizzard original planned to reward Diablo 3 players items, balancing fantasy and loot-drop efficiency, and how the game of continuously patched during its first year of launch, and how working on fixing the game helped with the development of the console version of Diablo 3 .
